241  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero - Secure, private, untraceable cryptocurrency on: June 20, 2014, 01:57:05 AM
thx guys , what is a decent hash rate?

Depends on the gear...100h/s+ for a cpu is good, for a gpu 200+.
242  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Whattomine - profitability website with basic api. on: June 19, 2014, 11:13:40 PM
Hey fredeq, you should consider adding cryptonote coins...whatmine sucks brah.
243  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Vertcoin | Scrypt N | Beat ASIC | Stealth Address - Alpha Testing on: June 19, 2014, 08:23:10 PM
I'll leave this here: http://site.covestor.com/why-active-management-is-better-than-passive

To the "buy and hold" guys of the world...that's plain stupid, having confidence in the overall bullishness of the market is risky and reckless.

Excellent news...was thinking of working on a similar project heh.

Will be happy to invest.  Cool
245  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [FCN][MRO][QCN][BCN] GUI miner on: June 18, 2014, 11:32:50 PM
hi guys, i'm newbie here..
is it good to have ~60 H/s for i7-3630QM running with 4 cores ?

Nope, super low...try this miner instead: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=632724.0

Play with core count, 3 threads might be better.
246  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [POOL][BTC][LTC][BCN][MRO][QCN][FCN][duck] Minergate on: June 18, 2014, 11:31:47 PM
I got very quick responses with my latest support tickets...didn't have to withdraw anything yet though.
We'll see how it goes.
247  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore MRO/QCN/FCN/BCN GPU Miner v2.2 on: June 18, 2014, 11:31:08 PM
And if I may to say: there is nothing so special in Catalyst 13.12. I install latest drivers and didnot loose even one hash/sec... So if someone has problems with 13.12 then tray later version...

Not so accurate...with my 290 I see a big big difference, because of the memory allocation bug of opencl.
248  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Vertcoin | Scrypt N | Beat ASIC | Stealth Address - Alpha Testing on: June 18, 2014, 08:49:19 PM
Is it possible to mine Vertcoin with Scrypt rigs rented on betarigs ?

Thanks

Only if they are scrypt n factor...
249  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore MRO/QCN/FCN/BCN GPU Miner v2.2 on: June 18, 2014, 02:26:01 PM
I received several msg asking me to give my workaround for connecting claymore to minergate.
I can give you the solution i found, but it's just for the proof of concept.

Claymore can't connect to the pool for devfee, so the miner try to reconnect every 5 sec, and after some amount of time, stop mining with a message.(something like 5 minutes or so)
Claymore can't merge mine neither, we will need a special miner for that (i think).

But mining on minergate with claymore would be already very good. The best thing you can do if you also want to, is to ask the dev if he could make a version which can.
Claymore is closed source, with 5% fee. I have no problems with that, but please listen to us !

Ok, I'll add this pool Smiley

...and what about merge mine support there? Wink

Hello everyone, there is a thread discussion what you would like to see in an open source GPU miner for Cryptonight algorithm coins here. Please discuss what you would like to see in a GPU miner similar to Claymore's excellent miner Smiley

Merge mine support  Cool
250  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore MRO/QCN/FCN/BCN GPU Miner v2.2 on: June 18, 2014, 12:09:23 PM
Do you take in account that on extreme pool your shares "wait" 60 blocks to mature? afaik on minergate shares are immediately sent toy your account

For BCN, 9 hours later, total is ~70K for gpu and 57K for cpu on minergate. I should have more than 100K with GPU.

I managed to connect claymore to minergate, it works, but of course devfee can't connect to it.

DevFee: Failed to invoke login, retry in 5sec...
So, minergate see my miner, but less of what my miner can do (400H/s instead of 500), because the miner spend a lot of time trying to mine for the dev. - and 0 H/s for the dev obviously, and that not the goal.

