You will float because of buoyancy which is due to gravity.  The pressure difference between the bottom of the object and the top of the object creates the upward force.  The pressure at the bottom of the object is higher because the pressure at the bottom of the column of water at depth is proportional to the weight of that water which is the result of gravity.  The deeper you are in the water the more pressure is exerted, all because of gravity.

If you jump into the water and feel that you weigh less or you float, you just proved gravity.

"Gravity" is just a word. The thing it describes is used daily, by people all over the world. If you want to call it something else, go ahead. After all, other languages have different words for the same thing that gravity describes.

If the 10 million tons of water had wings of the right size, it could fly away against gravity, just like a mosquito. Take the wings off a mosquito, and gravity drags it to the ground, just like the 10 million tons of water.

1. Every electrical engineer understands how the electric universe matches electricity in such a way that it is viable. And every nuclear engineer who has a strong minor in electricity understands how the electric universe fits the facts better than a nuclear universe.
