Hey there, I need some help with RX 570 Sapphire Nitro
I'm trying to flash it's BIOS. I'm changing the values of VRAM to increase hashrate by copying and pasting 1:1750MHz values over 1:2000MHz and 2:1750MHz over 2:1875 and 2:2000MHz.
After a system restart, RX 570 driver crashes and MSI Afterburner doesn't recognize the driver...
Anyone knows a solution to this issue and first of all, am I doing it right by changing those values?
what memory? only swap the settings for 2:1750 not 1:1750,1:1875 etc... only do the 2: memory timing. you only use 1: memory timing for certain memory maker I am not sure but i would double check by googling it. I think its Samsung only. Elpidia and Hynix is 2: timings |

On the overclocking screen the text says: "core - you can set value in MHz for example 1100 or for each gpu 1000,1100,1050" and "memory - value in MHz. example 1850 or for each gpu 1850,1800,1790"
When I do that I get an error on initializing the OC settings: integer expression expected.
So... it is not true or I'm doing something wrong. What is it?
Question #1 how many cards in your rig? Question # 2 what cards are they? [brand 4gb vs 8gb, did you bios mod?] etc? Only input numbers nothing else. For Example: I have 6 cards in my Rig first 4 are RX 570 and last 2 are RX 580 so I set the core speed at 1150 for all 6 & 1950 memory speed for firs 4 and #6 but 1750mhz for #5 [as it gives me error when i push it higher than that] Hope that helps. why do i get this message? DevFee: stop mining and disconnect
you are paying a fee to the mining software developer. my guess is claymore miner is the mining software. Yes I know I pay a 1% fee for claymore but why does it say "stop mining and disconnect"? for single mining every hour it connects and mines on behalf of the claymore author for 36 seconds. the message you see is for "Start mining and disconnect mining" is because it is mining under claymores wallet for 36seconds. |

Hi there, i have a rig with 5 rx 470 4gb and 6 rx 480 with 8gb (gigabyte g1). I have a problem every 1 hour running the rx 470 4GB rig or sometimes even less. in the first run it shows at generating DAG file that have 4096 MB of memory in GPU for write and use. after 2 hours of running, for some reason claymore reboots this is normal that random crashes, but when it try to mine again shows only 1920 or less MB of memory available for DAG, and because that the common cannot write DAG file problem. there is a way or a command or something that is missing to free those 4GB of ram available for dag file between every reboot? i saw that some people add virtual memory, i added 8GB of physical memory to the rig, also created a swap partition, and nothing... also i am using the z270 chipset i tried the simplemining 8gb and 16gb version and same... tried with 6 gpus, 5 gpus, undervolts, but at some point when it restart at some time it looks like it were eating gpu available memory and not releasing them.... i tried to search about this stuff on internet but dag errors are only on 2gb ram or less vga's issue not rx 470 issue... the rx 480 nitro+ 8gb had no issues... because this i am thinking to switch to windows, and see if this fixes or at least i know that can be fixed with virtual memory..  #1 the reason for restarts is you are pushing your GPUs too far. I have 1 RX 580 that when OC it to 1950/1150 mem clock/core clock it would crash after 25 min restarting the rig. I am glad to hear you are liking your Gigabyte products in my personal experience i have sent back 3 Gigabyte RX 570 and thinking of sending another 1 back they are just bad card or just my luck. last rig i built i used 4 different motherboards 10 different riser/cable combos couldn't figure out to save my life what was wrong with it. I kept updating bios doing changes swapping card modding them and unmodding them to factory stock bios. Eventually after a lot of elimination it was 1 Gigabyte RX 580 card that was funky as soon as i eliminated that one Rig is stable. In all honesty i spent over $500 worth of part swapping out and 30+ hours and in the end it was that 1 Gigabyte RX 580. |

The (US) national electric code says the maximum CONTINUOUS current draw is 80% of the breaker rating. In this case, the highest continuous current for a 15 amp breaker is 12 amps total. Don't forget to include anything thing else on the breaker like lights or electronics.
If you are going into full power extraction mode, you might want to check that the labeling on your junction box is correct. If a particular breaker has scattered outlets, you may want to also map them out.
One last thing, I would talk to an electrician if you house has 14 gauge aluminum wiring. This is a problem.
Thank you for all the wonderful Info. My house was just built in dec 2016, hopefully its uptodate to code standard. I think the only stuff built to withstand miner requirements are dryer & electric oven power lines. 220v lines. They have thicker gauge wires and more amps on circuit breaker. using 110v power supply at high wattage at constant peak usage over long distance (from circuit breaker) is bad. Not a electrician, but I believe new wiring won't forgive mining requirements and laws of physics. Stick with the dryer power lines or pull new 220v lines. great tip. I will tell my wife no more cooking [oven] or drying clothes [dryer] as i am gonna hijack those power outlets pappa needs to Mine!!! |

I know its expensive but i tried gigabyte 990fx, z170a from msi etc but had a lot of issues. Hope that helps. Asus Prime Z270-ar it has 7 pcie slots but i am only running 6.

Yeah I split them up with in two different rooms [specifically 2 different circuit breakers just to be on the safe side] 1 room got 900 watt 6 GPU rig and other one got 4 GPU rig pulling 600watts.

Is it possible to run 4 x L3+ in the same room using 4 "different" outlets? Or should I run a maximum 2 L3+ units per room? I'm not sure how to handle ~3520 watts (4 x L3+)...  How do you guys deal with so much power in your home in a 100% safe way? It's not by outlets, it comes down to which one goes to which circuit breaker. For example, most common residential homes comes with 15a breakers for a room. So if you have 2 outlets in that room that are on different 15a breaker, then you can safely run 2 x L3+ each on those outlet, because at 120v and 15a breaker = 1800watt total 2x L3+ = about 1600watts each. EDIT: But if that whole room are all connected to the same 15amp breaker, then that room can run the most 2x L3+. Thanks for explaining it yesterday i just had the circuit trip in my house. I had 2 Ethereum Rig drawing close to 1500 watts total and another GPU close to 200 Watts + monitors etc. Now i Know what was the culprit. |

When i make the bootable usb drive and the program completes the burn, it shows up as 2 drives on my main pc. One with the config file and another one I can't acess, just says I need to format that drive.
Are you using HDD RAw copy ? |

tytanick thank you for uploading the files so quickly however they might be corrupted i tried 3 different pc and 3 different USB drives I get error "Operation Terminated at offset " on HDD RAW copy around 49% or so.
