as for saying that wearing facemasks cause injuries. well that just needs common sense to not wear a mask 24/7 and instead take it off. kinda the same advice needed for the idiots wearing the same underwear for weeks without changing can cause issues. im sure those idiots know what im talking about.
you know the type. they wear the same underwear for weeks. get chaffing in their sensative regions and decide from then on to walk around in public naked, saying clothing is a health risk.

No, I don't know the type. Never heard anything like that.

but.. my point was it doesnt matter if they were doing 50k tests a day or 200k tests a day, if there were only a few hundred people with it.. then there will still be only a few hundred people with it

which is the same common sense thing no matter the country/state

It does indeed matter, because it's very useful to know that only a few hundred catch it and test position, out of a hundred thousand in the same time period that do get tested.

As opposed to only getting the test if you show symptoms, which would create a far different perspective.

and world wide studies show that "prospective" but its funny how you try using a small situation of just a few days in orlando florida to try to pump your myth that the rest of the world must be lying. all because you didnt research the details of what actually happened in florida

remember your own words you thought that the positive cases would get altered due to the orlando situation. not realising it never affected the positive cases and wont cause a r0 to go under 1.0X like you thought it would

i used to enjoy sparring with you because you used to atleast put some effort into research. but lately you have been doing the same silly things badecker does.

at first i thought are you just being a temporary troll triggered because i called you out on your patriotic devotion to trump and not wanting him to be branded as the same social circle as epstein.. but it seemed you went to far into badecker style of trolling, that maybe its something deeper than the patriotic call out.

but in the end.
what matters in this whole topic is that the pandemic is not over. its still the calm before the storm and already some places are seeing new waves getting higher and higher again.
its not over, heck with not even 5-10% herd immunity thus far its not even midgame.

Yawn. I had to challenge you to actually produce the work and calculations that showed you to have any ability beyond your sixth grade babble with Badecker, which of course I had on Ignore because it does not pass a rudimentary Turing test.

Your problem, not mine. When you ducked and dodged, I brought the actual R models in. By the way, you are certainly still welcome to produce those which validate your various rants and ravings.

but.. my point was it doesnt matter if they were doing 50k tests a day or 200k tests a day, if there were only a few hundred people with it.. then there will still be only a few hundred people with it

A lot of people would look at what you just said, and see the good in it, not the FUD that is all that you are projecting. A few hundred out of 100k, and somehow you have that twisted around to be bad, not good.

Oh, and by the way, I have to laugh at you as well as some others, that try to weasel anti-Trump propaganda into what should be a scientific discussion. But then, you can't resist, right?

A test run of one of Donald Trump's most important voter-contact programs was abruptly shut down over the July 4 weekend, potentially costing the president millions of dollars in donations and raising alarms about whether the initiative will face roadblocks in the run-up to the election.

Trump’s campaign used the weekend to test-drive its text messaging program, a cornerstone of its small-donor outreach and its voter turnout plan. But after sending out over 1 million patriotic-themed messages, the enterprise was taken offline by anti-spam monitors employed by mobile phone giants.

and...

[...]Donald Trump Jr. has alleged that Gmail is sending reelection campaign emails to spam folders.

Yeah no shit. Must be a libtard conspiracy because there is no fucking way that people would be clicking the "Spam" button upon seeing that crap.

They sure didn't do that for the Beto O'Rourke senate / presidential runs. Nope. That spam sailed right through.

By the way, I'm not sure about email spam, but voice and robocalls by political groups are specifically designated as allowed. Likely email would be the same.

How do you know that the corona virus will not mutate? So far it's still not clear if corona will come back in the next years in a slighty different form. ...

Reword this to correct it.

Of course COVID-19 will mutate. It already has. Of course it will be around, basically forever.

