941  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][YAC] Yacminer GPU miner for Yacoin on: March 27, 2014, 10:29:29 AM
I got up to 2.6kh/s with an R9 270 at 1120mhz core and 1480mhz memory.

Mining UTC I got it to do 92kh/s with the following config: yacminer.exe -o stratum+tcp://ultra.nitro.org:3337 -u ivanlabrie.1 -p x --scrypt-chacha --nfmin 4 --nfmax 30 --starttime 1388361600 --no-submit-stale --expiry 10 --scan-time 1 -d 3 --remove-disabled --queue 0 --gpu-engine 0-1100,0-1100,0-1100,0-1100 --gpu-memclock 1000,1000,1000,1200 --gpu-fan 70-100 --temp-target 85 --temp-cutoff 100 --temp-overheat 90 --auto-gpu --auto-fan --rawintensity 5120 --buffer-size 1400 -g 1 -w 256 --lookup-gap 2

Performance has gone down, and power usage swings wildy with HVC now...I don't get it.
After running anything past v0.1, performance degraded, from 16mh/s to 14mh/s, and nothing else changed.
I used to get a constant stream of YAY!'s at 15-16mh/s mining at the same HVC pools.
I don't get it...and it sucks Sad
Compile ccminer 0.4 with cuda 6.0, add options compile to CUDA command line -ftz=true -prec-div=false -prec-sqrt=false with compute_30,sm_30
For 2x750ti MSI + 660ti MSI on 1gh have:

I'll give it a try...back to reading page 130 it seems :p

944  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: DigitalCoin.Co | Secure. Established. Active Development | V2.0 Core Announced on: March 26, 2014, 12:54:19 PM
I am going to use a custom difficulty algorithm in the upcoming 2.0 update. It is yet to be named.

Nice, and what about a change of mining algorithm while you're at it?

This would bring some more interest from miners back into DGC, since scrypt asics are a reality already and caused huge difficulty spikes in the LTC network lately, which will only increase drastically.

I'm not a fan of huge centralized mining cartels, hosted by ASIC manufacturers themselves but well, up to you guys.
945  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][BTL] Bitleu - a cryptocurrency for Romania - ASIC and MultiPool proof ! on: March 26, 2014, 12:50:45 PM
Shoot for Poloniex as the next exchange if you want to. Dev write a nice email to poloniex admin if you didn`t , i would reconsider trying to add BTL on cryptorush until everything starts to cool down, they are having issues atm...

Cryptorush never felt quite right...all exchanges can scam people, but cryptorush happened to be awful too.

It was fun, but pointless...Dev needs a PR team, and more common sense next time.

I don't think the system will boot, if one card is not powered.
(I forgot once to plug the 6/8pins connectors of one card, got a message at boot time telling me the card wasn't powered, it didn't go any further)

But it should be fine if i have the cards booted before i boot the system? This bit is confusing to me, as i cant move my system to another case (watercooling)

And i cant really afford to have another entire system running aswell as the gpus

Won't work, you need some sort of dual psu adapter to make the start at the same time. Easy to make your own, with a long cable lol

Long live yac Grin

The original scrypt-chacha coin.

pool?
none yet but you shouldnt need one if you compile the gpu miner.

sorry, but what do you mean by compile the gpu miner?  i am new to solo mining... thanks.

No need to compile (make your own executable files). You can download them premade, from the cudaminer thread and the relevant amd thread.
950  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [MYR] Myriad - Multi Algo - SHA or Scrypt or Qubit or Skein or Groestl on: March 26, 2014, 10:30:57 AM
I'm not sure, for now making a dedicated sha3 coin mining asic isn't feasible, but given how this coin progresses as time goes by it certainly WILL be justified.

The way vertcoin or scrypt-chacha coins do it works, it'll keep asics away of those algorithms, since the n factor changes are fast, vertcoin not so much. I can see people making asics for it, as long as the developer keeps the current one year time frame. I don't think constant hard forks are good for the coin's image though, so I can see that as a problem in the future, given that vtc's asic resistance is it's main selling point, basically litecoin 2.0.

Myriad is ahead with the way it includes and welcomes all miners, and all types of devices. I'm specially fond of the groestl algo for older cards, and the skein and qubit one run great on newer hardware, whilst saving power.

A hard fork shouldn't be necessary for now, as long as it's more profitable for asic manufacturers to focus on scrypt and sha256 we should be safe. If it turns out to be needed, then I'd suggest incorporating a high N factor algo in the mix, maybe to replace qubit or skein and maybe implement X11 instead of the other? AFAIK drk's algo is asic proof too, but not sure how much ram it uses, it can be adapted to asics eventually as well.

