It was quite a surprise for me to see Dortmund losing points against Schalke. This can be a derby game but we just can't overlook the huge difference between these teams on paper. Dortmund just needed to show this by their performance as well. They were actually impressive in the game but the defensive issues finished them. This was a game that they could have won and maintained their winning streak.

This was a big hit to Dortmund as Bayern Munich won on the same week. But the gap is still not big of course. Dortmund just need to go on focusedly.

The 2-2 draw between Dortmund and Schalke was indeed very surprising and moreover Dortmund was in his best condition, most fans hoped that Dortmund could lead the standings, but if you look at the match statistics Dortmund controlled the match and carried the flow of the match with dominance.
It really made me also surprised by this result, it seems that Dortmund's defense at that time had a gap that Schalke took advantage of.
Schalke also played quite well here, and made a strategy that was difficult for Dortmund to penetrate so that they could defend and attack even though the opportunity to do so was with a small ratio.

Playing as host Schalke seemed to know how to face Dortmund, I had doubts about this match so I didn't bet and in the end the result was a draw, Dortmund on paper should have won against Schalke but unfortunately was not lucky to get 3 full points, a draw adds one point, Dortmund are stuck in second place in the Bundesliga standings with 50 points from 24 matches, two points behind Bayern Munich at the top. Schalke is still in 17th position with 20 points.

I lost my bet in this match, because I believed in Borussia Dortmund and bet on them, I was happy when they took the lead and in the 60th minute they took the lead for the second time. However, Schalke destroyed hopes after they scored a goal in the 79th minute. Once again, Borussia Dortmund had to fall behind Bayern Munich by 2 points, even though, in a match that ended in a draw, they had a great chance of winning.

Dortmund couldn't do much in this match because Schalke played quite defensively, even though in the first half Dortmund took the lead through Nico Schlotterbeck's goal, while in the second half Schalke managed to equalize and in the end managed to score 2 goals each. Dortmund still have a chance to challenge Bayern Munich in the title race, but will need to play more consistently in their next matches.

Facing FC Koln at home in the next game, Dortmund must get full points, because if you draw or lose again, it will open up opportunities for Bayern Munich to widen their points, so there is no other choice but to get a win.

The draw was shocking as much as it wasn't shocking in the end as well. We are talking about a team that has been doing so well lately.

After all they weren't poor in their performance, just that they were only unlucky. To be honest, I wouldn't be surprised if in the end Dortmund only got one point in this match. very reasonable, in football anything can happen. Dortmund actually controlled the game with 66% ball possession, Dortmund also had many opportunities. recorded, they had 20 total shots, 8 on target, 4 shots off the mark and 8 shots blocked. it's a shame, only two opportunities that they can maximize to be converted into goals. with this result, adding to the record of unsatisfactory results after Dortmund slipped in the Champions League. also, providing an opportunity for Bayern to widen the gap between them.

The most unfortunate thing for Borussia Dortmund this year was the lack of a player in the forward line after Haaland.  They took Haller, but because Haller had a health problem, they could not get any efficiency from them.  Had he been a better striker from the start, he could have been in the league today ahead of Bayern Munich.

What was surprising was that Schalke was in such a bad state that Borussia Dortmund should have been able to finish this game well. However, sometimes derby matches like this will be very emotionally draining where each club wants to get the best result at the end of the match. And Schalke did well by being able to draw with Borussia Dortmund in this match. This is detrimental to Borussia Dortmund on the other hand because they have to be left behind by Bayern Munich by 2 points. That way now Bayern Munich can breathe a little more than before when they are on the same points as Borussia Dortmund.
