trump pretends on camera to hate russia, uk, china
yet trump is relying on europe and asia for their vaccine trials
....
this is why trump cant get the facts right because like al idiots they dont want the truth they want people to pat them on the back and praise them and comfort them

that is not a sign of a good leader
I suppose you would prefer prima donna Obama, who tossed back to you the bust of Winston Churchill.

Yeah, probably you would.

Oh, by the way, if you want to find out about Trump, just go to the WH website. Don't rely on your lying news sources that are presenting childish stereotypes

Speaking as a non-American who is not that close to the everyday issues US citizens face aside from what my US friends tell me and the things I learn as I try to stay informed, I have to say that your president is a joke. There's no respect for Trump overseas and every time he opens his mouth and speaks I expect a laugh track to follow, like on your American tv sitcoms, because the things he says are ludicrous. And his absolute disregard for human life, any human life besides his own, is a very telling example of what kind of a person he is. Politicians are at the very least expected to pretend to care about citizens' problems, Trump can't even fake that, so it's quite surprising that he has managed to fool that many people into voting for him. Even now and after multiple failures to handle multiple situations during his presidency, his polling numbers are not as low as they would be in other countries.

The reason for Trump being disliked overseas has to do with the fact that Trump is gradually withdrawing the USA from international affairs. Why should we continue to support other countries... or the idea of a one-world government? You jokers can take care of yourselves. Let America become strong to herself again.

So, it is easy to see why you jokers might be upset. Trump is taking your American gravy train away from you.

Cool
Hm, yes, you're right, the handling of the absolute worst health crisis in the absolutely worst manner by Trump proves exactly what you said. Let me rephrase, because you seem to have misunderstood: I've seen no one afraid that the US is trying (emphasis on trying) to distance themselves from international affairs. People are laughing at him and everything that comes out of his mouth .....
Euro-asshats had exactly the same attitude toward Bush Jr.

And toward Reagan.

Political conditions in various countries are not perfect..  I personally believe in the "Utopian Socialist" ideology.  I believe that we should live without worrying anymore about health and education costs, which are what the people most need..

we are here just discussing and getting to know each other better about each other's ideology (in your own opinion) -->

You do realize that we who have Social democracy party in power don't worry about health or education costs right now? It doesn't need to be utopian socialist.
Except of course for those countries where you have it, but do have to worry about health and education costs, because the money is spread too thin to have effective services.
444  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Trump has covid sooo: on: October 10, 2020, 10:50:51 PM
There are still people who take leadership of the Democratic party seriously.  No, honestly, it's true.  I swear to you.

If there were only Democratic leaders to match that by taking their people seriously...

I don't really understand why Pelosi is bringing up this 25th amendment thing now. It seems like it would be counterproductive, and just entrench Trump's supporters. Certainly there's no chance of him being removed for being unfit to serve - we all knew he was unfit prior to his election.

Because it's all about the coup they've been working for for the last four years.

After stealing the election with fake mail in ballots, she would have Biden sworn in as POTUS and then immediately depose him with the 25th.

By no means is it certain that Harris would be the one picked for POTUS.
446  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Trump has Coronavirus :( on: October 10, 2020, 01:42:25 AM
Trump is out and not in quarantine which is very dangerous that he is going to infect more people.
He released a video a couple of hours ago saying that he got a medicine which made him feel healthy and that the US has a ton of this medicine. This doesn't mean that his body is clear from the virus and he will not infect more people...
Well, from the news on the previous day Trump wasn't allowed to be discharged yet but still went back to the White House. I think he still has the virus even though he says he's doing just fine. I personally believe that he went back immediately to the White House because he wants to do some campaigning. But of course, with that, more people would be infected if not careful.
I've personally seen a number of times where one person in a household caught a bad flu, and others had a mild case.

So what? Why read too much into it? He had a mild case of it, enough said.

Now we don't need to worry about Trump catching the virus. He's already had it.
447  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Did Biden Son receive illegal cash from the Russian Lady - Let’s discuss. on: October 09, 2020, 02:46:29 PM
First of all I don’t think that there’s any topic created on this, hence I’m posting this here as it’s a sensitive topic and we will be hearing a lot about this in the run up to the elections.

1) Allegation (unproved): Joe Biden’s son Hunter Biden is accused of receiving 3.5 million ...

Unproven?

The US Senate disagrees with you.

https://www.hsgac.senate.gov/imo/media/doc/HSGAC_Finance_Report_FINAL.pdf

"Hunter Biden received a $3.5 million wire transfer from Elena Baturina, the wife of the former mayor of Moscow."

There is no such thing as "unproven." A wire transfer is totally traceable and identifiable. There. were other sums of money, also. All identified, all the way up and down the banking circuits.