SOMETHING IS WRONG WITH DEVFEE CONNECTION. STOP MINING.
and sometimes, a disconnect Wink

Dev, for making a minergate version of your miner, you "just have" to make a version that send a login + mdp instead of a wallet address (i mean, for the dev fee) or mining for the devfee on a pool of your choice instead of mining on the same as user - for connecting to minergate, i found a workaround.
Please let us the choice where to mine, it's win/win
Can you explain how to connect to minergate?!

Doesn't work here...cpu runs well though. I get better hash with wolf's miner though, compared to their stock one.
251  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero - Secure, private, untraceable cryptocurrency on: June 18, 2014, 04:55:25 AM
You can merge mine (any CN coin) with FantomCoin, but I think FantomCoin is worthless.

I wanna dump fcn, and hold monero...where do you merge mine these?

minergate.com seems to be a scam, afaik.

A scam? I have used Minergate since day one without any issues.

I mean, I heard bad things...couldn't find where to select my mro and fcn addresses.
Got any tips?
252  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero - Secure, private, untraceable cryptocurrency on: June 18, 2014, 04:54:48 AM
they dump attempts to get cheap coins Smiley

And cheap coins we shall have...people are hardly even selling, I'm astonished Cheesy
253  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore MRO/QCN/FCN/BCN GPU Miner v2.2 on: June 18, 2014, 04:53:25 AM
I continue with my testing :

BCN this time (no DDOS on pool so far)

CPU on minergate (with merge mining) : between 900H/s and 1200H/s seen by pool : 57K after 6 hours
GPU with pool (extrempool) : ~2400H/s : 46K after 6 hours.

I really don't understand why ther is such a difference.
I already tested with MRO on two different pool (cryptopool-fr and wolf), on QCN, and now with BCN. I always have less or barely more with GPU than with cpu on minergate..instead of 2 times more at least.

Next test : cpu and GPU on the same pool, with two differents address to control if the problem is pool or miner (i think it's pool, but i have to verify)

I asked dev for a version wich can mine to minergate's pool (even without merge mining - and still with a fee for him), but he doesn't want.
Solo is not possible neither.

How are you getting 1200H/s on Minergate with CPU?  I have an i7 4771 and I'm getting around 140 H/s

How are you even withdrawing coins is my question...I don't see where to input my address, and I heard bad things about the pool.
254  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero - Secure, private, untraceable cryptocurrency on: June 18, 2014, 01:24:04 AM
Let them dump, I'm buying a lot...the cheaper the better.

Sorry,if posted.
Can i merge mine xmr with another cryptonote coins with gpu?
Thanks.

Doesn't seem like it...anyone knows if there's a legit merge mining enabled pool?
257  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [POOL][BTC][LTC][BCN][MRO][QCN][FCN][duck] Minergate on: June 17, 2014, 11:35:49 PM
Where do you select your withdrawal address anyway?

Interesting idea...

I took your "maths" and applied it to btc-e btc/USD.

I got a "average" of $399. That is pretty bearish. I have liquidated all my btc as it is only worth $399, it is $150 more right now. I'm going to make a killing with this new fancy calculations.....

  Roll Eyes Roll Eyes

It will not necessarily go as low as that, but when market sentiment is bullish the average price is close to the current price or even above it and usually after that the price starts rising. That's what I noticed anyway from observing order books, take it with a grain of salt.

<- This guy here: makes a killing trading...lol.

Orderbook, seriously???

Price action is what matters, you calculate pivot, support and resistance out of open, high, low and close prices at any given timeframe.
Go learn some trading before spreading fud, thank you.

@qora: amazing, glad to see progress.  Cool

Hehe you're hilarious, Don't mock people when you clearly have no idea what you're talking about.

There is no open and close price when trading cryptocurrencies. The market is always open. It's not the friggin nasdaq monkey boy.

I know it doesn't 'close' per se, still, candlestick charts exist and those have ohlc DUH...you can apply the same technical analysis tools and indicators to crypto.

As for the orderbook, looking at the orderbook is noobish at best, it can be manipulated by people placing and removing bids and asks, which makes it useless.
