1261  Economy / Economics / Re: EU ramps up war on cash on: February 11, 2017, 08:11:29 AM
Question:  Why do bitcoin fans care about a cashless society?  That's basically what bitcoin is.  No paper, no metal coins.  Yes, that's what we're moving toward, but I think most people are happy not carrying around cash.  Yeah, the government is pushing toward this but I don't see much opposition to it, except for frigging ZERO HEDGE idiots.  Why do people still read that crap?  All they want to do is push precious metals--the people who write the articles probably have an ulterior motive, you know.

Having said all that, I am definitely a fan of coins and precious metals.  But as far as money goes, it really, really doesn't need to exist physically.  Just like you don't need a stock certificate when you own a stock.

I would argue that Bitcoin (and Monero to a greater extent because it is private) is analogous to digital cash. You can move cash around without necessarily having to go through a bank for quite some time. Same with cryptocurrency. Banning cash means they want control of every transaction. If a government moves to ban or restrict cash, they will also move to ban or restrict its digital equivalent.

But let's say none of that is correct. Even then, we should let our representatives know that this is a short step away from tyranny and it must not be allowed.
Yes, we can speculate the worst situations if the EU decide move to cashless society, the used of their own official digital currency should be affected bitcoin as well. How? I don't think they will allow another competitor which has more advantages. People will prefer to choose bitcoin obviously, if they don't like their every transaction being tracked.
However, I don't think EU citizens will approve this, they have right to vote? It won't be running smoothly without a hitch.
1262  Local / Bahasa Indonesia (Indonesian) / Re: Apa fungsi bitcoin bagi agan ? on: February 11, 2017, 06:53:12 AM
Apa fungsi bitcoin bagi agan ?
Apakah sebagai investasi / sebagai mata uang / keduanya Grin

Ane sih keduanya
masih belum ngerti jadi takut ngambil resiko .
terimakasih banyak gan saran nya , sangat menolong sekali  Smiley
1263  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How to make governments accept bitcoin? on: February 11, 2017, 05:24:48 AM
What is there, other than anonymity, thats making governments fear bitcoin and cryptocurrencies?
Anonymity is the biggest hurdle for bitcoin to get accepted by governments/banks because they can't implement taxation as well as they can't track source of bitcoin. However anonymity is also the main feature due to which many users love to store in bitcoin and use it whenever they like.

Governments/banks may never accept direct bitcoin payments, but they may implement strict rules/regulation and high fees on local bitcoin trading platform. And as recent coinbase and PBOC investigation have shown that governments are now looking to get detail about every bitcoin traders who are actively trading bitcoin so that they can put tax on their earnings as well as limit money laundering.

Bitcoin as digital currency created to has all of those advantages, the nature of its creation.
However, bitcoin isn't fully anonymous, every transaction has been recorded in blockchain.
Moreover, in every transaction on big exchanges in the country which has regulations about money laundering and illegal funding, require Id confirmation. Well, in my country has the same regulations about exchanges.
So, how to make government accept bitcoin? Actually, they have accepted bitcoin as the regulations existence about it.
The best thing is government didn't banned bitcoin and stated it as commodity/asset/digital currency whatever they want.
If accept bitcoin mean become a legal payment such as fiat money in daily transaction, we should be able to do it as long as there is no any regulation that prohibits bitcoin used and consider as illegal payment. Cheers Grin
1264  Economy / Speculation / Re: New record being at 1000+? on: February 11, 2017, 04:34:06 AM
It looks like the price of $1.132 difficult to traverse this month, initially I was very optimistic when the price reaches $1,050 on 2 days ago, but now the price drop again below $1.000. Strongly feels that there are doing the speculation with price bitcoin.
bitcoin prices are currently difficult to predict. bitcoin prices quickly rise and fall. maybe just a few more days bitcoin could reach 1500USD and can also be at 500USD. This is possible because of the nature of bitcoin prices that have consistently every time.
Good news that the price already recover to $1000 again, but latest declined may because Chinese massive withdrawal form their exchanges such as Okcoin, Huobi, and BTCC. It's confirmed as the exchanges stop bitcoin withdrawal, people in there should be in panic as China's central bank met with a group of exchange executives to warn them about the need to enforce rules on money-laundering and foreign exchange. This news triggered them to suddenly cash out what they had put, not so worrying now as we have spread widely over the world than just China hold big portion.
1265  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling. Is It Wrong? on: February 10, 2017, 03:57:25 PM
Nothing wrong with gambling, gambling can be wrong when gambler get addiction and can't control their self, do every ways to still gambling and use all their money only for gambling didn't care about anything again, all in their mind is only gambling gambling and gambling.

