Nothing to Admire in Bush's Attack on Trump

Quote
Sending a coded message: Bush 43 skewers Trump without saying a word … George W. Bush just pulled off something rather remarkable.  He got himself on the front page of the New York Times as helping to save the Republican Party from Donald Trump without uttering a word.  Nice work if you can get it. – Howard Kurtz/Fox

So George Bush is "saving" the GOP from Donald Trump.

Too bad someone couldn't save the GOP and America from George Bush.

For some reason, Howard Kurtz seems to believe that Bush did something clever in positioning himself to attack Trump.

Kurtz is a liberal journalist. He finds Bush's approach to Trump "remarkable."

That's probably because he doesn't like Trump very much.

Here's a bit of Kurtz's bio:

Howard Kurtz currently serves as host of Fox News Channel's (FNC) "MediaBuzz." … Kurtz, a veteran journalist and renowned media reporter, had been the host of CNN's weekly media criticism program, "Reliable Sources," since 1998.

He had also served as the Washington, D.C. bureau chief for The Daily Beast and Newsweek writing on the intersection of politics and media. Prior to that role, Kurtz spent 29 years at The Washington Post in various capacities.

Kurtz quotes from the New York Times article to explain some of the disagreements that Bush has with Trump.

The former president is "deeply bothered" by Trump's "derogatory remarks about Muslims and immigrants."

Also, Bush is concerned about holding on to Congressional power in order to provide a "check and balance" on the White House,

(It's fairly obvious whom Bush wishes to "check.")

Anyway, why is Bush bothered about Trump's anti-Islamic messages? Bush spent much of both terms killing and wounding millions of Muslims in the Middle East.

US depleted uranium weapons irradiated Iraq so terribly that women in various regions were told by doctors not to bear children.

As for immigrants, it's true that Bush tried to turn tens of millions of Mexican illegals into Americans with the stroke of a pen.

But the plan backfired amidst resentment and resistance.

In fact, it was a globalist trick. It had nothing to do with "caring" about immigrants and everything to do with destroying the remnants of "these united States" put in place by the Founding Fathers.

Bush is concerned about "checks and balances." But when Bush was in power and commanded the House and Senate, he started vicious wars, debauched the dollar and created new federal programs that were as vast as they were ruinous.

Bush's compassionate conservatism was a ruse. He was neither.

He further expanded fedgov's embrace of authoritarianism.

His social spending helped bankrupt the country.

None of this is in the least admirable. Good for Trump for providing an alternative.

Here's Kurt's conclusion:

You have to admire the way Bush has resisted the temptation to criticize his successor for almost eight years, sticking to his vow to retreat from public life. Now the only way for this tough-talking Texan to skewer his potential successor is through coded messages.

Again, we depart from Kurtz's view.

Bush retreated from public life because by the end of his regime, he had seriously angered tens of millions of Americans.

Many white folks rightfully criticized the Main Street African American for supporting Obama because he was black... Please don't be fooled... Both candidates are fiends with Epstein... This is sickening.

Ahh whoopie is an idiot because the nra isn't an ufo in the sky it's an association made of PEOPLE... Pathetic.

Do you realize the time, money and energy you spend at trying to elect him?
Yeah sure supporting a candidate is good, I've got nothing against that. But isn't it HIS work to convince you? Here it's more like a disease spreading...

Better hope Trump wins because if he doesn't he might go take over France.

Hmm... How to say that... like no?

I mean I know that Trump is taken seriously in America but here in France it's more like a bad running gag...  Grin

Poll Finds Majority Of Americans Now Favor Trump’s Muslim Immigration Ban…

When Donald Trump originally proposed a temporary ban on Muslims entering the country, polling showed that nearly six-in-ten Americans were opposed to the idea. Since that time, public opinion has gradually shifted to the extent that the number of Americans in favor of the proposition now consistently exceeds the number of those opposed to it.

“Donald J. Trump is calling for a total and complete shutdown of Muslims entering the United States until our country’s representatives can figure out what is going on,” said a statement from the Trump campaign on December 7, 2015.

Three days later, the Wall Street Journal released a poll that found 57 percent of Americans objected to the proposed Muslim ban. Just 25 percent of those polled supported Trump’s plan at the time. CBS released similar polling results the next day. In the CBS poll, 58 percent of Americans opposed a temporary ban on Muslim immigration and 36 percent supported it. […]

Reuters has kept a rolling poll on the subject since May. On May 31, Reuters found that 54.5 percent of Americans disagreed with the Muslim ban and 40.7 percent supported it.

By June 6, the same poll found that 52 percent of Americans supported the ban, while 44 percent opposed it.

The Reuters poll has remained steady after the Orlando terror attack. On June 14, fifty percent of likely voters supported a temporary ban on Muslims entering the United States, while 42 percent opposed it.

Neither of the presidential candidates can afford to speak against Epstein. The Jewish lobby is quite powerful in the United States, especially in battleground states such as Florida and Pennsylvania. Opinion polls indicate that Hitlery is currently enjoying support from some 80% to 90% of the Jewish voters. Why would Trump further antagonize the Jews?

Gary Johnson is just a puppet created by Hitlery, to steal votes from Trump supporters. He is closely linked to the establishment wing of the GOP. If you remember, he was the governor of New Mexico from 1995 to 2003, and at that point of time, he was solidly affiliated with the GOP. He was expelled from the GOP for his dubious political deals with the Democrats.

