The economy could use some work but that can be said about any coin I'd say. All I know is I wish I had bought on the last dip. Just like any other coin timing is everything!
Until proven otherwise you should assume you have no timing edge and just use dollar cost averaging to buy in. It works. That would work, to a certain extent but I prefer to actively manage my portfolio and increase in btc and usd valuation, while aiming to hold a good amount of xmr over time.

Any ideas why the DDOS attacks are so fierce? This little "nobody" of a coin is suddenly catching the attention of the Crypto world and might be a threat to DRK, etc. It is not cheap to constantly do DDOS attacks. Perhaps it is from the same bots that are mining it, but any plans for a P2P miner? Lastly, the huge volume is intense. 480 BTC traded on Poloniex, interesting... Someone is taking notice.
It's pool wars. I don't think it's pool war. No point on getting all the hashing on a single pool. I am more for the Darkcoin suckers option. I could also be professional miners that want to lower the diff while putting down competitors. Don't forget the NVIDIA miners...cbuchner1 has a really powerful gpu miner and is on Monero.

Getting a strange error, hope someone can chime in Started happening after upgrading to the new wallet version *Win 8 64 DDOS thing made that disappear quick...anyone? Just a bug in the program from compiling. A guy named Tom compiled it, guessing you're using one of the binaries? It's nothing to worry about. If it bugs you, restart the daemon and it might make it appear a little less often. His problem is that it isn't starting:) ivanlabrie - delete your p2pstate.bin file, I believe on Windows it is in %AppData%/bitmonero Thanks a lot!

i don't have a billion dollar idea, but the market is leaving VTC alone. While coins evolve VTC is silent and only accepting the natural force. They are not coming up with innovations, they simply try to repeat what other already have done. When i am talking about PR they have to convince investors Why scrypt-n is still up to date and why they don't switch to X11 (for example) many miner complain that vtc is not profitable to mine! I am tired of hearing "the dev is working and there is no time sitting in the forum all the day". Guys are you naive? It is not much work keeping up a solid PR every 2-3 weeks, instead they barely communicate anything. Yup, just look at the price..."We're not concerned with the price" Then who will secure the blockchain if it's not profitable to mine? Jus' sayin'...

I took your "maths" and applied it to btc-e btc/USD. I got a "average" of $399. That is pretty bearish. I have liquidated all my btc as it is only worth $399, it is $150 more right now. I'm going to make a killing with this new fancy calculations..... It will not necessarily go as low as that, but when market sentiment is bullish the average price is close to the current price or even above it and usually after that the price starts rising. That's what I noticed anyway from observing order books, take it with a grain of salt. <- This guy here: makes a killing trading...lol. Orderbook, seriously??? Price action is what matters, you calculate pivot, support and resistance out of open, high, low and close prices at any given timeframe. Go learn some trading before spreading fud, thank you. @qora: amazing, glad to see progress.
