Mainz are on their lucky week.    Because despite losing the Dortmund game, they are still 2 points away from their nearest follower in the standings. It is thanks to Gladbach beating Leipzig. And Freiburg also got an unexpected home loss against Union Berlin.

But still Mainz are under the danger of losing the 4th position... If Germany doesn't get an extra spot for the Champions League again then Mainz will have no other choice. There are still German teams in the Champions League and Europa League though so let's see.

Mainz 05 has always shown quite impressive performance in the last few weeks, so when they were only able to get a draw against Freiburg, I thought Mainz 05 would be able to return to winning ways by beating Borussia Dormund in week 27. However, it turned out that my prediction was wrong, facing Borussia Dormund who appeared as the host, the 05 players were unable to do much more, which even though they were quite dominant in terms of ball possession, in terms of attack in the match Mainz 05 looked quite weak.

Failing to get points in the match, in the end Mainz 05's position in 3rd place in the standings had to be shifted again by Eintracht Frankfurt. and it seems that Frankfurt is starting to try to restore its consistency in achieving victory in order to get better results in the remaining matches in order to ensure that at the end of the season they will finish in 3rd place and will compete in the Champions League next season.

Borussia Dortmund is playing one of the worst seasons in a very long time. I think the last time they played like that was the last season they had with Klopp. This will lead to some severe changes within the team if they don't have the money from the Champions League next season. There will be more sales and that usually broke their neck. This time I guess Adeyemi will be a transfer target for other clubs and they could need him so much, but I doubt he will stay if they fail to qualify for the Champions League.

On the other hand, Leverkusen is in second position with 56 points, there is a gap of some points between the two teams at the moment, and both teams are preparing to face each other. I see that if Leverkusen wins today's match against Boshum, they can collect three points and get very close to Bayern Munich and they can compete in the future. Since Bayern Munich is currently 6 points ahead, and if Leverkusen can collect three points by winning their next match, the gap will be reduced. And whenever the gap between the two teams can return to power, there will be more excitement in that Bundesliga.

That means Dortmund will lose the chance to play in the Champions League next season and that is quite painful because previously Dortmund were one of the Bundesliga teams who always qualified for the Champions League. That assumption could also be achieved when Mainz lost concentration in several games which ended in defeat but depending on the conditions it is not in Dortmund's favor.

They are also quite busy facing Barcelona in the Champions League so that will affect the conditions when playing in the Bundesliga, the chances are quite small and if they succeed it might be quite lucky for Dortmund this season.

I will say in that game Bayern Munich were lucky to go with the three points because what if St Pauli had equalized because they had a handful of chances to make things go bad for their hosts. I still believe that anything can happen and with Leverkusen being their closest competition, if they( Bayern Munich) misbehave, there will be no trophy for Vincent Kompany and Harry Kane to carry and all his goals and record will just be for nothing. Its safe to say the two teams are threading carefully, not wanting to make any mistake that can cost them because as it is, if any of them lose a game now it will affect.

I placed my bet on Dortmund for getting a win today against Mainz as i was sure that will be making at home.
Even i dont have seen the game for now it looks like with 3 scored goals they must got more chances to score one more.

Dortmund finally managed to beat Mainz with a score of 3-1. Although Mainz performed better this season, they were unable to provide significant resistance at Signal Iduna Park. The additional 3 points brought Dortmund to 10th place in the standings, and I think Dortmund still has hope to finish in the Champions League zone, they are currently 7 points behind. Monchengladbach and Leipzig will be the biggest threats to Mainz in the remaining 7 matches. Dortmund certainly hopes that they will regain momentum to be able to continue to improve their position towards the end of the season.

It feels good to see Borussia Dortmund beat a good team the way they did to Mainz. This winning now confuses me as to why Dortmund have been flopping if they are this good. Not only did they win Mainz, they played exceptionally great and converted a good number of their chances to goal. Mainz is at the fourth position in the league table and were hoping to qualify for champions league next season but the decline they are facing now does not give much hope about that. The drew their match before losing to Dortmund today thereby losing five points in both matches. This is a major setback for the team.

Are you really sure you know the difference between getting 8 points and winning 5 games? Lemme bring you back to reality of football, do you realise that if you win 7 games that a whopping 21 points and 5 games win gives you 15 points? Do you know that? So how's 8 points better than 21 points or 15 points?? Do you also realise that the more you lose the more your goal difference depreciates and the more the win the more your goal difference appreciates?

