So here is Dwight Howard's contract. Dwight Howard’s contract with the Los Angeles Lakers was finalized and it’s $14,000 a day. And the Lakers can cut him any time with no repercussions. Talk about a deal. For the Lakers Credits to yahoo sports. Some may say it is a sad way of a deal but no. He is still going to earn like 2.5 million USD when he finish the contract. What is more? He is being paid by Grizzlies for his contract of 3 million USD. Although: The Lakers have no financial ties to Howard as he is signing a non-guaranteed deal. If he doesn’t buy-in, they will just release him. Howard cannot afford another team giving up on him and releasing him. He has a lot to prove and a great opportunity to rehab his value with the Lakers. Credits to fansided.

if he will do good, there is a big possibility of an NBA comeback just like what other NBA stars did in the past.
Forget about going back and move on. Be a star in China. I agree with Reid here. What's the point of coming back? He should just enjoy his playing time in China and retire there. He gets to play basketball and he gets to earn millions. He can simply become a basketball ambassador there just like Yao Ming. He might be the savior of the team he joined. He will be appreciated there unlike what league he left. But in your opinion? What is best for him, to play at the team he has now and come back or maybe when NBA saw he still improving, is it good for him to go back after some time? For me, I think it is better to stay with the Chinese team he has now.

For me, I think it is better to stay with the Chinese team he has now. It will all boils down with the offer, with the current team, he is only paid less than $10 million while in NBA, he can earn more than that. His stats now will dictate if he still got that Linsanity in him and if the NBA sees him improving back to his old self, I think an offer would be possible. We know Lin loves to play in the NBA so much as he is a citizen in the US so most of his life is spent in US and playing in the NBA is like playing back to his homeland again. But like I said, it's up to the NBA teams, if they are interested with Lin, we might be able to see him play again in a specific team.

Dwight Howard is unpredictable with his health status and the locker room issues , he may not jell welll with Lebron and just pack the bags and look for another team. I do hope that LBJ has the charisma of taming this beast and unleash once more the superman in Dwight that we saw when he lead the Magic to the finals long time ago.

That's a big challenge for Howard, not the salary he was use to receive but at least he knows that his market is going down, he needs to step up playing with the lakers if he want to earn a decent amount of contract again and will play with the Lakers.

Indeed, after this if Howard still does not improve, he might loss a contract. His last contract amount according to - https://hoopshype.com/player/dwight-howard/salary/ is around $5 million, bit higher compared to what he will be getting with the Lakers, but in terms of security, he is less secured with the Lakers as he will be paid in per day basis, he is like a probationary when hired in a job.

No guarantee with the current contract for Howard so this is going to be a performance-based contract. To determine if the contract with him on Lakers will go on, he has to perform very well.
I think this much better rather than with the other players situation where there's no team willing to take them even for this kind of contract.

There's no space for him to come back as there's a lots of new star that will keeps on rising that will continue disappoint him, stardom is fading for him so while he's still the got the chance to play then it's better for him to sign to whichever league that he will be able to show his skills if he's still have the opportunities to show up, no need to force himself just enjoy the money.

I think if this kind of contract was offered to Lin, he would not refuse and will stay in the NBA. IIRC they both played together with the Lakers before, so they already know each other and lin is a good back up PG who can consistently shoot and drive the ball, but that's only possible if Lebron again will give way, we know he sometimes act as point especially in crucial situations.

I also don't know about his talent, I mean he got some decent post moves but he has not really develop even a mid-range J which I think is very important for centers now.
I was talking about Dwight developing his mid-range jumpers a few days ago and then I saw this video of him shooting from range https://www.facebook.com/LakersNationPhilippines16/videos/679616389116787/It's nice to see him add more to his arsenal. It'll be more difficult to guard him if he can do it consistently.

Good to see that, but the guy that is guarding him is not his size, it's gonna be difficult for him if the person who will guard him is a 7 footer like him. But I have to appreciate that as it's an improvement, he has range now but let's see if he can apply that in the regular season. What he needs to improve and focus is his FT shooting as he can be foul easily if he drives inside since he is strong, I'm hoping to see a video of his FT shooting share here.

You won't get a 7 footer guard him that far out most of the time. The guy does have really good potential to be a dominating player back in his magic days. And i've seen the video of him practicing jumpers. You'd have to appreciate the effort there. Though he's likely not going to be one of the top options for the lakers, the guy has talent. A good coach and a good system may very well maximize him joining the lakers and bron.

If a 7 footer guy would guard him that far out, then that's good enough for the Lakers. Dwight doesn't have to shoot the ball because the likes of Lebron will most likely have an open lane to drive.

Let Lebron et al, do the shooting and Dwight will be crashing the board for those rebounds and he is gonna be fouled for that put back then shoot FT . Free throws is the dent on the armor of Howard and i don't think he has improve on that aspect of his game.

He just have to secure the offensive rebound in case Lebron will miss, but Lebron will rarely miss actually when he is driving the ball to the basket, that's his strength but he is not a consistent outside shooter. I notice in his past games, if he relies a lot in jump shooting, he can't generate more points and it will be easy for their opponent to guard him, but when he drives, he can throw the ball outside and look for an open shooter, which they should have that this next season.

I think any team would be crazy to guard dwight's outside the key, if he wants to think he is a mid range or outside shooter than so be it. I would leave him open out there all day and force him to take outside shots. Have you ever seen him shoot a foul shot, lol it's kind of funny.
