Denver had a chance last season with some injuries, like they lost to blazers in the end but if they beat blazers and than warriors had injures one series earlier than they could have won that series, very difficult and almost impossible but it was at least a bit possible.
They do not have the same chance this season because now there is parity in the league like never was, a lot of great teams, Houston with Westbrook and harden, Lakers with Lebron and AD, clippers with PG13 and Kawhi, Warriors with Curry and Klay, Spurs with Derozan and LMA. I mean there must be other teams I am forgetting and that is just west side, not even mentioning teams from east because they are not going to finals anyway. I think Denver should keep focusing on improving their guys and implementing their system further with players that will be better, doing some trades or signing FA during off-season.
The west is much improve now with the facts you've mentioned. Reason why Denver had a good standing in the past season is due to Warriors and Rockets struggling from the start but Denver remain consistent. However, when these struggling teams were able to get back in shape in the later part to the off season, that's the time the Denver Nuggets face a good team and they lost against the Blazers. We although cannot underestimate Denver Nuggets, but they are still young with lack of star players, Jokic maybe extraordinary, but who would fill his shoes in the event he gets injured, or who will he rely in the event he struggles in scoring. Jokic needs help if Denver wanted to keep improving their spot from this league. They should find a way to free up their cap and start building a solid team to help Jokic. It's time to follow the trend, teams are doing their best to get some help from stars being free agents, If they can land a Kawhi-type of intensity who can boost the rhythm of the game, it's best to aim for higher chances and to impress more fans.

Those are just the bottom pit of west, neither Denver nor Portland will be doing anything major this year, they will literally be just bottom pit playoff teams that will be eliminated on the first round of playoffs and nothing more. They had a lucky year last season but that is over now that all teams on west have better superstars than Denver and Portland.
We can't even call Jokic and Harris superstars yet, they play well together but that's about it, they are not at elite top 20 levels if you ask me. I would say if things work out for them well Houston should be the clear favorites, they still have their core of harden/capela/gordon/tucker going on but they added Westbrook instead of aging and injury prone CP3 which would make a lot of difference if they can find a way to implement Westbrook to their team.

Lol I'm far from a denver fan but jokic not a superstar yet? He MADE All NBA first team. That is reserved for the very best players at their position so he isn't top 20 level, lol cmon man. At 24 dude almost averaged a triple double. And did you forget about Murray? Cant wait for everyone to be so surprised about this team killing it again this year.

Actually waiting for them to marinate and they will really taste better on the long run. If I am the Denver management I would not let go of this two. It is like the Draymond and Curry duo or the Billups and Rasheed Wallace duo. Once that chemistry blooms more then they would be unstoppable. They will just need wing men to provide as a spacer to make that floor look likes it is a big dome specially for Jokic to move freely inside the paint. I will try to watch every game of them and see how much they had improved from last year.

Knicks have to start with some young players because they are rebuilding, players with the same skills like Murray will fit with the team. I believe we will see this improve in the long run because it's not possible, Celtics was once a bad team when they start rebuilding but had improve in the long run and until now they are still a team that has chance to win in the east. This team for example is better without a star, when Irving started playing, the chemistry has change and their performance level decrease as they love to share the ball, with a star whose offense are expected from him, it could change the system they built for years.

Just a bit of commercial and I'll interrupt for a while with the on going discussion here. But I think that I should share this video to all of you that I've watched recently. The video is about those disrespectful moves in NBA and also a bit of local basketball league. Video: When Disrespecting Another Player Goes Too FarDisclaimer: I don't own the video and not associated with the channel owner.

Changes in NBA Futures Odds: Lakers and Clippers do now have @5.2 and @4.3 respectively. If I remember correctly, both teams are around @3 last month. Don't know what are the changes happen in Clippers but on Lakers, looks like it was because of Cousins injury. And to my surprise, Milwaukee Bucks is also @5. Looks like there is a big expectation this year for this team. Does anyone know where to check NBA Futures for Conference champion? Want to check odds for Eastern Conference.
Those posterized highlights on that video (dunks, blocks etc) are not disrespecting, at least on my own view. I don't know why even back then it was called that way although maybe I just taking anything as "literal". Dudes are playing good offensively and defensively that's why it ended up like that.

