1281  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Casino games plebs like us must play on: February 08, 2023, 06:10:36 PM
I still think that slots are a lot better to "plebs" like us because it is both fun, and it could shock you and give you a better return. Doesn't mean that it will happen, maybe it won't happen and you will lose, most probably you will lose but isn't that for all games? I mean gambling is a net negative in the end, house always wins, which means that whatever you gamble you will lose, doesn't matter what game.

However, if you have a chance to win very big, at least you could take some of that out, and yeah casinos win on the long run, but they could lose 100 to you and earn 200 from others, which means you could get lucky with some slot chances, which is why I like it so much.
You're right that it is applicable to most games. Well, plebs like us can play anything that we want and I'm more with the sports betting but still does some casino games.

But true to it that whatever we choose, we all know what shall happen if we're not too good in securing profits if we're already winning. That's the right thing to do whether you play slots, sports betting or any other casino games. We all want to end taking some cash as we go home.
1282  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What Does it Mean to DO YOUR OWN RESEARCH(DYOR)? on: February 08, 2023, 01:08:54 PM
- What does it  mean it actually mean to DO YOUR OWN RESEARCH?
Literally to take your time and make your initiative to know and research something about the projects you're about to invest.

- What are the steps to start to take? Technical analysis? Fundamental analysis? Sentimental analysis?
That's already about trading, you can start with the basics by just knowing who are the teams behind, reading the whole or bit of a project's whitepaper. Something like that but if you want to proceed and want to get into trading then those types of analysis are what you need.

- How did you or do you DO YOUR OWN RESEARCH ?
Reading through the forum, we've got specific sections in here so it's easier to research. If can't be found, simply using the search engines.
1283  Economy / Speculation / Re: Can I invest my 60% savings in Bitcoin? on: February 08, 2023, 12:54:13 AM
To answer about your savings, from my perspective, I can say that conveniently with a YES. It's not my money but I've done that alone and that's why I can answer like that.

However, you and I might be in a different situation where I can adjust to my finances and currently able to have that savings but eventually will have to take a big portion from my savings to attend the other needs that I may have financially.

To break it down, you'll still be having that direction in the thought of "Only invest what you can afford to lose."
1284  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🕹️ Esports 🎮 Prediction & Discussion Thread on: February 07, 2023, 10:50:57 PM
But as an individual, they have to do something when the situation isn't favorable on them and as you've said, has to be self sufficient. I'm seeing those type of carries and that's why I guess many of those good carries are easily being scouted and offered to transfer to another team.

I think what will be the most valuable asset of acquiring ramzes is the discipline and his experiences.

True, his experiences would surely matter to whichever team he will go to. But he really needs to learn the way of the new generation of carries. Watching the likes of Yuragi, Skiter, Yatoro, etc. you'll see that these guys know how to play the farming and fighting game simultaneously. Gone are the days of carries racing to the highest net worth. You just have to be involved in many fights, and that's what I haven't seen in Ramzes when he was a carry back then.
I couldn't agree more.

Since meta changes, old carries are becoming rusty and a carry like him that has transitioned to another position playing it for years have also made him quite rusty.

He really has to learn from the carries right now that are certainly, without a doubt can be said as one of the best carries out there curently.

Well, before, the basis of how a good carry is on how quick he is in farming. But right now, it's all about how to give himself space when they're not doing well and also capitalizing the situation if they're the ones that's leading the game.
1285  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🕹️ Esports 🎮 Prediction & Discussion Thread on: February 06, 2023, 10:25:30 AM
I didn't really like the way Ramzes plays carry as he's quite inconsistent, and hopefully Secret changes that inconsistency into something worthwhile for him and the team.
With what I've watched on him before, I've got no problems with him on that position and have been idolizing him. But let's see that, there will be for sure new adjustments again.

If you watched him back then, you'll see that he's explosive when guarded by supports most of the laning phase, but kinda falls out when he's left behind. Now a lot of carries that you see are self-sufficient, and can create space for themselves when the going gets rough. Haven't seen that in Ramzes in his carry days so I beg to differ.
Yes, you're right. I remember that there have been matches that he's not that explosive at all and really has to rely on the team. The carries(pos 1) are also upgrading their game plays and won't just have to be reliant to their whole team.

But as an individual, they have to do something when the situation isn't favorable on them and as you've said, has to be self sufficient. I'm seeing those type of carries and that's why I guess many of those good carries are easily being scouted and offered to transfer to another team.

1286  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Your college degree means that you are not educated. on: February 06, 2023, 08:17:02 AM
Yeah, there's a deeper meaning about being educated. It's not just all about the academic achievements and stuff, whether it's a college degree, a masteral or doctoral.