Five ways Hunter Biden's business deals with China hurt the US:

448  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Presidential debates on: October 09, 2020, 02:57:03 AM
Yeah that's my mistake. I meant the world wide case count that's like 30M+, not just the U.S. case count.

Point being, there are a lot more cases than are confirmed so that drives the fatality rate down from the confirmed case fatality rate.

Ok, I'll play along, even though it's really getting off the topic. 10% of US population is 33 million. AFAIK there have been antibody tests in some locations showing rates up to 20% so let's make it 50 million total or ~15% of population.

50 million times 0.13% = 65 thousand deaths. We have 3+ times as many deaths or 0.4-0.5% fatality rate and that's based on a fairly optimistic assumption above.

Now can we accept that sacrificing people for a TV debate is just not right.

Be careful about the exact terms and their meaning...

449  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Trump THÀNH TỰU on: October 09, 2020, 01:40:19 AM
Donald Trump did a lot when he became president.
Fencing on the border with Mexico
Change the immigration law to the US
Reduce unemployment during his tenure
Did not start a war with other countries during his tenure. Help Afghanistan and Taliban reconcile to come to peace. Trump took action to call for North Korean nuclear disarmament but with no success.
At the end of Trump's tenure, he took measures to tax Chinese goods. This makes it difficult for American businesses that are manufacturing in this country.
He failed to avert the pandemic, causing it to spread across America.
Anyway, the epidemic was an unexpected factor in the term. We can hope he can do what he promises next term if he becomes president.

Not starting wars, while at the same time being very influential in foreign policy is quite remarkable. I think he will be successful with NK if re elected. Look how long it took either Russia or China to relax from strict communism. Perhaps 20 years. What's important is to get the process started.

As for "failing to avert the pandemic," it's likely a scientific impossibility to prevent a pandemic.

Remember that we're all armchair generals here, back forecasting to Jan/Feb/March but with a huge amount of data today that we didn't have then.
450  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Ivanka Trump Implicated in NY Times Published Tax Scandal on: October 09, 2020, 12:34:52 AM
If something like that were the case and it were proven in future, it would ensure that no other President would ever be allowed to take office until their financial history were properly looked in to (far more than before) and candidate should ever be considered by any party until every single aspect of their financial dealing are laid out for all to see in order to ensure no conflict of interest and no corruption.

Trump did not even publish his tax returns, he should never have been allowed to stand as a candidate for any party.
....

Here's the problem with your assertion. (one problem... there are others)

You've been non-stop slamming Trump's financial activities with zero proof, and very, very limited facts, because of your obvious political inclinations.

Your own actions are the proof that such data should not be made public.

452  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Presidential debates on: October 08, 2020, 11:55:29 PM
0.13% mortality

I don't even want to know what part of your anatomy you pulled that out of because it doesn't pass the smell test.

212000/0.0013 = half of the US population had COVID-19 and recovered?

deaths / population

212k / 336,000k does not yield .13 percent, but 0.06%.

I'll find the reference.
453  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Presidential debates on: October 08, 2020, 09:39:32 PM

I'm skeptical.
Makes sense considering you think global cooling is the greatest threat to the planet.

The planet doesn't care, but civilization does. Other major threats to civilization are solar flares, asteroid impacts, germ and virus, and others. But the historical cycles show ice ages to be incredibly long term and severely impact habitable areas.
454  Other / Politics & Society / Re: California to consider slavery reparations after landmark law passed on: October 08, 2020, 09:38:15 PM
No one said anything about sending people checks.  You guys are jumping to conclusions about the form the reparations will come in.  Also, many blacks immigrated from the South to Caliornia so its not particularly important that there were not as many slaves in California.  The issue is that financial harm was done and that harm has not yet been repaired.

and of course no one alive today was a slave but most wealth is inherited and you cannot inherit wealth if your ancestors were not compensated for their labor

So if my grand-grand-grand-grand-grandfather was a slave owner, and his sons lost all his ill gotten wealth, and my father worked his ass off to pass some decent coin to me, I have to share my wealth (through extra taxation) so that some lazy, poor, descendents of slaves my grand-grand-grand-grand-grandfather owned get free lunch?  How is it fair to me or to them?

What if my father was a descendant of slaves himself?  Would I be compensated as a descendant of slaves and slave owners?

This proposal is a legal pandora box.

It is revisionist, reverse racism that intends to strip mostly whites of their wealth.
What about Barack Obama?

Half white, half black, but identified as black.

We'll just all identify as black. Problem solved.
455  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Presidential debates on: October 08, 2020, 09:35:52 PM
I'll give you this, cause it is totally right.

I suppose everyone who is entering the debate facility could also submit to a test, but even doing that isn't going to rule out everything -- as people could be too early in the process to test positive for a test.

Another day in paradise, lol.