Forever is so long. It will be around until the vaccine is going to be produced.
From that time and so on, it will not be here forever (not literally) as people will not be afraid of it and they will be cured when they will get sick. The point now is that people die if they get infected by the virus.
One more time, no, science will not find a magic cure, there will be no vaccine that causes you to never get the COVID-19. That's a false hope. There will come to be a "herd immunity".
906  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Lockdown easing - I'm back in the cafe on: July 20, 2020, 12:09:39 PM
There is more and most data being released about this so-called pandemic, and it is becoming apparent how badly we have been misled. Yes, it is highly infectious, but it doesn't seem to be very dangerous, except for the few who have flaky health due to lifestyle or as victims of the pharmaceutical industry. It seems to have been carefully orchestrated by the bankers and big pharma, and it will be interesting to see if increasing public awareness of the CV scam will turn people away from the pharmaceutical and vaccination frauds. Lets hope it does.

Will they try to impose another lockdown when the second wave hits those who were unwise enough to avoid gaining immunity during the healthy summer months. I certainly hope that public opinion prevents this.....

This is an important subject and is worthy of discussion.

In the cafe.

According to this article, corona virus is mutating, https://www.healthline.com/health-news/what-to-know-about-mutation-and-covid-19#The-new-coronavirus-is-mutating,-but-very-slowly

you are right, it will last forever but hopefully our scientist will find all the vaccine necessary to continue for us to live a normal life.

That magic ain't gonna happen. What will happen is the flu shots will get some covid-19 antigens, making it a somewhat better flu shot. That will help a little bit.
909  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Lockdown easing - I'm back in the cafe on: July 20, 2020, 01:43:12 AM
doctors wear masks. they work with masks. yes they should get regular breaks. but thats a case for standard work practice of not making people work 12 hours without a break

if you think your suppose to wear the same mask all day for weeks. then you need to take a step back from the sites badecker has been linking you

your suppose to only use masks in places where social distancing is not available
buses/taxis/trains/shops

once you are out of the shop you can loosen the mask
you should regularly replace the mask too.
but whats most important is distance
respect peoples personal space. its not that hard

I wrote something sarcastic in response to this, and have deleted it. This post makes a lot of practical sense.

But I am afraid you won't get far talking like that, because the Cult of the Mask has arisen. The Mask will save us, is what they have been told to believe.
910  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Natural corona virus immunity sky rockets. on: July 20, 2020, 12:21:28 AM
Pretty sure herd immunity requires around 80% of the population to actually have gotten it. The state in the US that had the most amount of people get it was NY, and even the state of NY only has 20% of the population get it. This is while 26k (or more now) residents of NY died b/c of Corona.

While yes, we'll get closer and closer to herd immunity as things go on. We're going to have a lot of people dead if we continue to go on the path of herd immunity. The best case is a vaccine soon, but that's also pretty far out at this point.

Rolling lockdowns and social distancing while we wait for a vaccine is really all we can do. Honestly.

I think you are going to have to take the "wait for a vaccine" part out of that equation. And where does that leave us?
911  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Covid Theater: on: July 20, 2020, 12:18:40 AM
Many of us have known for a long time that the numbers have been skewed... and lied about by the media.

CDC #'s Show NO Statistically Significant Increase in Overall U.S. Death #'s

After all, we shut down our entire economy, destroyed many businesses (blaming them for not managing well only to increase their stress and depression), and we increased anxiety and fear enormously. So why don't the numbers show an increase of overall deaths in the United States? In fact, considering population growth and significantly increasing aging population (see chart), we should see a rising death number. Let's take a look at the numbers:

According to the CDC, the United States has seen a slight increase in overall deaths so far in 2020 compared to the same period over the last four years. Note: the last number in the chart below is the population growth from the year before. Also, the chart is from January 1 thru the 2nd week of May.

Cool

Next you'll be claiming the US didn't actually send men to the Moon in the Apollo program.

Oh, wait, you did used to claim that...

there is already too many people just asking for a test even without having symptoms. so the negative test numbers become a meaningless statistic that explains nothing.....

Says who? You?

The goal of the test is to provide information to the one taking the test. The goal of the test is not to structure data sets to your liking.

now lets work out if you are one of them idiots or if you do atleast act smart off the forum
will you respect peoples personal space? or will you want to get lots of people to gather under the false pretense of 'herd immunity quickly' to force governments hand

The false pretenses are exactly this.