But it's more of being how well mannered a person is and that's I think what you're implying to say. I used also to think about that when I see professional folks that have good job titles but when its come to their attitude, they fail.
But that's not his point. He's only emphasising on individual differences that one portrays which we know has nothing to do with degrees and certificates
Yes, I understand his point.

The product that comes from the universities and colleges are diverse. They may have their own ways of teaching and they're enforcing it while the students are staying on the school.

But once they come out, it really changes. The differences are the only thing that we can see from each individual and being educated is subjective on how people believes on how it should be.

That's why I've said that it's not just all about those academic stuff and certificates.
1287  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: FBI says scams involving Tether are on rise in Denver on: February 06, 2023, 06:57:59 AM
Scams have been there and this is just another reminder for most people that aren't aware of these scams. The reminders not just from FBI but even for normal plebs like us have always been told.

But the sad thing is that, there will always be those people that never take anyone's good advise for them because they think that they can do better and they know everything.

2) Government should take steps to increase awareness related to crypto in general masses. They should hire experts to give detailed talks and  recommend measures to general public to remain safe.
There's no need for them to do that, sometimes they're not even sure whether they'll support or not.
1288  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🕹️ Esports 🎮 Prediction & Discussion Thread on: February 05, 2023, 10:38:56 PM
Another adjustments for them then. Well, as an org, Team Secret is a good org and team so whoever is going to replace someone's position, it will be filled shortly.

Ramzes going back to pos 1? Hmmm, I have been a fan of his when he's playing that position before. I will wait for further announcements.

It's been months or maybe even a year since Ramzes held pos 1 in big tournaments. Also most of his recent games are on offlane as well. I wonder whether he's still updated on the carry meta or not, but for sure he knows how to counter most carries and he'll use that knowledge to adjust quite well in the position.
I'm sure that he's updated on the meta, he never stopped playing but just changed his role for the teams that he played with. IIRC, with one of his interviews whenever he's comfortable with the role he just want to play with it and switch as soon as possible.

So, if it's like this is the role that he wants to play again, I'm sure that he won't disappoint the team and all of his fans that has known him very well for this position since his stay with VP before.

I didn't really like the way Ramzes plays carry as he's quite inconsistent, and hopefully Secret changes that inconsistency into something worthwhile for him and the team.

1290  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: I have to hold on tight on: February 05, 2023, 08:19:06 PM
Selling and holding should be your decision and not going to come from the others that you're asking about it.

You decide and blame yourself for whatever will be the outcome, good or bad outcome then it should be your whole responsibility to take care of. But just as you're asking for advise, there's always these two.

1. If you want to take the money and happy with the profit, sell.

2. If you're long term and want to see more potential profits then, hold.
1291  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🕹️ Esports 🎮 Prediction & Discussion Thread on: February 04, 2023, 11:22:16 PM
Just like what happened on their short fall on TI, people were talking about Crystallis as the weakest link in the team.

Latest rumours about this, Ramzes is going to replace him soon. I mean he is decent but he might not fit in that team and he has been pretty bad since last season with Secret

Ramzes has left his old team as well so probably they are finalizing the deal

1292  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Act local and think global on: February 04, 2023, 12:48:36 PM
Today too many people are in worries about Bitcoin adoption, they want to see the global adoption happens overnight, that is impossible, I had some chats yesterday within a mist of friends and they are talking about how they don't notice any fast global bitcoin adoption, I told them that it won't happen instantly.

Bitcoin came into the world in 2009 and so far it's been doing so well. My last piece of advice to them is that Bitcoin adoption starts with us, let's forget about the global side, how many people have you lectured about Bitcoin this year locally, I asked.

The same thing goes out to all of us on here, every part we take locally will have a big impact on Bitcoin adoption, never get tired of spreading the news, it's worthy.
Just let your friend tell what they wanna say about bitcoin or its adoption. It won't be an instant adoption but if we'll based all of the years from the very start up to this moment, it's safe to say that bitcoin has gone that far already.

