Don't be fooled by drop in difficulty level.. .its bitmain playing games.. the units on Hashnest weren't selling at $3600 a piece when they launched it they only sold like 10 units 1 day.

I think so they panicked and took some inhouse machine offline so people would see better ROI temporarily and once all the Hashnest units will be sold out watch how the Network Rate spikes to 9TH/s.

Very clever games Bitmain!!! Touche...

Yeah...I'm already preparing at BEST for the mental anguish of 1/2 of my mining profits going almost poof immediately in July. Smiley

This is how home mining died for bitcoin in summer of 2014....blamo.....too much equip .....bitmain will own pow scrypt hostage too it seems soon

I suppose the next step is to play the same game with x11 miners in the future. (ducks.....hey...it is not like they have not thought of this too ..don't ya know) Smiley

It is kinda interesting to see what I thought april 1st at 6 buck ltc .would take 10-11 months .probably be all wrapped up in bitmain's favor in like 4-5 months

they are so gonna own pow scrypt and lock out anyone even thinking about making a machine....by Dec getting a Bitmain L3+ will make about as much

sense as getting a T9 Bitcoin miner now.....its bitmain its what they do.....toasters...kicking them out like toasters Sad

SEaring can you recommend some one who can host 1 L3+ for me?

the guy at http://www.btcmeqc.com/ are not responding

Can you minenx11 etc with asic ? Or is it just gpu farms ?

x11 like dash coin is asics only gpu farms are unprofitable for x11

x11,x13,x15,quark etc are all asics now, very rare to be gpu profitable in those coins.

Thank you for your help and informative answer. This helps me so much. What coins besides cryptonote see none asic ?
Obviously excluding eth.

There are alot of small or Altcoins they are good for GPU mining AMD gpus rock for ethereum and Nvidia GPU are good for Equihash based coins such as Zcash, Zclassic, zen cash etc.

rig mixed amd & nvidia. working in win 7 but in win 10 the nvidia not works

its weird that you are able to have mixed rig work I am not sure what the issue is. Might be something to do with mixed rig.

One other thing i would try is disable Nvidia cards on your miner and start a separate miner for it. so disable GPU # 4 or #3 (whichever is nvidia) and start a separate Ethereum claymore miner for nvidia and see if that solves your issue.

i have a problem abou the GTX 1060 3G eth mining hashrate. in win 7 it's working about 20 Mh/s but when i try to mining with win 10. this hashrate is droped only get 2.5 Mh/s. anyone get this problem ? btw My rx580 working

stupid question do you have your RX580 and GTX 1060 on same motherboard?
626  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: I want to set-up a rig for mining ethereum? on: June 01, 2017, 12:31:33 AM
I don't think you are ready to build a mining rig.

You need to be proficient at trouble shooting computers, you WILL run into issues at some point.

It also sounds like you have never used crypto before, only want to get into it because you heard of free money.

You need to do your share of research to understand all aspects before trying to dive in.

Cheers.

I agree 100% do your research yourself it boils my blood to seem noobs coming in forums everyday and just asking an easy blue print to make money and mine.

Its not easy.

The only thing that calms me down is I was one of the noobs years years ago... possibly 2012-13 and we all had to start somewhere... so welcome. Read a lot don't expect to get easy answers... trial and error. do a lot of research yourself. It will help you in long run.
627  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: What will kill GPU mining profitability in 2017? on: June 01, 2017, 12:27:59 AM
Not in the market for a prebuilt  but I have a best buy elite status.  So I get 6.25% off that pc.  It would earn 7 or 8 dollars a day.

Which means under 200 days for it to roi.

I wonder if it fits a second card.

Thats hoping the ROI stays same or flat, but with difficulty rising and if prices dont you will not get the same 200 days ROI FYI

I can also confirm sent payment didn't go thru went thru my account just fine.
Than the payment system timed out and 3 hours later it said you will get refund claim your refund and charged me funds back for refunding.

I will wait till tomorrow to deposit in my account again.

