~ The pre-season looking good for the Rockets.
It's just another practice. Real action is coming in a few days. Lakers don't need him. They need a consistent outside shooter and not someone who loves to dribble. They already have Kuzma for that position but things could quickly change come midseason. I agree, Clarkson might not be needed. What they need is a 3 and d guy. Someone to guard the other teams best players and on offense can play without the ball and be a 3 point threat to spread the floor. Those types of players are invaluable come playoff time. Clarkson will demand the ball, that isnt needed for them You are basing what you see in his previous games or his task in his current team now. When he will be in the lakers with completely different squad, he might be change into a different player and that's based on the coaching staff design for him. If ever they will get him back, that means he has a big role to fill for the team, and Lebron knows him since they played together for one season.

Mavericks is still an underrated team and I expect them to improve this season despite of their untested line up.
I don't think that Mavs are being underrated. They are, because their odds ot win as NBA champion is "100/1".. http://www.vegasinsider.com/nba/odds/futures/It's a decent line for this line up, and people aren't seeing them now because of the hype of the newly upgraded teams like the Lakers, Clippers, and Rockets. Base on that site there are other teams that are lower than them. But if that's the case, I'm still looking forward to watch their matches when the regular season starts. LA Clippers is on hype due to Kawhi and PG. Well, a lot of supporters will follow their idols. This is another interesting team to watch and interesting if this two superstars will go along well. How about the Rockets, Kawhi is not that kind of a hype player but when he won the championship, I mean this team Raptors, people think this guy is the next Michael Jordan as he can carry his team to win the championship without some star players playing along with him. Well, Gasol and Lowry are stars but now with the same level with Kawhi and the top 10 players in the NBA now. I don't agree that Kawhi doesn't bring too much hype. Just after the finals, everyone turned in for Raptors but after knowing that he's going to leave the team. Everyone followed wherever he go. Rockets is a strong team now but it's not equal if the hype is just the matter.

They hype was only after they won the NBA finals but when he first joined the Raptors there was no hype as he was coming from injury that time. And if you noticed, he start with limited minutes only and he does not usually go with games outside Toronto, and its a wise decision since the Raptors does not struggle to be in the top 8 and in fact they also win a lot of games even without Leonard.

Coming from an injury and a year-long break, not a good idea to just put Kristap Porzingis on a position he is not used to.
Let him work first on his comfort zone as a PF then began changing gears if it's not effective at all but for me, don't change gears. I like him to be on his usual although it will take time.
In the first place, in today's NBA, Centers aren't that much of a used or main focus of a team's offense even in defense. Power Forward's position is now considered as a Center so I don't see any reason why Porzinigis should shift to the Center position. He can do some Center plays while maintaining his key role. Last season, Dwight Powell as a PF plays center for the Mavs and he did well. He can do again the job working on a center position alongside their newly acquired giant Boban Marjanović.

If they will give good minutes to Boban Marjanović, then I think he will become more effective. Though he is not that fast but his length should give them advantage in the paint, Luka, Porzingis and Boban playing together, they are a tall but they aren't that fast, I'm also afraid that this will become their vulnerability and teams like the Warriors who's good in fast face game might take advantage to them.

In general, there is no need to become a fast phase team too if it's really lacking on a team. It's already a no surprise that Warriors are playing like that so other teams as well knows that advantage by the Warriors. Instead of Maverick will force to become a fast phase team too, allow their players to work on their comfort zone and turned it into an advantage. Doncic, Barea, Seth Curry can do the quick phase in terms of offense and defense. It's not about matching the Warriors ability totally but if they were able to stop the fast phase game by the Warriors, they have a chance to win. For reference, Mavs and Warriors are 1-1 head to head last season. (119-114 Warriors, 126-91 Mavericks). On that 2 games, Warriors are in their complete core lineup. It just means that what you saw as Mavericks' vulnerability does have a solution and they already work for that. Let's just wait for their progress once the season starts.

