So with the diff change to 10+ now do we still use the default parameters when solo mining? Or should there be some changes to optimize the process?
Good question, and how do you apply the new formula mikaelh posted? Say I have 0.433335 cpd...I get something like this (which makes no sense): 0,43335 * (1 - 10.1326 + 0.035) huh O.o

What about deposits done after this!? I thought it was down temporarily, does that mean I lost days of mining profit???
Yes you will have lost profit if you didn't have a failover set in your miner. But it can't be that important if it's taken you like 30hours to notice there is an outage. Funny guy eh? I noticed the site was down, but thought it was DDOS and I was rather busy lately. I'm not using the pool, but rather having another pool deposit coins there. Am I screwed or not? Simple question, I'd appreciate an answer and not mockery, thanks. Yeah your coins will probably be in there, I always try to send them to a wallet on a secure computer so then one doesn't have to worry about such things. What about deposits done after this!? He's actually right, despite being a troll and saying obvious shit. Ignore list for him. And fuck, I hope I didn't lose mining profits cause of this crap...if I did, well, I had it coming for not using a regular wallet client.

I've mined PTS early and its profitability was ungodly due to the broken diff adjustment and many people not understanding how to mine it. Now, I'm not so sure it's worth it. I've gone back to XPM because I don't have to keep up with the latest dumb stuff happening over there, it just works.
+1 I used to split resources but not anymore.

Thanks Sairon! I'll try it out now... EDIT: wow! 30 sec indeed...downloading blocks now. Thanks man!

it is a problem with pushpool itself as it somehow keeps connections established instead of closing it (and yes - I am using block notify scripts ). After few days it is so overloaded (EDIT: sometimes there is 200000 established connections to yac port!) that there are more and more rejects - the only solution is to restart pushpool daemon. There is no such problems with stratum server so thats why this is important (no only for me but also for miners) IMHO that should be fairly easy to fix. I can take a look after wrapping up the YAC client. BTW, already achieved massive speedup on startup - need more donations! YAC price will surely spike after we release it, haha! To the Moon! ┗(°0°)┛ Yac price is recovering nicely...usd value has increased afaik. Now I need to get a proper wallet, mine isn't updating the blockchain after a certain point

Is there anything like Butterfly labs ASICs for YAC?
Nope, but you can get cheap servers at ebay at times...dual cpu rigs run you 400. You can also mine primes on one cpu to finance the power costs :p

|
Will someone test the 290x on YACoin??
I'm guessing it would be pretty sweet...I'll try as soon as I find a local guy selling Powercolor 290s. Those unlock 100%

I may have enough for one share, waiting for funds from an investor. I'll let you know asap.
To everyone: Chuck999 is a 1000% trustworthy guy, I've been a part of his previous group buy and it was really succesful and transparent all along. So don't be afraid to invest in him.

Nice. I just got up with pooled mining on DigitalOcean and will update the OP soon!
Thanks for saving me from digging through the forums ivanlabrie.
No prob, you might wanna add warriorvps, windows azure, hpcloud.com and slicify.com...

I have a contact for "high risk" Credit cards if anyone wants to pursue it
You mean to get "carded" gear? I don't think that's appropriate for this thread bro.

That may be an amazing idea, YAC atm, debit cards that work anywhere in the world...payment processor for stores. Heck yeah
|
|

I wanted to mine there but it tells me my account has been locked (?)

I wish Nice write up on the economic side of YAC St. Bit, appreciated that link.

Nice, hope that coming soon message doesn't last long...exciting news.

I read somewhere that Windows 7 has trouble seeing more than 3 video cards. Is this still a problem? Was it ever?
I also want to build something to mine scrypt coins. Right now I have some USB asics and a few computers doing some CPU mining. If you were going to build a rig, lets say with 6 video cards R9 280x. Which motherboard would you choose? Has anyone tried that new asrock?
Any motherboard should do, as long as you use powered pci-e risers and good cooling. And yeah, win 7 doesn't take more than 4 gpus normally, but I think there's a workaround. Linux is better, use litecoin BAMT.

my preference is the 290 (non-x) as well, since some report 880 hasrates with good hash/power ration, also gives a good hash-density at the machine. but since i don't like the reference layout/blower, I will go for a 280x right now. technology has been around, so I expect them to be more reliable for now. (also good deals available)
ordered a sapphire 280x dual-x to see if it is voltage unlocked (40G full retail model, since it was cheaper than the lite retail). will put it on an old amd64 board to see/check and wait until other components arrive.
for testing i want to go with windows first, should i go with win7 /8 /8.1 or doesn't that matter?
recommendations of drivers/software and versions? installation order?
thanks for any advice, will keep you updated...
dual 280X is nice...win 7 64 bit, driver: 12.8 for optimal hash rate. Settings see consolidated litecoin mining guide here.
