Dortmund and Bayern Munich are neck and neck. Both have 49 points and neither wants to drop points. This week bayern Munich will host augsburg at home. Dortmund will travel to schalke 04 away. Both of them don't have very difficult matches when we look at them. I don't think there will be any surprises this week. I see wolfsburg- union berlin as the important match of the week. It is difficult to predict because it is possible for both sides to win the match.

Dortmund and Bayern are in a heavy competition for the Bundesliga title and for advancing to the final stage of Champions League. Unfortunately Dortmund didn't make it since they lost vs Chelsea although the advantage they had in the first leg.

Match between Dortmund and schalke, Dortmund performance has been rated very excellent, the host team has been up in their games lately, with this performance their game with schalke will be in their favour consider their recent form and the good record they possess over the visiting team, schalke on the other hand seem not to be doing well this season so Dortmund might utilize this lapses to get the 3points of the match.

Dortmund will play vs Schalke just after its Champions League game vs Chelsea. Since Dortmund doesn't have a clear advantage in the first leg, then it will take that game seriously.
In Schalke game, Dortmund is playing away vs a team that is trying at every cost to get out of the relegation zone. So far Schalke shrank the gap and might escape once it secure 3 points against Dortmund, even though the odds are in favour of Dortmund obviously.

In that match it is quite obvious that Dortmund can have an advantage and it is to win those precious 3 points,those 3 points will be able to keep Dortmund there fighting for first place against Bayern because Bayern are playing very well, the players know very well well what they want, and they are willing to win the Bundesliga like the UCL, this week is very exciting, the truth is that they are not underestimating Schalke,but I think that against Dortmund it will be very difficult for them to beat them, now if they do a draw would be great.

Speaking of performance, I'm quite impressed with union Berlin.  Not even Dortmund, cuz Dortmund have earned a name in Germany football big enough to win the German Bundesliga without much deliberation or surprises at their performances. But for union Berlin,  they have not been this good in the past years when Bayern used to go away with this title effortlessly. As the season began, Union Berlin impressed many people by their performance during this season. However, in reality, they did not have the same amount of potential as the teams such as Dortmund and Bayern Munich, and they did not have to invest as much in their team as these two teams did. Leipzig finally has a new sports director. It is Rouven Schröder. He worked actively at Schalke until October 2022, but then his contract was on hold. Leipzig had been without a sports director since May 2021. At that time Markus Krösche was the sports director in Leipzig and left to Eintracht Frankfurt in June. Schröder had his contract on hold in October for personal reasons.

But after Leipzig did not have a sporting director, the fact is that Leipzig's performance is still in good results. So, maybe having a sporting director or not might not be a big deal but yes, of course if Schalke has a sporting director then that would be expected to improve team fitness and performance.

Since May 2021 the activities of the sports director have been distributed on different shoulders. That seems to have worked quite well. But everyone wants to do the job they were hired for. Now everyone else can concentrate 100% on their job again. So I think it was the right decision to hire a sports director again.

I am very happy to see their performance in the Bundesliga this season, but they are not enough to be able to compete with the 2 clubs that are indeed on the path of competition to become champions. Now Union Berlin is 5 points away from Bayern Munich and also Borussia Dortmund. Their last 3 matches have failed to win a game which means they have to go back to chasing the 2 clubs that are above them now. But apart from all that, this season they are performing well.

If that is an option, then it is right if Dortmund chooses to focus more on the Bundesliga. If Dortmund won their two matches over Schalke and Koln. In the next match, Dortmund will have an away match against Bayern Munich. meanwhile, vice versa. if Bayern wins its two matches over Augsburg and Leverkusen, then the decisive match will be determined when Bayern host Dortmund at the Allianz Arena. one of the teams that won the match, automatically widens the difference in points distance from these two teams.