I see his https://www.basketball-reference.com/players/s/stockda01.html.. is not so impressive, he only average 3.3 points but who knows if they see something in this kid to be a good contributor, but let us not expect that he will play longer minutes as for sure their starters will usually play extended minutes due to their weak 2nd unit.

Probably this kid's gonna play only if the Lakers would have a huge blow out against the opposing team. Ive seen few of his game with the Sacramento Kings and he's like a pass-first point guard. Im not sure but I think he needs to have a good shooting percentage, because his height is really small, and he dont take much jumper in a game the reason why he averaged a low ppg. I was also thinking, maybe he's a bit pressured due to the fact that his father is an NBA legend.

Hey, have you seen James Harden's new move? The one foot step back three? You should definitely watch this one. This would be a major upgrade for him.
Can we even call it a step back? He is basically running on the sidelines and shooting with one leg. It's an unreliable shot and one that should only be taken early in the game or when they are already leading by a huge margin. He can't use that on crucial moments during a game. I made a comparison in my earlier comment. Dirk = One-legged fadeaway shot Harden = One-legged running 3-point shot
His story could be like Ingram's. Lakers may actually need a guy like him. Someone who can slash inside and dish out to AD & Lebron or kick it out to an open shooter.

I agree with this. I see Warriors in the past years when they acquire KD and they usually put KD in the paint alongside with Green and Thompson or Igoudala. In my opinion, Porzingis must stay as a PF as the Mavericks have other players for the Center position like Marjanovic and Powell can be a center too. Its better if Porzingis will stay in the PF position because he can also shoot in the perimeter and in the 3 point line too. On the other games, Brooklyn Nets won against the Sesi Franca 137-89

And aside from that, The Squad is already full of competitive players, let see if how he will be able to adjust and play together with the starters and superstars of Lakers. For this kid, The opportunities might be open to bring his own name into stardom.

I have seen his latest "signature" move and it's more of a shot done on the streets. There have been shots like that in the past but only desperation or beating the buzzer shots.

That's not so relevant, they can sign anyone they one but an unknown player is like something non existent in a team if they didn't show up. Just like Jerimy Lin, he did not start as a starter and was ever send from different teams, but when the NYK needs him, he showed up and that's why Linsanity was born. If one of the starters of Lakers will be injured and he needed to fill the shoe, I think he is willing because new players likes to impress the management to get a good salary, whatever his contribution I would still not expect too much.

What? Of course you can call it a step back. When you're going to peform this shot, you tend to go to the side by using your two step and harden is good at that. How can you say its unreliable, just like you said Dirk Nowitzki is performing a one legged shot just like it. It is possible to hone it to perfect form just like Dirk.

They sign this to fill their line up. Which means, this kid is just a filler and maybe a third slinger in his spot. Low salary to comply with the salary cap and to avoid luxury tax if the Lakers will have an excess in salary cap.

His experience will definitely help the Clippers to boost their championship chances but the question is, which players they will send in exchange for Aquaman? This Center's salary is a over $20 million, so it's equivalent to 2 to 3 players if he will be traded with young players. Another question is, who would start as Center for the Clippers, this guy will definitely be a starter with that salary so they can maximize his talents to help the team.

As per the article, this is the people who will the LAC send to trade for Aquaman : "Trade Package: Mo Harkless, Jerome Robinson, Ivica Zubac, a first-round pick for Steven Adams." Not bad for the Clippers right? Though they will lost the first rounder pick, but this is worth it and Aquaman will definitely starts at the Center position. Im not sure about his height, he looks undersized to his position, but not an issue since he knows how to position himself inside from both offensively and defensively. Best of luck to who ever gets him. Btw, here the list of 5 teams where Aquaman can possibly land : phoenix suns, Sacramento kings, Charlotte hornets, LA clippers, and Boston Celtics. Additional info in the link I provided.
