Anything is possible especially bitcoin has very big future. I can see bitcoin in the future being widely used just like a fiat and eventually replace dollars. I'll keep my faith on bitcoin  Bitcoin had a great future. But replacing the dollar would be huge, too huge. As others said the governments want to control anything so they wouldn't replace their own controlled currency. |

it sounds incredible, but it is not as easy as it sounds especially in the time period is too short in my opinion, but no one could guess the future, maybe just happened disaster that resulted it becomes a reality  |

If the world reserve currency which is the dollar dies, another fiat form would take its place.
Meaning another country took the initiative which all points to china. Thats if we really did see the dollar collapse, but when we do see this it`ll be in stages im sure.

it wont happen regardless the way I see it. I feel like the banks will keep doing what they do, and the time I see it replace it to the dollar I`d be long gone. |

Bitcoin cannot replace the Dollar anymore than the Dollar can replace the Peso.
And who would really want that?
It's best for decentralized currency to stay decentralized.
Now, that's not to say that we won't have fiat blockchains, and I expect that in much less than 15 years.

you do realise that most of our bills are paid with fiat money right lol. so even if it does become the currency lets just say, what will most of us do with $10,000 in our bank account etc. People would riot so hard.. even bigger then the 99% vs the 1% riots. |

Replacing Bitcoin in Dollar is like asking a question that who came first Hen or a Egg, The main strategy to make Virtual Currency like Bitcoins is not replacing any other currency but to adapt online transactions and Illegal transaction what all tells about SILK ROUTE, that was the main reson to create Bitcoins, but now Silk Route is closed and bitcoin is becoming real currency, but without other original Currency Bitcoin is nothing, their is no fundamental and theoratically about bitcoins.
First Bitcoin have to be mainted correctly in Blocks , that is the major issues is facing . if bitcoins have to replace any other currency then it have to accept some strategy.

I think dollar will replace and are replacing to many other currencies in to many part of world. people prefer to use dollar because of its credibility and accepting everywhere without hesitation. As for bitcoin there is a great coin but have lacks compared to dollar.

BTC is way too small for developed countries to make BTC its currency. Either way its not a consideration at the moment. BTC will be the mainstream way to send money, replacing Paypal and Mastercard long before it get taken as a global currency. |

Why will it not? If in the future bitcoin keeps going up and fiat keeps going down which is what happens when they print more of it on a whim people might wise up. Money should grow over time not devalue and bitcoin could solve this and that's what's great about a deflationary currency.
I can see that you've got high hopes about bitcoin but dollar has been there long before bitcoin has been established but I don't think that it would replace USD anytime soon. We're a small community compared to the fiat and I'm pretty sure you know where I'm going with this. |
