Why in my wallet (mac version) stakes are always equals to 0 ? must i do something to mine PoS ?
Thanks
You need to do this when you wanna mint PoS blocks: -Go to help, debug window, console. -Type: walletpassphrase *your pw* *time in seconds* true -Hit enter and it'll unlock it for pos minting only...either that or having no encryption (which I wouldn't reccomend)

Let’s pump this coin people, deserves way much better ! I was doing some small pumps going clearly in minus, but what the hell.. ..today, two days ago, and on Friday.. trying at least price to hang in there. Seems some other folks also tried.. but today dropping again don’t have much BTC left to pump it more on Cryptsy.. I prefer BTER...craptsy sucks. I'm waiting for my PoS blocks, should start getting them by the 23rd. what is Pos Block friend ? someone bought big quants of YAC on Cryptsy again YEY !:) for all XPM I got, I‚m pumping YAC as hard as I can there.. It's what sets yac apart from the rest, that and cpu mining with N factor. It gives you block rewards for holding coins 30 days+, formula is as follows: total coins at stake*.05*(30+ days)/365=Proof of Stake reward per PoS block

What's the best OS for this in this list?
ubuntu 12.04.1 server amd64 gentoo amd64 minimal 20121210 ubuntu 12.10 server amd64 gentoo x86 minimal 20121213 CentOS 5.8 x86-64 CentOS 6.3 X86-64 FreeBSD 9.1 release amd64 debian 6.0.6 amd64 debian 6.0.6 i386
It's a VPS, and only has linux options...
ubuntu 12.04.1 server amd64 is a safe bet Yet I'm having trouble compiling the miner: http://www.ppcointalk.org/index.php?topic=341.msg2361#msg2361Haven't got an answer yet...seems to be a bug or something when doing apt-get install for certain dev files.

"We've actually never seen anything like it before," Mitch Wainer II, DigitalOcean's head of marketing, told El Reg via email. "This increase in usage was the equivalent of our normal growth that we would do in 90 days, now in 2 days. We temporarily disabled NY1 and AMS1 for only new customers. SF was always available for everyone."
[DigitalOcean capacity fail] [Currency speculators floored two out of three of DigitalOcean's regions]
Over 18,000 people signed up to perform Primecoin mining, Wainer said. "Most customers were using a $10 promo code which allowed them to run a 512MB Droplet for 2 months." He confirmed that no DigitalOcean employee has been involved in promoting the cloud for its use among Primecoin devotees.
LOL you guys make me proud They shouldn't sell more than they can afford to provide...they still owe me 30 bucks from referrals.

I'm gonna try different sieve sizes on digitalocean vps...having 0 blocks for a day so far.

We have a very, very long time to go before the block reward hits 6 XPM.
I dunno, reward was 15 XPM yesterday. I don't think you understand how block reward and difficulty works. Block reward is 999/diff^2. Each whole number difficulty increase is a 30x increase in the amount of network power required to maintain the same block rate. Good luck reaching 810000x network power for a little while without ASICs. GPU miners won't get anywhere near that amount. Someone already explained why GPU mining is a 10x at best (and that's with CUDA), and because of VPS deployments GPU miners won't even make a dent in the network power since you'd have to buy new hardware. Care to elaborate more on this, I can't seem to follow your math.

Is there a way with listtransaction to only see mined coins?
I checked before bur might have missed it.
Not without a separate script, they are labeled as being mined when you listtransactions. Let me ask again...do I need to do anything else other than sharing the same wallet.dat between my instances and main rig to get the coins in my main wallet? Do I need to watch all the instances, or is having one with putty opened displaying watch 'primecoind getbalance "" & primecoind getmininginfo' enough? I don't suggest sharing the wallet.dat, but it will probably work fine if you aren't mining too many. My suggestion on how to move mined coins around is in the OP. Thanks again rethaw...I did read it, but wasn't sure I was doing everything right.

Remember folks, if you're doing this, keep your primecoind updated: cd ~/primecoin git pull cd src make -f makefile.unix USE_UPNP=- primecoind stop mv /usr/local/bin/primecoind /usr/local/bin/primecoind.old mv primecoind /usr/local/bin/primecoind primecoind --daemon
No need to add the url or nothing else to update like that? I've been manually removing and reinstalling each time... Also, what about wallets...If I have the same wallet.dat in all my rigs, that should be enough?

Does anyone know what to launch the wallet with so it automatically starts mining? In windows.
I have my mining rigs set to reboot every 6 hours and want to set the primecoin wallet to auto start.
like. "D:\Program Files (x86)\Primecoin\primecoin-qt.exe" -something?
Or can i make a bat to do it?
You need to create a primecoin.conf file in the %appdata%/primecoin folder. Edit it and write a line that says gen=1 to automine on start. Then use the start with windows option in the wallet itself.

New stuff? I'll check it out... Mikaelh's miner did increase block rate.

Maybe you need to remake a swap file
OH, yeah, forgot about swap! May have to enable it again. For you guys with the same problem: # 1Gb swap sudo dd if=/dev/zero of=/swapfile bs=64M count=16 sudo mkswap /swapfile sudo swapon /swapfile

How do i replace the ancient version with the new one, without delete/recreate my droplet? And keeping the same wallet
I replace it. Here, lete me help you out some on linux. I move the old files out and then create a new section. primecoind stop cd ~ mv primecoin old4 git clone https://github.com/mikaelh2/primecoincd ~/primecoin/src make -f makefile.unix USE_UPNP=- mkdir ~/.primecoin echo "rpcuser=miner2 rpcpassword=test2 gen=1" > ~/.primecoin/primecoin.conf sudo mv primecoind /usr/local/bin/. primecoind --daemon -Wstack-protector -D_FORTIFY_SOURCE=2 -MMD -MF obj/main.d -o obj/main.o main.cpp g++: internal compiler error: Killed (program cc1plus) Please submit a full bug report, with preprocessed source if appropriate. See <file:///usr/share/doc/gcc-4.7/README.Bugs> for instructions. make: *** [obj/main.o] Error 4

How do i replace the ancient version with the new one, without delete/recreate my droplet? And keeping the same wallet
Good question...I tried but get a fatal error after doing the make upnp line. If you guys are talking about this other guys build you need to run: sudo apt-get install libgmp-dev ...before make. Tried, got the same error...trying again. @96redformula, thanks a lot man.

Add "USE_UPNP=0" in the compile line. If that doesn't work try "USE_UPNP= ".
use USE_UPNP= as USE_UPNP=0 still builds with UPNP but disables it per default Hmmm, I'll try again in a while. Another quick question, sorry for being a linux noob before anyone jumps at my neck. I want to receive the funds as they come, in my wallet, and not have to importprivkey each time I mine a block. How should I go about that? (using vps to mine)

Mikaelh, I'm getting fatal errors when compiling it... :/ Ubuntu 13.04 64bits That's descriptive. Well, yeah, when I do the make upnps thingie, it throws a fatal error. That's condescending...
