Guys, I have just set up a poll which could help to determine how much funds will be raised if mastertrader777 sets up a donation address. I have just a few 8BIT, so my own donation will be small. I suppose there are many people with few coins, which could want to donate too, so I added both big and small donation amounts to the poll. I am just trying to help, as I see the community is ready to do something, but lacks the actions. Disclaimer: I have absolutely no relation to mastertrader777. I am not even sure he is doing right thing by asking some amount for takeover. I prefer a Dev who works for an incentive in form of 8BIT coins. But the fact is - we don't have such Dev. masterdrader777 is a person from trader/business world, where working for free is not common (they do not do that at all as far as I understand, unlike people from programming or science world, where I belong to). But he is a guy of high quality standards, and I can completely understand him wanting to take money for the work. So lets vote and see what community would tell. The poll is here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1083720I voted ....

There is already 3.71 BTC voted. 74.2% of the needed amount! Not bad for just about 10 hours of "crowdfunding" . The community of this coin is indeed great. I think some people are missing now, will join and vote after the weekend.

That is strange... I would guess this has to do with your forum membership status. I am not sure, just a guess - maybe forum allows voting only for members starting from Jr. Member..? Post few things here, I suppose your status will increase after couple of posts, so you can vote

Ok post 10 lets see if I can vote now!
It still shows "Newbie" under your account. I checked this - according to forum rules you have to have activity 30 to become Jr.Member. So most probably you cannot vote yet. But its no problem, just cast a vote here in the thread - post the amount, so it could be added to voted ones

Actually according to poll we have now 4.15 BTC. If we add there donations from newbie accounts (hope they are serious - bstone2 and blooding_sorrow), then we have 5.15 BTC + possible donation from soco (I guess he was not able to vote this time too, so his donation amount is unknown). I'm just doing arithmetics... Leaving conclusions to whoever wants to do them

Well, so that means that together with soco's donation, the amount now is more than 5 BTC. It is 5.65 BTC, to be exact. So the poll can be considered to be successfully completed. The result is - there is a very big chance that if mastertrader777 proceeds with setting up the donation address, he will get at least 5 BTC he was asking for. My mission (doing calculations and estimations) ends here . Would be nice to see a logical continuation of this process. It is obvious that community (at least its active part) is ready and wants this takeover. One important note thought: if mastretrader777 takeovers the coin, it would really be great to have crypto_graphics back on board, working together with new Dev - he seemed to be really creative and enthusiastic person. In general - the best path for this coin is to be a coin developed by Dev & community together, as I see big interest from community in this specific coin, and a creative potential in this specific community. 8bit-game nostalgia huh

Hello 8Bit Community, I have been following the donation vote thread, along with this one. I have also been messaged by skidog, letting me know that the community has interest in having 8Bit taken over by my team and I. I will set up the donation address, but I want to communicate with you guys on your main wants and needs in regards to this takeover. What are peoples thoughts and concerns about the 8bit MasterNode Count being so low? My thoughts were to change the 8bit Masternode Requirement to 1024 8BIT per Masternode raising the demand immediately...With doing this I can change the Masternode reward if we want to. This is why I am asking, and would like your input. What else would you guys like to see, I want everyone content with the roadmap...so the best way to do this, is if we all collaborate and come up with a plan of action everyone is happy with. I want this to be a community takeover...you guys are in charge, tell me what you want and need...I have already brainstormed a bunch of ideas to revamp this coin and community, but like I said - Lets hear what YOU ALL have to say. When we get a solid gameplan down with what we want and need with this community takeover, I will post the donation address. I'm thinking about having to make another thread too, and will revamp the graphics and logos right away day 1. Look forward to the community feedback, MasterTrader777 www.ToshiDesk.com/beta

Look forward to the community feedback, MasterTrader777 www.ToshiDesk.com/betaMy voice has been against MasterTrader777 but i must concede with the communities decision, maybe you are the man for this stage of 8Bits development. I will not stand in your way, but i do have some concerns. Raising the Maternode Requirement is a good idea, but to remain appealing to a large audience it might be better to consider 256 or 512 8Bit. This wil still raise demand and with it the price which is good. But because of the amount of coins in existence low MR keeps it affordable to a larger public. With 1024 the benefit would be very much in favor of the early invester, new inverstors might be wary of this and show caution. Imagine getting this to an 8Bit/ComicCon-like community, how much would they be willing to pay? My advice: Keep it as low as possible, but increase it enough to gain traction. Seeing people running 30+ nodes to me kind of defeats the purpose, but hacking it away to a mere 3 is just draconic. This raises the question: Qui Bono? Go for middle ground, you come off better!
