Wasted 2 titles in the competition and currently Leverkusen only hope in the bundesliga. 6 point gap from Munich, looks very close and seems to be able to be caught up. But the problem is, Alonso able to finish this season with a full victory until the end of the season?

Even if they win every match, they have to wait for them to lose important points. That's why their job is harder than ever. Bayern Munich doesn't seem to be losing points easily. They had an incredible winning streak in the German league last year and became champions without losing a single season, but that was a one-season dream. Things are back to normal now and they are in second place. I think being in second place is also an achievement.

Bayer Leverkusen was unable to match their opposing strength with Bayern Munich this season. We know alot have happen in the system and probably, Leverkusen striving harder to ensure they secure a path for themselves this season. Yesterday was probably one of the worst days for the club, they've been absolutely miscalculative when it comes to matches, we've watch them losing confidence on the pitch and also handling away there points so easily.

Bayer Leverkusen was competitive but couldn't hide the fact that they're not at their peak. It was eliminated yesterday from the DFB Pokal by Arminia Bielefeld at the Scücho-Arena. It was huge surprise for anyone that was targeting a win if you must know, everything didn't just fall in place.

It is 99% likely that the first two places in the UEFA ranking will be England and Spain, which means that these countries will get the 5th ticket to the Champions League. On the one hand, Mainz's position seems shaky, since 2 points of advantage with 7 rounds left is not so much at this level of competition, but on the other hand, their competitors are Leipzig in crisis, Mönchengladbach, which suddenly rose (outperform) and Freiburg, which gave up by the end of the season. I think Mainz's chances are at least 30-33%.

Can German teams still manage to bring that 5th spot to their league in theory? I mean if Bayern Munich win the Champions League and Frankfurt do the same in the Europa League?  

I assume it would be possible in that case. But if you ask me, I would expect only Frankfurt to win a trophy here. Not Bayern Munich.    While there are teams like Real Madrid, Barcelona and PSG playing much better, it wouldn't be very possible to see.

But to be realistic, I agree with you. England and Spain seem the most likely ones...

Expecting Bayer Leverkusen to win the champions league this season would be an honest unrealistic expectation especially not in their current form. Their result last season got them earning so many higher expectations this season but what many failed to understand is that it's easier to win a trophy for the first time than maintaining it as a defending champion.  The Bundesliga even looks like so much of a challenge for them now, basically it's just the whole attention they got from last season that turned out a major contribution to their flopping this season,  although they tried earlier to maintain their image but it turned out that they weren't able to maintain it for the longest and Bayern Munich has got a new coach who wants to prove a point so it was a competition already much more than they had last season.

It will be very difficult for them, yes, very difficult seems to be impossible. Moreover, Leverkusen's performance lately has been very bad. They also lost the FB Pokal, their only chance to lift the trophy this season, even from a small club, which is very different from Leverkusen's strength. Since Arminia could beat Leverkusen, they probably have a chance to beat Stuttgart as well. However, I'm sure the favorite team to win the trophy is Stuttgart. Arminia is strong, but it is always a different match when it is in the final round.

Well, it is actually quite surprising to see the results of semi-final DFB Pokal. I assume most people predicted Leverkusen vs Leipzig in the final. Unfortunately, both of them were defeated by Arminia and Stuttgart. Let's see if the final round result may be unpredictable again. In theory, Stuttgart has a better squad, but Arminia has a solid squad. We must always remember that a stronger team doesn't always win the match.

That is good point if Arminia Bielefeld can beat strong team like Leverkusen they can definitely give Stuttgart hard time. As underdog team Arminia Bielefeld has a lot to prove and will probably be very motivated to pull off surprise win. Cup matches mostly have unexpected results and Stuttgart position as top team in Bundesliga might actually make things harder for them. Pressure to do well can be too much and Arminia Bielefeld might be able to take advantage of that. Luck can also play big role in these kinds of matches and either team could get lucky. Next match on 25th should be exciting and betting on both teams to score might be smart idea. Since both teams will likely play aggressively we will probably see many goals.

6 points does seem close, because it's only equivalent to 2 matches. But their opponent in chasing points is Bayern Munich, they're not a team whose good form is easily lost. There are only 7 games left in the Bundesliga, and you know, there are 3 tough games for Leverkusen to play (IMO).

- Freiburg - Leverkusen
- Leverkusen - Borussia Dortmund
- Mainz - Leverkusen

Believe me, I don't believe that Leverkusen can unseat Bayern Munich. That's why I asked the question.

Of the 3 games you mentioned, I only see 1 as a difficult game for Leverkusen. Mainz vs Leverkusen, Mainz are one of those teams that we rarely discuss here without realising that Mainz can always beat the top teams when Mainz are at home.

As for the games against Freiburg and Dortmund, I'm sure they won't cause Leverkusen any problems. In terms of performance, Leverkusen are much better than Freiburg and Dortmund.

This is football, and anything is possible, but don't say Arminia Bielefeld will beat Stuttgart in the DFB Pokal cup just because they knocked out Bayer Leverkusen from the DFB Pokal cup. That isn't enough reason to say that Arminia Bielefeld will beat Stuttgart, and you should know that the club that Bayer Leverkusen might struggle to beat or lose to might not be tough for Stuttgart to beat. I know cup matches come with surprises, but you should analyze this match very well to have a clue about the club that can possibly win this match.

They have only six points difference away from Leverkusen who's at the second position on the table,  this for me means Bayern Munich has still got some work to do, it's not a perfect gap for them to relax we'll enough,  they have less than 20 games to the end of the season,  this is supposed to be an indication to putting Bayern Munich at even more advantage to the he fact that they can win the league title but if Leverkusen consistently win the rest of their fixtures in the Bundesliga,  it's very likely Bayern Munich will be vulnerable to loosiout especially if they lookout in any of the game sand draw another while Leverkusen maintains a winning streak, that will cancel out the six points difference and keep Leverkusen at advantage,  bit I doubt of Leverkusen has got that form to pull this off which is currently putting Bayern Munich at an even more advantage to winning  the league title.
