But if you have no trouble making ends meet and even got some spare money at the end of the day, you would most certainly want to preserve its purchasing power. Putting the money in the bank is essentially equal to admitting that you have no other idea where to put it. On the other hand, the very definition of spare cash means that you can, in a sense, afford to lose it (at least, some part thereof), right?

I say do both as well, save some of your money in the bank or some safe at home. Then invest the rest that you are wiling to risk or lose in the long run. Investing always entails risk while saving is not.

That is the wrong thing to suggest bro, saving money in banks while it actually saves the number value of your money it actually decrease its buying power due to inflation which in my country is 8%  which is higher than any regular saving banks. I would suggest saving your money in bonds which is 5% closer to 8% of the inflation rate. Or if you want higher you can invest in stocks.

I'd say is it a lot better to invest money than to just save it and do nothing with it. I say this because there are save investments with a low return (Yet higher than any bank).
So putting your money into one of those investment instead of a saving account can make you a nice profit over time.

You invest only a portion of your savings and that is the standard practice, even in business. Investment is an act of a person that he wants to grow his money fast because savings alone would not do that for us, as long as we know what investment that fits us and that we can see we have a great advantage to succeed.