Part of the problem with the White House outbreak is that they put a lot of trust into notoriously unreliable rapid tests while ignoring most of the distancing and mask guidelines. Trump's team refused to wear masks in the first debate. Trump's now sick along with 30+ people linked to the White House. The administration has not been transparent in this whole fiasco. Given all that a virtual debate is absolutely the right decision. Not everyone has a chopper on stand by and a team of doctors with experimental drugs Smiley

Why?

Because they choose to only listen to advice from those most qualified when it's not too inconvenient.

The rapid testing wasn't too inconvenient.

The rest was.

I'm skeptical.

https://www.healthline.com/health/r-nought-reproduction-number

... in 1918 there was a worldwide outbreak of the swine flu that killed 50 million people. According to a review article published in BMC Medicine, the R0 value of the 1918 pandemic was estimated to be between 1.4 and 2.8.

But when the swine flu, or H1N1 virus, came back in 2009, its R0 value was between 1.4 and 1.6, report researchers in the journal Science. The existence of vaccines and antiviral drugs made the 2009 outbreak much less deadly.

COVID-19 R0
The R0 for COVID-19 is a median of 5.7, according to a study published online in Emerging Infectious Diseases.

5.7 simply put means extremely infections. You are going to get it. Period. Masks and distancing might put that off but won't stop it. But the earlier number I mentioned 0.13% mortality, means you won't have much of a higher chance of death than with the common cold.
456  Other / Politics & Society / Re: USA PRESIDENTIAL ELECTIONS 2020: Michael Moore says Trump on course to win ! on: October 08, 2020, 07:56:42 PM
I'm just going to throw these in for some wider perspective on how the election is viewed from outside the US....

Many of the problems the US has had in the past, and to some fair extent the current issues including the violence, are due to direct influences of your European Fabian-socialists or indirect influences of them.

If you'd get your international meddlers out of the US, and in particular out of the US Democratic party, you'd see much less crazy here.

As for Euro-opinions of Trump you know a choice place or two where those can go.

Why?

Six months ago everyone agreed to a lockdown because they'd "Flatten the curve." And now the goal is what? To avoid having members of the POTUS contenders get sick? To not get Covid until the vaccine is available, then take the vaccine, thus avoiding it entirely?

Plus as noted, the rapid response tests are skewed in favor of false positives, in order to get the number of false negatives as low as possible. There's a number of 1:5 I've seen as typical, one real covid infection for five positive test results.

And there's the recent CDC analysis of Covid mortality: 0.13%. So, who is articulating the end game for this Mask Theater, and what is it?

I get that argument though. As the founders WOULD'VE NEVER allowed for us to live in the current state that we live in. ICE operating near the borders pulling over private citizens everyday? ....

Sez who, the founders wouldn't have thought that was proper?

I mean yeah the founders are dead, but I think it's fair to say that they wouldn't like to hear stories about how the government is pretty much like a nanny state now.

There is no reason that we should be in a county where the government is involved in pretty much every facet of our lives. Like literally, why are people being killed financially from the regulatory state that continue. Why are there bureaucrats in Washington that know nothing about you, killing your business?

CBP controlling WITHIN OUR OWN BORDERS?

Militarized police.

Yeah none of these things are what the founders would have wanted.

Police as we know them really didn't exist in the late 1700s, so I'm a bit at a loss to know how to respond. "Soldier" was much more what existed, that did some things similar to "policing."

That is why I would disagree on that point.

Pretty much agree on this dimension.

Alright that's fair then.

I thought you were disagreeing with my whole thing, which didn't make any sense. Ya know, given the fact that like there'd be NO WAY the founders would support the bureaucratic nightmare that is today's government. Then again, their entire economy wasn't as complex as ours is now.

Hamiliton would've liked the massive expansion of executive power over the years, not all of them though. We've literally let Congress continue to cede power to the executive which is such a shitty way of doing things. Fuck government.

Reminds me of a fictional story, The Difference Engine, by Sterling/Gibson, in which a totalitarian regime uses punched card computers to micro manage all peoples' lives in 19th century Britain. But that's still a hundred years in the future from the timeframes of "the founders."

IIRC there was no such thing as "police" at the time of the founders. The Texas Rangers date from around 1840-1850, also.
459  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Presidential debates on: October 08, 2020, 05:27:53 PM
Short story: Do four or five studied face expressions make someone look presidential?

Harris has many flaws, but face... seriously? With the orange combover as the POTUS, that's your concern?

[/quote]

Run a part of the "debate" with the sound off and you'll see what I mean.

In a courtroom, when someone doesn't agree with what a person on the stand is saying, or perhaps what one attorney is saying, they will make these sorts of expressions. They do this because the court prevents them from vocalizing, that'll get them tossed out.

She goes way overboard with this tactic. In this debate, it's virtually a continuous show.
