Thank you all for the feedback, and a few of you for trying the faucet out!
Please keep it coming, both the traffic, AND the feedback... How can this be better?  Economic model? Suggestions?

And a special thanks to the few of you who donated, and tipped!

Question:
So I don't have the wallet behind the faucet doing anything special.  I'm assuming it won't work as a masternode, as there are transactions coming and going.  But, what about enabling staking? (With a reserve amount set in the config, easy enough to script up with the existing software I've written, so payouts aren't EVER effected.) Unless there's a good reason not to, it would seem a waste not to have the faucet minting some 8bit on it's own, right?

Since staking protects our network, yes - enable reservebalance (to don't let faucet go dry too fast) and enable staking.

I'm just a bit busy last days so unfortunately I will have to publish beta-test on github only... I mean still no windows binary yet. I had some random issues with qt5, already fixed them but no time to start gitian process again (there are no working gitian specs for 8bit, all I did was custom stuff). Anyway this week new source will be published.

Well I am bit frustrated with no new release yet so will do my best to publish it as soon as possible. It's like fresh air we all need.

Cool, thanks! I've enabled staking, and in the continued interest of transparency (at least as far as the faucet goes), I've updated my monitoring to track this in detail. http://xymon.netspecto.com/xymon-cgi/svcstatus.sh?HOST=8bit.netspecto.com&SERVICE=balance

The staking reserve will check itself, and adjust if needed, every hour, and will set itself to 50 8BIT, or three times the pending cashout, whichever is higher.
At this point the only currently pending actual cashout is going to be 0.26 8bit (which is me testing things, so it's going to get donated back).

I keep asking about the economy, because I'm thinking if I up the reward we might get more folks downloading wallets, getting involved, etc. etc.  Our goal really needs to be to get some 8bit into the hands of as many folks as possible, right?

Maybe change the payout to .03 or .04? That way a person can earn more than a stake in a day? I imagine 200 8bit stakes maybe 4 times a day, so it could possibly replenish itself.
Maybe we can get a faucet drive going?

I'm still working on most of the "update" bringing the faucet near the state I'd like it to be in.  BUT, that said, I've upped the reward per click to .03, and left the cashout limit at .08.  So simply put, it's three clicks to get paid now instead of eight.
