Dog meat festival is a part of china's culture ( if im not mistaken ). People from outside china view it as something that is wrong and immoral, considering that dogs are living beings that are meant to be cared and loved. Dogs dont deserve to be treated this way that's why this festival is criticized by animal welfare and animal rights, though i dont see people complaining about pigs and cows being slaughtered and eaten.
I have been struggling to figure a moral and ethical way to resolve this crisis, and after much thought I have a fully scientifically solution for your consideration. We take 30 dogs for these tests. To qualify the dogs MUST BE peoples' pets. The 30 dogs are put into the cages in the Testing Area, where each day they are presented with two bowls of food (A) dry cereal dogwood, typical of what they've had all their loving life (B) barbecued puppy. Supervising humans with clipboards record whether the dogs ate (A) or (B). At the end of a week, the dogs are released back to their owners with packages of the preferred food. If a statistically significant fraction of the dogs preferred (A) then all dog meat festivals should be banned forever. If a statistically significatantological fraction of the dogs prefer (B) then the matter shall be banned from Twitter. |

Trump underperformed the down-ballot candidates almost everywhere. If the election stands, voters will have voted against Trump, rather than for Biden.
Loeffler should handily win as her opponent is especially radical in a Red state. Loeffler and Collins received a total of ~56% of votes, while her opponent only received ~32.9% of the vote.
There will be a show of force of fake votes, as they figure that after Joe and Hoe take office nobody will come after them and their vote fraud. I suspect it'll be pretty much right out in the open. |

SCOTUS does not have to "reverse the election." They only have to rule that there were enough problems to invalidate the counts, and toss the problem into Congress to be solved.
Doesn't Biden win if it goes to congress? I thought the plan was cancel everyones vote in PA and then convince/bribe/extort the PA electorates to just give Trump votes. And then repeat the process in a couple other states with a few dozen more electorates. Also, do we know for sure SCOTUS will hear the case at all? Don't they have a thing about not hearing cases with zero merit?
Republicans currently control 26 state delegations. Democrats control 22. Two states are essentially tied. The GOP holds more state delegations than Democrats. But this is all decided in the new Congress. Moreover, dozens of House seats aren’t settled yet.
But here’s the problem for Democrats: California has 53 House seats. But California only counts as a solitary vote in a contingent election. By contrast, South Dakota has but one House seat. But, all states are equal in a contingent election. So, it’s possible that South Dakota or other small states would offset California’s presumptive delegation vote for Biden.It's certainly a good question whether SCOTUS will hear a case, but I can think of some avenues of legal pleading that would definitely interest SCOTUS. And of others that would seem to not interest them. |

I am not that convinced about this forest planting theory. Trees do absorb carbon from the atmosphere. But they store the carbon in their wood and release it when they die. Also, in my area I have seen a lot of grasslands being converted to artificial forests. They are disrupting the natural ecology by doing this. The ecosystem that existed earlier won't be able to survive once the trees are planted.
It's interesting how on this thread many have asserted the goodness of planting trees, but not one has made an effort to prove it. This is probably because, of the generality of this information about the benefits of trees in human lives and environments. So the assumptions that people made in this thread are most probably based on that information. In addition, some of the ideas given in this thread are from personal experiences. Speaking as someone who has planted hundreds of trees, and carefully observed which lived, which didn't and why, I'm not convinced that the average person "planting trees because it's a good thing" does anything other than waste their time. Now if they want to learn something, they can all start digging holes under my direction. Why did the room get empty so suddenly? |