And we can guarantee that adoption is continuosly happening. If they're not satisfied with what they're seeing then let them wait until they see that most countries has it. But the reality is that, it has already come further than before.
1293  Economy / Gambling / Re: Positive Gambling Quotes for 2023! on: February 03, 2023, 02:12:24 PM
"Gambling is an opportunity to experience life's greatest moments and to turn a profit in the process."
Can't find the author of this through google so that means that it must be you that have said this quote, right?  Grin

While, I agree and it's true with the said quote but there will be those that will be against on it especially those that don't really gamble. They'll say that someone shouldn't gamble because it's not a way to make profit.
1294  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🕹️ Esports 🎮 Prediction & Discussion Thread on: February 03, 2023, 12:44:17 PM
Nisha and Team Liquid's chemistry worked right away because Nisha is such a versatile player with huge experience at top-level games and Liquid is also willing to adopt Nisha's playing style. Unlike BOOM, he needs to adjust and acclimatize to the playing style of Puppey. No way Puppey is going to accommodate BOOM's possible proposals and style of play. After all, Puppey and Team Secret have too much experienced, it's either they will change the line-up again later or BOOM will start to play according to its team's style. I am hoping of course that BOOM will start playing well and become as flexible as Nisha in their next tournament.

Last season, I remember Team Secret was ranked 35th something in the DPC and yet still able to join the TI in the last minutes of the season and performed well in TI.
I may have to agree of what I've read with what Fly has said about Boom. Because of the lackluster of team, all eyes are on Boom because he's the one that's new to the team.

Just like what happened on their short fall on TI, people were talking about Crystallis as the weakest link in the team.

With all of this, whether a team is performing well or not, there will always be the one that's going to take the blame for whatever situation they are with.
1295  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How much time do you think you have spent gambling? on: February 02, 2023, 10:04:09 PM
I spent mostly with dice and sports betting. Before placing a bet with a sports bet mainly with E Sports, it's taking me some time like around 10-30 minutes to look at the match and the teams involved. Looking for some specific news if one will be out and will be replaced by a substitute.

As for dice, it wasn't a lot as I do it automatically and that's just like 5 to 10 minutes of stay.

In combination, it's not happening everyday and it's like every other 2 to 3 days and there will be weeks that I have no gambling at all and then sometimes one. So, it is hard to calculate but that's it.
1296  Economy / Economics / Re: Throwback - Tesla lost $204 million in Bitcoin, but learn the lesson from this! on: February 02, 2023, 10:27:41 AM
And another lesson is that, AFAIK, those bitcoins they've bought are still being kept and good for long term holding. If the huge companies like them are just enduring the bear market then we should just follow what they do and don't worry a lot.

If they're even firm with their holding and don't panic, how much more that we just hold a little compared to them. They know what they're doing and so do we have to know as well what we're up to.
1297  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: I'm selling my house for eth on: February 02, 2023, 08:30:28 AM
Good luck in selling your house, aside from posting it here in the forum and your local forum. Look for some other platforms like social media and other crypto groups in your locale to place this ad.

This will certainly get the attention for those that have been finding a way to spend their ETH and wanting to buy a house.

Anyway, I hope you find the buyer and this sale proceeds with someone who is able to take it with your asking price.

I drop by there from time to time and it is definitely sad to see where it's gone. It used to be a fairly large site overall and now the volume is abysmal.
Before it's like a normal thing to see that the active users were like three digits but now, it's has gone down to 2 digits but still close to three digits.

Plus reading about LL not being responsive and everything is a bit concerning, so I doubt most people would trust it with many funds at this point.
That has become a concern but I still people that get to trust him and the site. Reading on the chat there seems people have nothing to worry about so, I guess if they're not too worried about then that means they're all satisfied and as long as they're receiving withdrawals which was the major concern before on this thread.

Then everything is all good as of now.
1299  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Is it advisable to stay away from yield farming in a bear market? on: February 01, 2023, 07:36:24 PM
We all know how lucrative yield farming can be if you choose the right DEFI platform but my question is when is the right time for a newbie to start Yield Farming? A bearish market or a bullish market?
I guess there's no actual season of when it's profitable. It's like that you just have to monitor and choose what you think is going to be profitable because they're just like all of a sudden becomes profitable and then when people starts to gather and starts investing and also do yield farming then rates are decreasing.

My second question is what risks comes with Yield farming?
I'm sure you've heard of rug pull then that's one of the risk that it has.

I have once heard from a popular figure in crypto space that the beginning of a bull market is when staking and yield farming makes sense but how true? I haven't done this before.
Rates are high during the bull run and that's why it's obvious that it's profitable but it wouldn't last long.
1300  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Main Stream Media trying to defame Crypto / Bitcoin on: February 01, 2023, 04:10:02 PM
That isn't brand new. Ever since that bitcoin and its market has been established, countless times FUD were made and even if the actual news doesn't have something to do with it, they're making their articles relevant.

But as we know when these FUDs are made, I guess that we're seeing the sign that the bull run is soon to come.

It's more worrying when they start to praise the market as the opposite of it might occur. Just always remember that.