It's dangerous so wear a mask. But don't worry, we'll have a vaccine pretty soon and then you'll be safe.

Totally, 100% false.
916  Other / Politics & Society / Re: The Face Mask Placebo on: July 19, 2020, 02:17:18 PM
I don't see anything wrong with a person wearing a mask in a store that he will take off when he comes out of it, but some people wear masks even when walking in the fresh air or playing sports, which is irreparable harm to their health.
Why wearing a mask in the fresh air hurt people ? It can be useless, but I can't how it can hurt them. Our body is adapted to function in various atmospheric situations (high altitude, low oxygen, high effort, etc) so how could a slightly lower air flow irreparably hurt people?

It's like wearing a bulletproof vest all the time because you might get shot one day.

.....We even had the police chase people around for not wearing masks, trying to fine them.

This worried me for a while, but I got over it.

We need is bulletproof-vest-and-mask-combos. This would protect against the tiny disease bullets and the big hot lead bullets. Other options could be available.

BVMC-LJ, Life Jacket option, protection against sudden torrential floods.
BVMC-AB Airbag option, protect against vehicular crashes
BVMC-P, Parachute Option. Just in case of airplane problems.
BVMC-DC, Dual Cowboy Six Gun option to protect against violent rioters.
917  Other / Politics & Society / Re: The Face Mask Placebo on: July 19, 2020, 12:37:27 PM
Masks don't necessarily help you prevent the disease, but they certainly do help you prevent others from catching your disease.

Did you think that the whole point was to save yourself, rather than to prevent the spread of disease? Well, now you know.

Also there is a phycological factor involved in it. When you wear a mask and the other person wear a mask, both of the person believe and thinks that virus cannot harm them as there is no way for a virus to transmit trough nose and mouth. The person who is suffering from covid 19 MUST wear the mask so that others are not effected by the disease.

I've got a dingy old N95 mask that's been used a hundred times in abut six Montths. It's got a rich harvest on it from everywhere it's been. Of course, it's never been cleaned or touched. Touch it? Who knows what nasties are there. This mask, I would feel guilty wearing it around my worst enemies.

Your old N95 mask can harm you more than not wearing a mask. I think you should read the Recommended Guidance for Extended Use and Limited Reuse of N95 Filtering Facepiece Respirators in Healthcare Settings
Most of these masks are made for limited use only and should be dispose off after the use.

This old mask is a proven workhorse. It has a layer built up of bad stuff so thick, nothing else can get in. I recall back when it was white. That was before the green and brown spots started growing. Are they supposed to do that?

Also whatever microbes were in the spots disintegrated parts of the mask, so there are big holes in it now. But most of it's okay. It's got a lot of life left in it.

Smiley

BTW, looking at FL Rt=1.06 from rt.live I am officially scared for the rest of the country.  Not sure if Rt from rt.live is helpful, NY Rt=1.07

numbers in FL.. you said its 1.06.. but reality is 1.3 average
it managed a 1.07 for the last half of May but by june 3rd numbers were above 1.1

heck even just looking at a graph you can see that the upward angle is not a low 1.0X amount
....

FL is at 1.03

https://rt.live/us/FL

...But I suggest waiting a week or two on FL, there have been massive errors reported from there, over reporting covid and deaths.

It may actually be <1.0

It's causing a lot of stress when I get back home. Wondering if I somehow inhaled it from someone, only feeling relief many days later when no symptoms developed.

It is really very uncomfortable and safe whenever I leave home even for several minutes, ofcourse, there is a virus, we can't see it, that is why we need to compromise and we need to sanitize ourselves before re-entering our houses. We should follow the guidelines of health experts for us to be safe.
Do social distancing and avoid touching mouth, nose, and eyes. Wear mask all the times because lately, health experts announced that covid-19 is airborne.

Scared to go outside? That's silly. Airborne counts of something like a virus will be nominal, unless where you live outside = crowded places with people.
