Where's the fun in crossfire for gaming then?  Cool

starting to feel pretty pointless soloing on just 2 280x @ this point i'd be happy to find a 10chain just to know the latest version is working... stats seems good but yeh i'm about ready to throw in the towel here.

That's the down side of solo mining when a coin is too high in diff, luck/chance is low. At least with a pool, the luck is distributed more equally and with the help of the pool of miners combine hash power.

I haven't pulled in a 10-ch and/or a block for the past 28 hours. Even though the stat are better in the latest miner and the diff has changed a bit for the past couple of days.

I mine on and off and manage to find blocks...4th so far. Found a 10ch and a block today after 12 hours running. Cheesy
Miner's off and I'm playing BF4 lol

"This has never been a problem before because it doesn't impact actual mining performance and I use .bat files to launch all the other miners I use and apply the clock speeds and whatnot within said .bat files."

Correct me if i'm wrong here but he's saying it already works for scrypt don't see how it wont work... not sure u even need dummy plugs these days u just disable ULPS. Unless this is some issue caused by nvidia card and amd card in the same system which i've never done so cant say.

I've had nvidia/amd rigs before, trust me...he may apply clocks in the bat files but they won't do squat without a dummy or a monitor.

Somehow google translate isn't translating stuff on the go cause the site is in "English".
Podria postear en español y tampoco sería apropiado...most people will understand English (despite how sad that makes you or me lol)

So I have a problem I'm hoping someone can solve. This machine runs a 560 TI in the 'main' pci slot as main video/games/etc card, and a visiontek R9 270x in the 2nd as a full time scrypt miner. Due to amd+nvidia in one machine, the r9 really does not like to properly read out temps(i manually keep that under control, no worries there) or allow changes made in MSI Afterburner, and has a readout of zero on every sliderbar in MSI.

This has never been a problem before because it doesn't impact actual mining performance and I use .bat files to launch all the other miners I use and apply the clock speeds and whatnot within said .bat files. Being that this miner doesn't run that way like CGminer/SGminer/etc, can anyone recommend a workaround? I don't know how to enter any variables currently, so it simply runs at default settings, getting 0.60 expected CPD.

You need a dummy plug to be able to oc and whatnot...

you can also start cgminer with a bat file containing the clock speed u want for ur 270x and simply close it after it starts, afterwards the drivers remember  the settings Smiley until u reboot the machine or change them some other way.

Nope won-t work without ADL *he 100% needs a dummy plug in windows.
766  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: April 06, 2014, 09:38:29 PM

thanks

"" We are serving more than three million dollars a day to resell the bitcoin we break ourselves," said Sam Cole , founder and vice president of KNC Miner with 80 employees and offices on West Higgins Road in central Stockholm. "

Impossible...3600 BTC a day at $450 will be just $1.62mil total market output. Cannot be $3 mil/day.

It has to be impossible. What organization has that kind of money to buy all that bitcoin daily? NONE.

It's only 360 btc or about $150k USD now.

well, if organofcorti info is correct, then KnC is getting 0.13X3600=468BTC/day or $212K, but who is counting?  Wink

I think that they had this plan (using preorders to built datorhall) all along. That was the whole point of seemingly moronic and naive "network protection plan".
What they were telling us is this: we will not sell any more jupiters to you, but we are free to build anything we want-and they did.
I actually never expected anything else because all seemingly good-natured pronouncements always end up being a bunch of baloney.
Remember Google-"don't be evil"? Ha!

Sadly the btc community needs a few henchmen...lol

I only mined two blocks and quit...was a good idea.

Merge mined aiden and frk...sounds good. Good luck dev!

Does anyone know a YAC config for gtx 780 classified? Using t9x21 overclocked at +100 core clock right now and getting 4.4-5.5 khs.

cudaminer.exe -s 10 --algo=scrypt-jane:YAC -i 0 -C 2 -b 8192 -L 6 -l t12x32 -m 1 -o stratum+tcp://yac.coinmine.pl:9088 -u ivanlabrie.1 -p x

7.5kh/s

Without getting personal I'll agree to disagree...I meant that the NSA isn't the cause of the botnets, but rather criminal intent behind malware distributed via ads or whatever.