It's not about how much you gamble or how you can afford to lose, it's about the habit you get when you get addicted to gambling even if you gamble with the money you can afford to lose, the effect of  addiction on your life will be bad and will get worse if it continues it will ruin your life no matter how rich you are.

Then, we can consider that 'gambling' is wrong in the first place.
If there is no gambling, no one will fall into this black hole of addiction.
Yes, who get addicted could blamed as well as they can't control themselves to avoid too much losses and ruin their life.
So, both of them are wrong, whether the house or gamblers.
1266  Local / Bahasa Indonesia (Indonesian) / Re: Keputusan bitcoin terburuk yang pernah anda lakukan ? on: February 10, 2017, 03:46:07 PM

Harga bitcoin memang sangat sulit diprediksi .
1267  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Is Going Mainstream Banks Are Disappearing on: February 10, 2017, 03:31:55 PM
Get nude, paint spray bitcoin logo on your body, get media attention, get on the news! I will donate 5BTC if i will see your nude ass in news.
You can get some nude model for less than 1BTC and you can paint whatever you want in their ass/body.  Grin

Who gonna promote bitcoin without any incentive? People don't like to invest money from their pocket to put in bitcoin advertisements. Bitcoin/blockchain related company should promote use of bitcoin using some % of their business profit because they are the one who will get benefit if bitcoin goes mainstream.
Suddenly, we're talking about bum ads  ;Dlol. There you go, the idea to hire a beautiful model which cost less than 5btc.
To make celebrity do such things, I think you need more than 5btc.
The way to make bitcoin mainstream already begun from few past years and we still need years ahead to make it happen.
Maybe not mainstream as fiat money, but everyone in the country should know about bitcoin payment, slowly they will attracted to it.
I prefer to reassure stores/groceries/restaurants/hotel to accept bitcoin transaction, maybe with local exchanges help.
1268  Economy / Economics / Re: Best way for steady income on: February 10, 2017, 02:55:16 PM
I tried investing in casino a little bit, and until now I'm rather satisfied!
I tried investing quite a bit in YoloDice and it was a good investment with 20% return!
Of course I'm not expecting such awesome return on the long run, but investing in casinos is a good way to assure a steady income in my opinion, casino will always win on the long run ^^
I've tried to invest in Casino site before and it's good since I got 40% back income without doing, it's good to invest in some Casino (probably if the casino site is popular) but sometimes your money will go down to -20% or probably lose your all money if you invest in wrong/bankrupt Casino site.
Steady income may just come from casinos bankroll due it has high chance to get good return. Bitcoin gambling has been thrives and bankroll management provide opportunities to invest on them. Nice investment for you guys to have 20-40% profits and it proven as a good option to put our money into. Not risk-free of course as players sometimes win the match, be ready to get lose as well.
1269  Economy / Speculation / Re: Can the price of bitcoin still skyrocket on: February 10, 2017, 10:23:22 AM
Towards the ending of last year a prediction was outrageously made by Saxo Bank which says the price of bitcoin will sky rocket to $2100 which we did experience some huge increase in the price of bitcoin acouple of days after the prediction was made. Soon we had a situation in China which make some people loose their trust in future of bitcoin cos they think a government of any country could do something worst in the future. But with the huge trust in bitcoin we had from people of Japan,Africa,America etc we had some sort of increase in price this days.

The question is could bitcoin still skyrocket to $1000 - $2,100 as predicted?
I believe so, bitcoin price can and will skyrocket to $2000 maybe in this year or in early of 2018.
Every decline of the price mean nothing but an opportunity to buy more bitcoin and spread widely over the world instead of just some countries rules/hold big portion of bitcoin. As you said, people trust in bitcoin and it keeps growing even though there are some obstacles, we will get through.
1270  Economy / Economics / Re: First investments in bitcoins on: February 10, 2017, 09:28:35 AM
Hey mate, it is not that easy to indulge yourself into something that makes you only curious, in investing money and time you need passion to it. It might not that easy to have but as the time goes by when your passion really drives you to success then it is good.
You also need that some learning to get from your advisers and friends out there, they might help you on that, then in some research.
But as above posted, it is better to experience it by your own not relaying yourself to other’s experience because maybe your fate is different from theirs, but it is good to collect some ideas on how to grow and start on.