We all saw how the Knicks fans are mad about why the Knicks did not even try to get Kyrie Irving or Kevin Durant. Now they are left with young guns. But who know. Brooklyn Nets did came to the playoffs last year with full of young stars. Maybe Knicks could also do it. The very least will be taking it to the playoffs and maybe their fans will get a little happy for what they will see and be back on supporting them.

They have an easier journey because they are in the east, so if they will improve this season, they might be in the playoffs, but I'm sure if they are lucky to be in playoffs, they might do a first round exit with the young talent they have, regular season is pretty different compared the playoffs. They finished last during the last season with only 17 wins and 65 losses, they are actually the worst in the NBA. https://www.basketball-reference.com/leagues/NBA_2019_standings.html

Yeah, I think there was a lot of noise that either KD or Irving or both could land in NY Knicks. There's even meme's floating around that time, and NY Knicks fans are very excited, however, we really don't know what happen behind, why negotiations failed (if there is one) to let the two get away and go to Brooklyn Nets. I guess the young guns has to proved themselves this season, and who knows, maybe they can reach the playoffs this year even with their young roster. Or someone will really stop up to be the man amongst the boys..

The current roster of the KNICKS, https://www.nba.com/knicks/rosterThe team is full of young players, I don't know if they can compete well this coming regular season, but at least since there's no star in the team, there's less pressure and they will play the based on how the coach design for them, which probably more on experimentation on the line up. List of veterans I know in the team now, Wayne Ellington, Taj Gibson and Marcus Morris. There are also familiar players but they are still new in the NBA like Julius Randle.

KD coming off a bad injury likely wont play for awhile and I just dont like kyrie's game. He seems to me to be more about himself than the team but maybe that's just perception. I'd rather the knicks build through the draft and get some of their own stars. Hopefully RJ will pan out and turn into a top player. We'll see.

I also concerned if what happened to this team it was anticipated that after allowing Porzingris to be traded they will acquire a well known stars to be build with their new young guns, if they take someone who can lift them up this season might also be interesting for them, still a better chance since they are in the east and most of those superstars from the west are going to compete. But it's the management decision's so let see if how they will perform this season.

The problem with Knicks is that they got Porzingis which was a great young player that could make a difference but got rid of him. I mean the whole point of tanking (in this case just being purely bad) you end up getting too draft picks, Knicks literally denied to do their "process" properly and they have sucked so far.
They got some young kids from free agency and trades but that is not enough really, you have to actually make them play in a good system so that they can actually get better, you could potentially get Lebron James at 18 and then manage to keep him for 10+ years without actually using him like you should and he would have never been the player he is. That's why Knicks should first get a decent coach before anything and then a decent GM.

Porzingis expressed his desire to play elsewhere so the knicks got something for him rather than just lose him in free agency and get nothing. He also had a major injury and for a 7 footer to have an acl injury like that carries risk. I was happy we got something for him. Hopefully those picks can help us build a team. And if you are looking to get a new coach and gm, you get the gm first not the coach, but they just got a new coach. Need to see what he can do with a decent squad before we move on again from another coach.

Looking at his statistics : https://www.basketball-reference.com/players/p/porzikr01.htmlTha games he played his decreasing, and probably the main reason is injury. For the 3 seasons with knicks, he played. 2015-16 72 games , 2016-17 66 games , 2017-18 48 games With that stats, that is not helpful to any team, although in the later season his points averaged has increase.

This is why a lot of hardcore Knicks fan are so mad with the management behind it. Porzingis stats was not that bad. There are worse things that happened with other players out there. Plus, you can never have that kind of tall guy again with a great shooting capability and defensive awareness. This kind of guys are rare. Nowitzki and Durant, that is why these two never got a lower salary. They are super rare. Maybe it wont happen again in the next 10 years to have that kind of unique player. Why let him go for this: Dennis Smith Jr., Deandre Jordan, Wesley Matthews Porzingis can do what this three can, maybe better and it will just be one seat for the entire roster.

They might be done with the experiment on Porzingis, and they want to try another experiment. With how the management treat him, I think Porzingis deserves to play in another team, but this player is not extraordinary like Dirk, and the stars that have won championship already. I think him being in the Dallas Mavericks will make him more valuable as he already have Luka who can also generate points for the team, and we have to remember that these guys are still young, there's still more years ahead for them to improve in the NBA. Dallas has a great chance also of getting into the playoffs in the season to come.

Good offense and defense but I also remember during my childhood that there were teasing once someone successfully played offense/defense in front of you.