Never intended to discredit your knowledge but rather your assertions defending botnets.
772  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [ASIC-RESISTANT] UltraCoin (UTC) - Ultrafast 6 second transactions!! on: April 06, 2014, 06:36:06 PM
Two R9 270x, 28kh/s, No H/W

--lookup-gap 4 --scrypt-jane --sj-nfmin 4 --sj-nfmax 30 --sj-time 1388361600 -I 16,16 -w 128 --thread-concurrency 40960 -g 1 --gpu-powertune 20 --temp-cutoff 90 --temp-overheat 85 --queue 0 --no-submit-stale --scan-time 1
Glad you got it working but I'm not going from 93kh/s on the last n factor to 28kh/s on this one. I'm going somewhere else until someone can find settings that will produce at least 38-40 kh/s with no HW errors. I tried for 5 hours to no avail.

lol keep daydreaming...

Try this, download yacminer 3.5 and use the following settings:

--scrypt-chacha --nfmin 4 --nfmax 30 --starttime 1388361600 --no-submit-stale --expiry 10 --scan-time 1 --queue 0 --gpu-engine 1120 --gpu-memclock 1200 --gpu-fan 0-100 --temp-target 75 --temp-cutoff 100 --temp-overheat 90 --auto-gpu --auto-fan --rawintensity 5120 --buffer-size 1698 -g 1 -w 256 --lookup-gap 4

+1 i7 3820 at 4ghz has more than enough oomph, but still 9 was the best.
Maybe with a dual xeon beast 11 will work. (my dream setup, dual 12 core xeon, asus 7 pci-e slot equipped server board and a ton of ram lol...oh and 7 r9 280x's for this miner)

Clearly someone has a botnet cluster, comprised of granny computers from around the globe eh? lol
NSA? What the heck you talkin bout?

See how well the other "cpu only" coins did...price kept going down and down.
775  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [ASIC-RESISTANT] UltraCoin (UTC) - Ultrafast 6 second transactions!! on: April 06, 2014, 04:27:57 PM
Guys, trust me, use yacminer 3.5...it's way more intuitive to just set a lookup-gap value and a buffer-size one and then work on tuning -R (rawintensity). Should be using multiples of the worksize and that's about it.
776  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [XPM] [ANN] Primecoin Release - First Scientific Computing Cryptocurrency on: April 06, 2014, 04:09:52 PM
New primegpu gave me a nice perf boost with my cpu and 280x cards...brilliant!
License is only 35 xpm now, not bad.
I like solo mining  Grin

(not dumping btw, holding xpm like a baws)

hi, cant seem to find the settings for UTC for the current n-factor.. what does buffer size means?

It mean show much vram you're allocating for the miner to use.

You can more often than not find the sweetspot using 80%-90% of the total ram. Do the math and experiment, then set lookup gap to 1,2,3,4 following the guidelines in the readme.

For UTC you can still use lg 3 or 4 with most higher end cards, and more or less get away with -R equal to 4 times the shader count and -g 1. lg 3 will demand you cut down on -R but you'll have to experiment yourself.
I find getting more than 0 HW unacceptable.

What's the problem with gpus?

Cpu mining favors botnets, and you know as well as I do that those guys don't give a damn and will dump till the coin reaches 0.

Embrace gpus, don't be fools! A balanced gpu algo that favors all kinds of gpus and normalizes hash rates between people with different kinds of hardware would be nice, like scrypt-chacha N 14 does (most gpus get between 2 and 5kh/s, and cpus get between 0.25 and 1kh/s ...better for descentralization if everyone gets similar hash rates).

I'm currently getting 60kh on 1 x R9 290.(No overclocking) - This is from some settings posted earier

Is anyone getting anymore? ... and would be willing to help me out
BTW - i have 16GB of RAM - but will be using it on an 8GB system

Thanks
I'm currently getting 81 kh on 2 x R9 290.(No overclocking)

Is that 81kh on each card?
yes

Do you want to share your settings? Smiley

So does anyone else have any settings for R9 290s? That gives over 60
Its getting a real pain having to restart the computer each time the settings dont work Sad

You can disable the gpu in the control panel and enable it again to avoid restarting the pc (winblows).

Can be done via cmd as well, using a bat to automate the process. You need something called devcon.
Google it, can't remember where I got it from.

It would be interesting if the latest changes to the yacoin client could be implemented in UTC. Coin control, and more advanced staking features.
780  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][YAC] Yacminer GPU miner for Yacoin on: April 06, 2014, 03:02:01 PM
When using yacminer one of my cards seem to be lagging behind. Works fine with cgminer. Does anyone know a good fix for this?

You've probably over-allocated memory and it's swapped into dynamic memory, which is slow... run hwinfo or gpuz and look at each cards' memory allocation

Sometimes a fresh boot fixes that. Sometimes you need to allocate less memory (buffer-size) or reduce -R