You forgot to see the essence of positioning in your investments which is an essential part of any part of profit taking. As you can see Bitcoin's price is way to high to buy more Bitcoin. The best time for buying it was awhile back in January where is drop back to 700$. This assures you that you are in a safe position to wait for it to grow.
You forgot  Grin that we can't go back to January and buy bitcoin as much as we could.
You forgot again, the best time to buy a lot of bitcoin was in 2009. As we can't go back to the past (we wish), there is no perfect time to buy, but we know $1000 is the settle price, so whenever the dip occurs, chance to buy.
1271  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: In what situation would Bitcoin die? on: February 10, 2017, 07:49:40 AM
How and why would the end of bitcoin (and any other cryptocurrency) occur? Value decrease? Legality issues? Different technology/ideas to supersede it?

It is going to die when the market cap of bitcoin will be $0 already which is very impossible to happen because those investors are not just investors they did put their trust and money to bitcoin so it is going to be a dream only that bitcoin will die. Maybe if there's another interesting coin that will come out or upgrade of bitcoin, the first version of bitcoin will die.
Yes it is impossible for now, I can't imagine what kind of issues will crash bitcoin until no one won't use it anymore.
Legality issue may decrease the value but not affected entirely users so bad, and bitcoin will find the way to rise again.
Different technology/ideas may supersede bitcoin? Maybe, but it can't make bitcoin to the grave. The only problem that will make bitcoin die should because no more internet connection anymore (nuclear war), so no one could access to bitcoin transfer over the world, back to conventional remittance service again.
1272  Local / Bahasa Indonesia (Indonesian) / Re: Apa sih manfaat sering online di Bitcointalk? on: February 09, 2017, 03:59:11 PM
Smiley
Banyak manfaatnya sih menurut ane, seperti:
1273  Economy / Speculation / Re: And yet another crash, lets get the wallet out, time to stock up :) on: February 09, 2017, 03:41:53 PM
People that were complaining about the price being too high can now put their money where their mouth is, and enjoy buying coins with a $100 discount. Instead of looking at this dump as being something negative, consider this to be a welcome moment to enter the market before the price starts heading up again. It's not the first time we have seen such a dump.
Absolutely, another $100 discount and chance to buy as the higher price will come back soon, every dip is the best time to store bitcoin.
Yes, maybe US citizens was panic due to announcement of central bank, but it will trigger others to sell as well.
Based on the market price, it seems that Okcoin has the lowest exchange rate, it shows how much panic sell also occur there.
1274  Local / Bahasa Indonesia (Indonesian) / Re: Bitcoin di daerah? on: February 09, 2017, 03:23:53 PM
1275  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: [China's fakeness] Before and after on: February 09, 2017, 03:06:35 PM
for years on the social media regarding bitcoin, we have been hearing these words "China is controlling bitcoin" i have always shook my head in disappointment after seeing how many people fall for the manipulative words.

you can even see a topic with this exact title here and half of people voting "Yes" for it!

here is how fake Chinese trading volumes were:

source of the charts: https://data.bitcoinity.org

and although i have always been saying having the mining power has nothing to do with any of all this, since not long ago ghash.io had 51+% of the hashrate in one place and nothing happened, but i would like to share this image here also because i find it relevant:

source: Reddit (it looks like the same above site was used)
Fake volume? The truth has revealed now. But, they trading volume seems still leading the market price.
At least, we know that bitcoin spread widely and there's no country that really control bitcoin.
But, I don't think bitcoin market will free from price manipulation as the market cap isn't big enough, the manipulation is real.
1276  Economy / Economics / Re: First investments in bitcoins on: February 09, 2017, 12:08:08 PM
Hi everybody, I am quite new in this new market and have a lot of interest in it. After advices from friends, i have put some money in Ethereum by the fact that i like their project which has a global view on the world. Moreover, i have also put some money in Monero.

Now, i am confused to invest in the long run for some bitcoins. Why ? Because prices are already really high but after reading a lot analysis, predictions are quite high.
What do you think about investment in some bitcoins at this high Price ? Thanks guys
Glad to see another new user join in the forum and look after bitcoin investment.
I know higher price of bitcoin will be another problem for average income of people which can't afford to buy decent amount of bitcoin, but it will be a great investment in the future, consider the wallet as your savings account but free from any taxes or administration charge. I believe bitcoin will continue to increase (adopters and price), you won't regret it.
1277  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: accurate sport prediction on: February 09, 2017, 11:23:49 AM
Hi guys, pls can anybody send me a website or  football tip star that give accurate football tips that as high success of winning rate or if you know of s reliable site or tip star that give fixed football matches kindly pm thanks
Yes, there are some sites which tipster share their gamble predictions. However, I've never write down the website, not a free service of course. I think it will give 70-85% accurately, but you can figure it out.  I ever seen this tipster https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1642481.0
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1545648.0
You may take a look at their recent predictions for a while.
1278  Economy / Speculation / Re: $500,000 per Bitcoin, baby. The math behind it. on: February 09, 2017, 09:58:23 AM
Bitcoin is the 3rd revolution I'm living through