Tytanick before  you take down simplemining for maintenance can you please give us headsup Post something like it would be coming down for maintenance etc in 60-90min i was restarting rig etc for different settings and now I am stuck and can't use it until servers come back online.

I had incorrect settings and all my rigs were rebooting and they rebooted with wrong settings.

Would there be any point for a newbie to start mining today?

Its a personal question... no one knows if its the beginning or the end its a gamble/risk if you are willing to take one go ahead and start mining.
632  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: What will kill GPU mining profitability in 2017? on: May 30, 2017, 07:32:45 AM
Not sure but i am scared from all the mining capacity that is coming online.

In last week Ethereum Network Rate went from 28.5 TH/s to 32.5Th/s thats almost 200k RX 570-580 equivalent.

No wonder they are all sold out and we can't seem to find any.
633  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Cards available! Weeeeeeeeeee! on: May 30, 2017, 05:55:45 AM
Congrats on the score, some used ones are going for $50-100$+ markup on ebay lately. From what i have read vega is going to be hard to get too so better have your trigger finger ready when those come out.

Vega for Retail is not coming out till 2018
634  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Cards available! Weeeeeeeeeee! on: May 30, 2017, 04:31:15 AM
Nope sold out... can you share 1?

I would have, but I needed 12.   have 2 idle MB's sitting here.

I tried to order 6 more and they were gone.

Fuk they go so fast.

Set autonotify and make sure you have an email setting that updates frequently so you can go right away.

I try to give warnings on here and they are gone in 5min every time.

funny thing is I do have Auto-Notify...lmao!!! but they go so fast... I should have picked up more when I had the chance. I was at local Frys and they had them for $189.99 + tax and I only bought 1 didn't realize like an idiot that they might run out.
635  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Low Hashrate Mining Ethereum with GeForce GTX 1070 on MinerGate on: May 30, 2017, 04:29:51 AM
I am not sure if anyone else mines on MinerGate for Ethereum (or other altcoins as they support a lot of them!), but I have been beating my head against the wall all weekend trying to figure out why my hashrate is so low mining with a GeForce GTX 1070 Video Card.  I just started getting into trying to mine Ethereum with my new gaming rig.  I did a bunch of research on how to start mining Ethereum and I came across MinerGate as pool that I could mine ETH on.  I thought that it was pretty cool that they had their own mining software as well to handle mining to my account for me.  So I downloaded and installed their MinerGate v.6.6 software as well as NVidia CUDA v.8.0.61 SDK (although it says that I cannot install Nsight because I do not have any compatible versions of Microsoft VisualStudio installed, which I am not sure if I need or not?).  I also installed GETH v.1.6.1 and Mist 0.8.10, although now I am not sure as if I even needed to install them unless I was planning to solo mine directly on the Ethereum blockchain instead of mining on a pool?

For reference, my gaming rig is running Windows 10 Pro, Version 1703, OS Build 15063.296 on an Intel Core i7-6700K 4.00GHz SkyLake CPU with 32GB Crucial Ballistix RAM and an ASUS STRIX ROG GeForce GTX 1070 8GB GDDR5 Video Card.

In any event, once I got everything installed and setup on my computer, I ran MinerGate to see how well my setup would mine.  After disabling "Smart Mining" (which automatically starts mining whatever altcoin it feels you will have the best results with, which is annoying that it starts that by default...), I manually started mining Ethereum.  I figured it couldn't hurt to try to CPU mine at the same time that I GPU mine, so I enabled both to see what I could get out of my rig.  However, all I am able to get out of MinerGate is about 420-440kH/s from my CPU (running on all 8 threads - as it is a 4 core, 8 threaded processor) and 8.75-9.25MH/s from my GPU (running on Intensity 4)!  When I Googled what the estimated hashrate that my Video Card should be capable of mining Ethereum, it says that I should be averaging 25MH/s!!!  I also tried disabling CPU mining just in case that was bottlenecking my system, but at best I only got about a 0.25-0.50MH/s boost from GPU mining only with my computer.  So, why am I not able to mine on MinerGate at even 10MH/s when it says that my Video Card should be capable of mining at a much higher hashrate than that?  At this point it seems like I'd be better off trying to solo mine if GETH can give me double the hashrate that MinerGate can...

