I just bought some BTC very recently at my city's only (AFAIK) BTM. This time there were two others waiting to buy as well (all three other times I was the only one). But the machine was partly on the fritz, only two (of us three) could get our trx through.
The glitches need to get worked out as just ONE of many improvements that they/we need to do and see before BTC takes off. But, with the nice move to approx. $443, maybe 2015 will lead us into a NICE 2016.

We're at $450 USD from what I can see on preev.com, and in my opinion that's huge. We're seeing a steady increase in value as the halving closes in, and it is showing no signs of slowing down at all. I do want to believe this is going to be an amazing year for bitcoin, but there are currently no guarantees that it will. Personally, I don't think many people care all that much about block sizes as it is, but the market movement is showing that the investors are confident that we'll find a workaround for it. 2016 is already shaping up to be an amazing year for Bitcoin, now all we have to do is see if we can break $500 and keep it steady before January.

we are far above $400 now. currently $450 to be more precise. sub $300 isn't something that makes people worry right now. in 2016 sub $300 won't even come into people's minds. we can even see a new ath in 2016. don't think it will be the year of bitcoin, but it will definitely be an important year.

Well, the price already "broke through" in 2013, but I'd like to see a nice, slow, steady rise in 2016. Not parabolic bubble type stuff that's unsustainable. Bitcoin's market cap is going to have to expand significantly in order to be adopted by the great unwashed masses. Got my fingers crossed.

Probably have to wait a while longer, we are still incredibly early.

It already becomes a tradition but every year at the end of the year price increases to fall in the beginning of next year. Especially now painted a strange situation in the financial sector.

Damn right it is. There are a lot of exciting things going on this upcoming year and there are going to be a lot of surprises. Think of how many new people have been introduced to Bitcoin and what they bring to the business development of it all.

I think it will be a lot better than the recent previous ones we had. The price kept going up, but dropping, I still hope it will be. 2016 is the right time.

I think youre right. Next year, I'm forseeing that we'll be closer to our even higher than the previous $1200. Long live bitcoin.
Recently I've seen shops accepting bitcoin more and more often. I'm guessing adoption is driving the price up. If we crash the $1200 barrier, bitcoin will be all over the news. Then, bitcoin will really take off.

The bear market has lasted long enough. I predict 2016 is the year where bitcoin finally breaks through, both in price and in mainstream adoption.
The fork issue is a distraction. It won't kill bitcoin. The majority will eventually choose what fork they want to use, whether it is the original, or XT, or some third option.
I see the fork issue as silly infighting which only hurts bitcoin. I want bitcoin to succeed, that's what I care about, not what version of BTC I use. I will go with the majority, whichever fork is chosen.
That's looking at Bitcoin in a very asset/stock type of view rather than a functional currency for the mainstream to adopt. The block size debate is the most fundamental thing that needs to be decided before things proceed. Bitcoin devs need to choose right, because while in the short term it seems mass adoption is going on and prices going toward the moon, there will be that critical point where the problems under the hood can't handle the transaction size. It's just like running your car for 20,000 miles without changing the oil... You have to have functionality and the problems under the hood to be fixed before you can see major businesses trying to adopt it... They don't just mainly look at the price and just think "oh what the hell!".

Because they dont care doesnt mean the problem is not there. We might pretend its all ok, but eventually we will have to deal with the blocksize problem, and it will affect the price, probably negatively. I just hope it doesnt get ever below 300$ again.

With or without block size problems, I too hope we never see again the bitcoin prices go below $300 levels. Even got tested there is no chances for closing prices go below $300. There are multiple solutions for every solutions are getting ready. Hope bitcoin community will implement them to make bitcoin more versatile in future for getting ready for main stream adoption.
