my wallet must be closed to run the program right?Does it connect to my wallet.dat auto? And overclocking the cards helps finding blocks faster or not?

Yes, and yes.

Cpu overclock doesn't make much difference...only gpu and system ram clocks/timings make any difference for me.
622  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [MYR] Myriad - Multi Algo - SHA or Scrypt or Qubit or Skein or Groestl on: April 28, 2014, 05:25:55 AM
Can anyone here help me mine some Myriad? I just got a new graphics card and have tried multiple times to setup cudaminer and ccminer with no success. I know this has probably been asked many times, but I can't seem to find any guides or step-by-step instructions. I have nVidia GTX 750 and have an ASIC on the way. Also planning on building some AMD mining rigs. WTF am I doing wrong?

ccminer.exe --algo=myr-gr stratum+tcp://myriadscrypt.cryptopools.com:3335 -u username.worker:password

You're mining groestl at a scrypt pool.

Use cudaminer for that pool, or pick a groestl algo pool from the op.

Syntax:

cudaminer -m 1 -l T5x24 stratum+tcp://myriadscrypt.cryptopools.com:3335 -u username.worker:password

Must be schewed...

How do you use the free version? Only one exe?
624  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] MON | Monocle | Merge Mined on VTC Vertcoin - No Premine - Scrypt-N on: April 27, 2014, 10:38:37 PM
Why a new coin?

What is the difference with VTC?

It's a merge mined coin, you can mine VTC and also get MON.
The idea is to have a sidechain (meaning a mirror of the VTC blockchain but independent to it to a certain extent) to test or implement new stuff, whilst adding the cool "merge mined" factor to VTC.

Cheesy

Following this closely...  Cool

why doesn't the wallet software have a "check for program updates" option? Seems like thats a popular and very useful feature for certain software programs, like, everything.

That wouldn't hurt...very true.
627  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] cudaMiner - a new litecoin mining application [Windows/Linux] on: April 26, 2014, 09:29:52 PM
How to use the NVIDIA?
X11 CUDA how to dig
doesn't exist yet...

we took a detour and did the fastest Jackpotcoin miner on the planet

the coin has a serious design flaw, you only need to mine Keccak, and ignore
all the other hashes.

nice to know about Buchner funnels. Hadn't come accross them yet
(although I did use the CUDA funnel shifter before)

just like quark and it's clones.. cough cough Dark coin lol

Would be fun if true... :p
628  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Vertcoin | Scrypt N | Beat ASICs | Must upgrade wallet due to a bug in OpenSSL on: April 26, 2014, 07:30:53 PM
There's no mystery in a scrypt-n gpu miner...wasn't it intended as a gpu coin from day one anyway?

Drk's algo is random hash functions tossed together for the heck of it, I like the halved power consumption but it merely means miners are not optimized for it yet.
629  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] sph-sgminer: multi-coin multi-algorithm GPU miner | added MaruCoin on: April 24, 2014, 10:18:52 PM
Glad you sorted it out mate Cheesy

I find 13.11 beta or 13.12 to be better than newer drivers for r9 280x and 290 cards.

631  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: April 24, 2014, 07:04:56 PM
Why are all you guys refunding?

Which company is trust able and can deliver asic SCRYPT miners this summer other than knc I dont want to risk with knc as they sound shady as hell. Please suggest minimum 150mhs.

I don't think it has anything to do with the ability to produce a product, if you read the thread, you may find it has everything to do with how KnC decided to go off on a jolly and produce a dat0rhall to compete directly with their customers. Which, incidentally, they will do exactly the same with SCRYPT. A leopard does not change it's spots.

I'd reccomend you just either buy BTC and hold, or do some trading, OR invest in a gpu farm for alternate algo coins.
632  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [ASIC-RESISTANT] UltraCoin (UTC) - Ultrafast 6 second transactions!! on: April 24, 2014, 03:53:48 AM

UTC Multipool

I am happy o announce that a multipool for UltraCoin is now ready.
It is in a test version now. Stratum server is not connect to any coin yet. I think tomorrow we will be ready to mine so get your hashes ready Smiley

http://UTCmultipool.com

Regards,
HF

So is this basically 4 different multipools paying out in UTC (one for each algo)? I assume scrypt-N adaptive applies just to current VertCoin NFactor (10)?

Keccak, scrypt, scrypt-n 11 and sha256.

Hope it helps lazy miners get some UTC then :p
633  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Vertcoin | Scrypt N | Beat ASICs | Must upgrade wallet due to a bug in OpenSSL on: April 23, 2014, 09:07:14 PM
I recommended to othe a little bit back that VertCoin be merge mined with PrimeCoin now, as I see PrimeCoin, now with open source GPU mining, as being the main competitor.

I'm not sure what will happen with VertCoin in the long run, but the network hash rate has been falling and I suspect this is the reason.

Primecoin is pretty damn cool, but I don't know about that.

I don't mine maru, but based on past experience mining "cpu" coins, some pools need you to adjust a higher diff to your workers to avoid getting HW.

Setting wise, maybe try my x11 batch?

-I 19 -g 1 --thread-concurrency 16384 -w 256

or

-I 13 -g 2 --thread-concurrency 8192 -w 256

Just add the correct kernel flag and play with core and memory clocks, I found out x11 likes higher clocks than scrypt.

I mine fine at myr.nonce...but the p2pool in the op gives me HW.
I downloaded the latest build from the op.
HW? Not just rejects?

Yup, hw...

Same settings too.

And those HW error appears only after few seconds of running miner?
Looks like the old problem with pool's diff. Some pools allow change worker diff by adding a value (i.e. +0.1 ) to worker name. Some does not support this f-tion. And if diff is too low - you get hw errors while mining on gpu because of driver issue.
But I can be wrong Smiley Maybe it's not the same problem I was getting some time ago...

Makes sense...I'll play around with that.
637  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] sph-sgminer: multi-coin multi-algorithm GPU miner | added MaruCoin on: April 23, 2014, 10:40:19 AM
Newer drivers are kind of borked...anything past 13.12 tends to suck or not work 100% (except for primecoin mining with primegpu using windows)

As for the price, let it grow slow and steady, a huge pump is bound to net a just as big correction.

.
Hello Bumface and Dev-team,

I have two questions;

1;
Many (future) traders in UTC are no whizkids, just like me.
When V3 or higher is available, please make the download procedure more easier then now it is at V1020.
So please think about noobs like me, we al have difficulty's with up/downloading of updates because there are big risk at stake because of the treasury in our wallet.
So think with your dev-team about a easy and safe noob-proof setup of the update-procedure for the new and upcoming wallet updates....

2;
I have downloaded, on a new pc, the new wallet V1020 from the website.
When starting/opening the wallet (takes about +10 minute) the UTC-logo is continues seen for about 2/3 on the desktop.
I this normal ?
Can this be changed in V3 ?

+1

I'd suggest looking into Yacoin's new wallet code...interface is excellent and way better for newbs.

Give it time...I'd be happy to use it if diff keeps creeping up.

Xolo is a good guy Cheesy

As for results:

Dual Msi Gaming R9 280X cards at 1075mhz core and 1750mhz memory speeds, and 1075mv.

Way lower power draw vs scrypt, loving it. Cheesy