Any help in getting this figured out would be greatly appreciated.  I am very frustrated that I cannot figure out why I cannot get a decent hashrate out of this Video Card!

Dont' go thru minergate download claymore 9.4 read the instruction and mine directly on dwarpool.

Make sure to have your own ethereum wallet address where you can get payouts.

I like using these: http://www.homedepot.com/p/3-Shelf-30-in-H-x-24-in-W-x-14-in-D-Wire-Unit-in-Chrome-EH-WSTHDUS-005/204466879

This is the final product (after a bunch of zip ties / fan and components): https://imgur.com/gallery/OUyaa

That looks nice and clean.

I used to use a milk crate mining rack. Was always antsy about that shit melting and burning down the house....

My next mining Rig i am using that shelf to built it.

I been building wooden rigs so far now it would be interesting to try that rig shelf etc.

639  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [Mining OS] SimpleMining.net - Easy to use GPU MINING Operating System on: May 27, 2017, 03:32:57 PM
Hey everyone,

New to the mining game here and having an issue I'm hoping the community can help me with.  I've searched the web and the forums to see if I can find a solution but no luck so far.

So here is my current situation

I have 3 rigs running SimpleMiningOS - RX Series to single mine ETH.  1 rig has 2 RX570s and 2 rigs each have 4 RX570s.
Everything is running great until I try to put a 5th RX570 in either of the rigs already running 4.
Once I put the 5th card in the OS takes MUCH longer to load and when the miner finally loads it fails to mine and I get the following message "No AMD OPENCL or NVIDA CUDA GPUs found, exit."

The main rig I would like to add the 5th card to is an ASUS motherboard, z170 chipset i7 CPU, 8GB of RAM, and a 1000W PSU.  I have tried the RX series version of the SimpleMining OS and the z170 version with identical results.

Below is a list of solutions I have tried from reading other posts and just general guessing on possible solutions.

1. Swapping video cards.  From the 11 cards I have, I have tried MANY different combinations of cards and got the same result; it works fine with 4 GPUs and fails with 5.
2. Putting each riser on it's own line from the PSU.
3. Switching between SimpleMining RX OS and SimpleMining RX z170 series OS
4. The board has 6 PCIe slots and I've tried every combination of using 5 of the 6 slots.
5. Increased the RAM to 32GB, just because I had the RAM already.
6. Putting all cards on risers and only 1 card directly on the motherboard.

Because the issue seems to surface while the OS is attempting to load I'm guessing the issue might be the motherboard or software but because the issue is happening with my other rig as well, an AMD CPU setup, I'm hesitant to believe both motherboards have the same issue.  Has anyone else seen this issue, and hopefully a fix?

Thanks in advance for any help or information I can get.

EDIT - Also, I've tried going back to the original bios just to see if I could get the system to boot normally and get into the miner with 5 GPUS, it didn't work.

I had a similar issue with z170 there is a differrent version specifically made for it.

I think the second one worked for me, but you should try them both. They are specifically design for z170. good luck.

Edit: I am assuming you have already updated bios for z170a and also enabled 4g decoding?

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you a million times!

I am very new to this and had no idea what 4g decoding was or that I needed to enable it, I've seen it mentioned here and there but never knew what it was.  After your suggestion I looked it up and sure enough that fixed my issue!  I probably spent 10 hours working on this issue today before posting here.  Now I wish I would have asked sooner.  Thank you so very much crypticj!!!!

You want to hear a funny story? I spent over 20+ hours dealing with the same issue, but not only i had 4G decoding not done correctly I had a bad GPU that would lock up "mutex lock" and crash the rig couldn't figure out it was that bad gpu and finally i got everything working and the Onboard LAN gave out so i had to RMA the motherboard. I am glad i was able to help, i got a lot of help from a lot of members and tytanick welcome to the bitcointalk. I am glad your issue was resolved.