This is mind-blowing for Mainz, this is an incredible performance from this team, last season they ended in 13th place with a total of 35 points, 7 wins, 14 draws and 13 lost, for a team to end a season with this record that means we will not expect anything big from them but Mainz change the narration to a surprise one. This season Mainz's aim is to win the title but unfortunately they can't make because they can't stand the pressure since both top teams are at move (Bayern Munich and Leverkusen). I'm confident that Mainz to smell the next season's Champions League if they can continue or rather improve on this performance.

In yesterday's match we saw that Borussia Dortmund managed to break out of their circle of defeat but even then, it can create an extremely confusing situation for us as to why Dortmund are not able to move forward at the right pace. The result of that match for Borussia Dortmund was positive for them because every opportunity they had was used properly. In the match I mentioned, Borussia Dortmund were able to convert the chances they had into goals and the body language of their team players was perfect for that match. SC Freiburg can certainly put up  prevention for B. Dortmund at any point in the match.

Where Borussia Dortmund are supposed to be at the top of the points table and competing with the big teams including Bayern Munich, they are in a much worse position in the points table and now look like they might be beaten when they take to the field. The problem with this team is that they can produce good quality players but they don't keep those players instead they sell those players to big clubs in Europe to make money. Every club wants to make money but in the rush to make money other clubs don't sell all their players. Borussia Dortmund should buy good players and change their performance. If they are not able to change their performance then they will be more criticized and people will stop watching them play.

Bayern Munich full strength football team is giving good effort in Bundesliga . Sané was the match winner because he did 2 goals in last match and that was big achievement by that player because match could be draw but he saved his team and defenders of that team also played well in last match. We appreciate to all team because team always win match and no man could win any match alone and every player of that team played crutial role for the team . Leverkusen team performance is also excellent in this tournament because they won last match one handed and did 3 goals in last match against VfL Bochum football team .Every player of that team played for the team and not for himself and that is the reason they are strongest team of this tournament.

I agree with you mate, Kane has nothing to lose because he will win the golden boot as the highest goal scorer. I don't believe that it will be possible for Bayern to lose their long leading position to Leverkusen at this time when the season is almost wrapping up. It will be very painful to the team and fans at large. They might have declined in form but not to the point of losing the league.

The won the league last season and have been a very good team recently but Bayern isn’t going to allow them do the double on them. After winning the league there was no much investment into the team, so at this point they’ve done there best, Alonso is doing a good work, I was surprised when he announced that he was going to be staying for one more season, I just feel Bayern Munich will be running away with the tittle.

Mainz is quite different this season as it is undeniable that they are a stumbling block but in the match against Dortmund they tried too much in balancing and dominating which Dortmund maximized well.

Mainz's first half also did not go as expected which made Dortmund of course benefit with 2 goals at the end of the first half which made them more confident in the second half.
With this result Dortmund stopped their 2 bad weeks because they got points again this week.

For a long time we only  saw Bayern Mmunich's dominance in the Bundesliga. No  other team in the Bundesliga competed with Munich for the title. I was tired of seeing  Munich's dominance every season. But in the last season, Xabi alonso changed the  scenario. With the help of Alonso , Leverkusen played great . The team was undefeated for the entire season and won the title.

Munich's performance was weak in the last season. I will not say that Munich is very strong this season. If Leverkusen had been in a great rhythm like the previous  season, then the top spot of the table would have been occupied by  leverkuseen this season as well. But Lleverkusen is not in good form. Even then , Leverkusen is only 6 points behind. If Munich does not play well in the upcoming matches, they have a chance of losing the title.

I will say in that game Bayern Munich were lucky to go with the three points because what if St Pauli had equalized because they had a handful of chances to make things go bad for their hosts. Last season when they lost the title for the first time in 10 year, coincidentally that was also the season Harry Kane joined Bayern Munich from Tottenham Hotspur and many called it the Kane course. So, if same is to happen again this season despite Bayern Munich being in the summit for this long and eventually losses it, then I believe most people will definitely blame Kane for it.

No surprises in Munich. St Pauli caused them some trouble but eventually Bayern collected another 3 points and defended their 6 points advantage over Leverkusen.

Borussia Dortmund is finally showing some improvement, after two embarrassing losses to Leipzig and Augsburg, they finally put themselves together and noted a comfy win over a tough rival, Mainz (currently 4th). Hope to see them play at their 100% in the UCL quarter-final against Barcelona next week.