N factor 12 and up scrypt-chacha equalizes old hardware with newer hardware, gpu ram and system ram being the limiting factor, in relation to the amount of shaders.
Since most cards are equipped with 1 to 4gb vram buffers, this causes lower end cards with more ram to perform equally as well to higher end cards with the same amount of ram and more shaders*

(the algorithm uses big amounts of ram per thread, and to saturate all shaders with work and max out hash rate you need more ram than the gpu has, at least with 90% of the cards out there, forcing you to use lookup gap to diminish the thread's ram usage, which introduces a performance penalty, which can be softened by a high core overclock)
951  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] cudaMiner - a new litecoin mining application [Windows/Linux] on: March 26, 2014, 10:21:15 AM
Is there a way to choose which gpu to mine with this ccminer v0.4? When i put -d 0 and it refuses to start,

This is something im interested in as i wish to run a 750 on each of the nvidia coins. So i need them all on different algos

-t 1 ?

It won't do what you want though... :/
952  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [MYR] Myriad - Multi Algo - SHA or Scrypt or Qubit or Skein or Groestl on: March 25, 2014, 11:33:59 PM
Anyway, did you noticed how things are moving in scrypt disfavour?
Lot of coins like Dark coin, and Myriad coins are gaining huge popularity as everyone is scarred of 100 MHs KNC ASIC Cheesy
we should promote this coin hard way!

But you do know that this coin is asic friendly ?

+1 sha3 asics exist. I posted proof a few pages ago but nobody bothered to read my post.
I like myr but of it gets any bigger basics can be developed to mine it easily. and I'm talking skein, keccak and groestl not just scrypt and sha256.

954  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] cudaMiner - a new litecoin mining application [Windows/Linux] on: March 25, 2014, 02:45:20 PM
How much are you guys getting with groestl?

10mh/s between my 780 and 750ti seems kinda low.
955  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [ASIC-RESISTANT] UltraCoin (UTC) - Newly Launched on: March 25, 2014, 02:20:41 PM
I've gone through lots of N changes with YAC and until the coin goes past n factor 12, gpu miners will rape since it's easy to setup.
Once we get past that threshold, it'll get harder and harder to tweak and better for the small guy.

I think that's a big selling point, n factor changes alone introduce better coin distribution, avoiding multipool dumps, big centralization of coins in small groups, and gradually equalize the mining power of cpu and gpus, even within high and low end gpu owners.

That in itself is huge, say you have an R7 240 2gb like I do, and you want to mine YAC right now. You'll get 2.5kh/s out of it if you know how to tweak it, while some guy with an R9 270 2gb will only get 2.7kh/s out of it, and a guy with a GTX 780 will get 7kh/s.

Compare the cost of those cards, and the coins mined per day, it makes the coin way GREENER and easily distributable amongst people of varying wallet sizes :p, no need to own a farm to mine some UTC after N 12. Anyone can, and it'll be way more efficient if you use lower end gear like an integrated gpu inside your AMD apu or an R7 240 2gb or similar card that draws only 25w whilst mining.

may-be of interest: populace coin
"Based on super secure Hash which includes six kind of Encryption Algorithm (blake, bmw, groestl, jh, keccak, skein)and nine round of operation, POC can be only extracted by CPU, not by Asic or Gpu, to avoid operation monopoly, Which keeps high participatory and strong security."

lol, the Christian duo will crack that in two days.

this should be the default bamt miner.
958  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] cudaMiner - a new litecoin mining application [Windows/Linux] on: March 23, 2014, 06:38:17 PM
I am but I've been using it from day one and without making any changes to the system mining speeds went down recently.
959  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] cudaMiner - a new litecoin mining application [Windows/Linux] on: March 23, 2014, 05:35:45 PM
I'm using a 780 and a 750ti.
reboot did nothing, other algorithms work fine, even fugue.
hvc is slow now and I don't get it. it used to work fine, with both versions of ccminer (only that v0.1 closed after mining for an hour or so)

shared memory? hmmm
960  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] cudaMiner - a new litecoin mining application [Windows/Linux] on: March 23, 2014, 02:40:13 PM
@Christian

Does ccminer 0.2 have speed improvements in HVC as well?

I don't think it does...barely any difference here. Fugue yeah, 2x on 750 ti.

No,it doesn't. If you read the thread,Christian mentioned it should be more or less the same, but some people seem to have lower hashes with v0.2,while for others it's the same.

I get lower hashes with both now...not sure why. pissing me off