Johnson is pulling votes as much from Hillary as from Trump.

He left the GOP because they treated him like Ron Paul because he is pro-marijuana and against wars/crony capitalism.

The Peasants Are Revolting – Disconnected Political Institutions Meet Their Monster Voters…

To say the last 24 hours have been historic could most certainly be an understatement.  However, we can be certain a wounded global media will put every possible liberal, progressive, multicultural and socialist voice onto television and into print to push back against the visible rise of a growing nationalist sentiment.

What has happened with the U.K. referendum is going to send reverberations around the globe; but this outcome should not come as a complete surprise to most CTH readers. What happened in Great Britain is the visible rise of their national Monster Vote.

People from across political parties, conservative (Tory) and democrat (Labour), joined together to unite against the institutional political systems (EU) who construct the rules of their lives without the consent of the governed.

When you recognize the bipartisan nature of the Brexit coalition, you remove the political shroud and begin to get down to brass tacks.

This same structural defect, born of self-centered political Oligarchs, exists in the U.S. political system and we call it the UniParty.

Progressive leaders from both Democrat and Republican parties working in concert to deliver the legislative priorities of the group who funds them, Wall Street.

The representative image of the sentiment behind the U.K. LEAVE campaign exists in the United States in the presidential candidate Donald Trump.  Trump supporters are essentially anti-globalists, much like the U.K. nationalists were/are anti-European Union.

Almost identical issues confront both electorates: Trade, Immigration, and the demand for a representative political voice that looks out for their best interest.  The EU is essentially a bureaucratic open-border political system, where they consider themselves the enlightened ones – and the citizenry of the various EU nations represent pawns to be governed by the elitists’ magnanimity.

You can just as easily transpose the mind-set within Brussels as an overlay of the same disconnected political outlook seen in Washington DC.  Two bureaucracies governing despite the will of the electorate, not on their behalf.

And make no mistake in the analogy, the overarching globalist views of the political elites within the EU and within Washington DC are essentially the same.

The uprising against this political outlook cuts across both parties in the U.S. just like it did within the U.K.

Bernie Sanders and Donald Trump supporters have a commonality in the identification of the problem, the divergence is within the solution. When this aspect is understood, we begin to see the possibility of, and attraction to, cross-party voters who support Donald Trump.

It’s the system, the institutional political system, that is fundamentally flawed.

Almost no-one within the system has the capability to deconstruct the problems because they are systemic and structural.   This structural issue is easily represented by the opposition to Donald Trump found within both the Democrat and Republican parties.  This structural issue is what also binds the largest potential voting block, the Monster Vote.

Against the overwhelming scope of the unified affiliation, the progressive media are forced to work overtime in their attempts to prop-up the corporate interests attached to the political body.  This is why the media predictions are also disconnected from the outcomes.

In an effort to retain relevance, the mainstream corporate media is forced to “gaslight” their audience with increasingly transparent falsehoods, manipulation, willful blindness and intentional deception.  However, there are ongoing signs surfacing which show the scope of the American common sense electorate.

There simply are more of us than them and there’s only so much the media can continue to do to try and hide that reality.  In addition we are tuned in to the schemes and techniques used to manufacture the Potemkin village they seek to build around us.

Often people ask what they can do to help further the awakening electorate.  One of the most important activities is to learn to spot the gaslighting efforts, spot the deception, and then teach your friends and family if they fall victim.

If we are going to defeat the Globalists we must give our team the tools to see through media propaganda. Simultaneously, we must make a conscious effort to keep a positive outlook and boost the morale of those around us.
….In short, we must train minds and support hearts.

Seems like USA won this one. UK had the choice between becoming USA good little dog and staying in EU, they chose!
It doesn't change a lot of things in the end but that's a sad day to see a strong independant country completely accepting its slavery towards USA :/

No - thats not quite true. Is the UK the US's lapdog ? Yes. Has been for a long time - in or out of the EU. But have you ever considered that the EU itself might be the lapdog of the US ?

Reason I visited this thread (and I try not to visit Wilikons threads if I can help it) is to pass comment on Trumps comments today on the Brexit.
I personally voted Leave. And so it was with some surprise that when the journalists today tried to coax out of Trump a controversial remark about the referendum/Cameron/the leave vote, he merely chose to comment that the result was a good thing because it meant that the UK had taken back control of its own country - and that it would in no way alter the good relationship between the US and the UK.

I don't think he was bullshitting or riding the wave neither, I think he meant it. This is to his credit.

Seems like he would like the citizens of the US to take this kind of initiative also - but who are they going to leave ?

We all know that Hillary lies. We know it from her lying to Congress about the emails.

We know that Trump lies. Just look at all the BS he talks about all the time.

Get it through your heads. Government leaders are a bunch of lying, scheming bastards. Look what Hillary did in Benghazi.

The point is, if you are honest, you will wash your hands of everything pertaining to government. But if you want the best peace, you will vote for Hillary. Why? Trump is making waves with all kinds of things that have not been attempted yet. Hillary is attempting to carry on with what has been working - barely.

If you want a big fat mess, vote Trump.

If you want the status quo to continue for awhile longer, vote Hillary.

Both are doomed. Vote Trump for the mess not to be as bad, but to come quickly.

Vote Hillary for the mess to take longer to get here, but for it to be worse when it does get here.

Be an honest person and don't vote at all. Rather, move to Belize.