1st revolution was Personal Computer's which are now tablets and smartphones to many (1980's-2000's)
2nd revolution was The Net the age of instant free info (1990's-2000's)
3rd revolution was Digital Cryptocurrency (2010's-)

I honestly believe most here will be telling our grand kids about a thing we used to have called money that evil governments printed at will to fuel stupid wars.

They will ask, "Gramps, how did you become so rich?"

You will say, "Because I SAW THE REVOLUTION COMING and put lots of worthless government notes into tech notes you call BITCOIN."

After you've been front lines in a couple of revolutions you start to see them coming.

BITCOIN is like the Internet and the personal computer. It is the NEXT revolution.

Bitcoin had four ten-fold growth bubbles:
  • $0.05 per bitcoin. The start.
  • $0.50 per bitcoin. First tenfold bubble
  • $5.00 per bitcoin. Next tenfold bubble
  • $50.00 per bitcoin. Next tenfold bubble
  • $500.00 per bitcoin. Our current bubble

Next bubbles:
  • $5,000 per bitcoin.
  • $50,000 per bitcoin.
  • $500,000 per bitcoin.

For $5,000 to happen you need ONLY 0.1% acceptance of world population for Bitcoin. We are at 0.01% now.

$50,000 is just 1% of Gross World Product by Bitcoin. This produces the $50,000 bubble.

$500,000 per Bitcoin is just 10% Gross World Product by Bitcoin.

Can Bitcoin hit 10% growth of population?

Credit cards did and they reject 90% of the world.

Bitcoin rejects no one.

So Bitcoin will go in trade where Visa/Mastercard refuse to go.

So way over 10% of Gross World Product can eventually be Bitcoin.

10% of Gross World Product is $8.5 trillion.

Divide 12M coins into $8.5 trillion

$500,000 Bitcoin baby.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

The original poster of this was not me. Full credit goes to this guy "domainbrokers". I liked his post so much that I wanted to share it.

Amazing calculations, it is make sense in math but the prediction about 10% acceptance by growth of population, seems hardly to achieve. I realized, that is possible in the future if blockchain technology and devs team could solve all the problems such as what we face right now, the biggest obstacle maybe come from the government which ban bitcoin or push exchanges to sink in the middle of financial services.
1279  Local / Bahasa Indonesia (Indonesian) / Re: Diamana tempat jual beli Bitcoin yang paling recomended ? on: February 09, 2017, 08:35:05 AM

Klo blh tahu berapa fee setiap kali penarikan disini ?
Hmmm Huh
Kalo nunggu beberapa jam di VIP Dan harus bayar fee 25rb, mending ane transaksi tuker btc-idr lewat local exchanger aj, seperti di fais-xchanger. Kapok dah lewat yg lain, proses ribet (verifikasi id, deposit, dkk), fee tinggi, lama pula.
1280  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What are your thoughts for Bitcoin in 2017? on: February 08, 2017, 03:59:41 PM
Some of my thought for 2017:

1. For everyone staying that bitcoin can't compete with traditional payment processors - with proper fee there is no delay on payment.
So unless bitcoin will always be mined with speed 10 minutes per block money transfers won't be any faster. Deal with it.

2. Bitcoin was designed to be safe haven and asset/currency, it will free us from next economic crisis.
It has its own micro world, the worse fiat is doing, the better BTC will be. We will see that in the future.

3. Yuan has lost about 14% against dollar in last 4 years. Do you think where Chinese citizens scared by further devaluation will flock? Bitcoin is the cure.

1. Yes it is, bitcoin just 10 years around. Which it can't compete with conventional banks yet, blockchain need some adjustments and upgrades to achieve that, maybe in 10 years later.
2. Bitcoin created as digital currency, state it as safe heaven is exaggerate as the market cap isn't big enough to become stable, free from manipulation.
3. Yes, people will always looking for an alternative 'store of value' to diversify their wealth as bitcoin become a rising star that attract layman and investors. Uniquely, every unstable economics occured will lead to 'bitcoin rises', I don't think Chinese citizens scared but they are looking for reliable investment.
