Lavine and DeRozan are currently in the top 6 and 7 respectively in the PPG ranking this season. What do you think are their chances of winning the MVP? Will one of them beat the top 3 now (Curry, Durant, and Giannis)? I like to hear some thoughts since the Bulls are really surprising me this season, I'm sure not only me.

MVP usually goes to the more popular and marketable players so I don't see those two winning the MVP this season. It will most likely go to Curry or KD if none of them will be injured. Voting is supposed to be based on individual stats but some players in the past have not won despite their superior numbers.

We should use the term "rank" instead of the "top". While Rank 6 Lavigne and Rank 7 DeRozan are continuously improving their stats, those who are in the above ranks are also doing the same. It's difficult to catch up at those above ranks as they are more consistent every game. I think no chance for LaVine and DeRozan to beat those on the above ranks. The only way they can manage to get through is if those tops will be sidelined for long like minor to major injuries (cross-fingers that won't happen).

I mean, you cannot expect that much chemistry with a roster that has new players being injected. The same with the Wizards shockingly being on the top of the East last week. About MVP run, this is kind of in the unpredictable discussions. Durant is doing great putting the Nets offense in his shoulders and there is still Jokic and Doncic that should be considered. One health and safety protocol could make the top players miss a lot of games and the others on the top 4 below could surpass them easily. I can't decide who will win this but if injuries/covid are set aside, it could be Curry. He is in the zone.

And I think they are the best combo right now. But wait till Klay Thompson is back in GSW, for sure, him and Curry will be back on top as splash brothers. What do you think are their chances of winning the MVP? Will one of them beat the top 3 now (Curry, Durant, and Giannis)? I like to hear some thoughts since the Bulls are really surprising me this season, I'm sure not only me. Well they really need to bring the Bulls to the top of the East just to get either names to be in the discussions of MVP this season. And with Luka back in the Mavericks uniform, it will be a tight race for this year. So I would say that they have a chance, but they really need to perform and bring the Bulls as the top seed.

Yes, if GSW will continue it's winning streak and Curry getting his second straight scoring title maybe we can see a unanimous votes for him as MVP. But as you have said, Doncic's magic is still there and we all know that in the beginning, he was the odds favorite to win the MVP. Last year we didn't see Jokic winning until after the All-Star Break if I'm not mistaken. So I guess it is still open but Curry by far is above the rest right now. Being the top seed though doesn't mean a thing in the MvP race.

To be honest, if Steph was able to bring GSW to the playoffs last season he would have gotten that season MVP award but Jokic outshined Curry since Curry wasn't able to play several games as he injured his tailbone. If Steph and the GSW stay consistent and perform with such great ball movement and defense then we'll definitely see a better GSW and a better Steph this season compared to all of their active seasons.

I think it's early to conclude this discussion, especially we are not yet passing the NBA All-star week 2022. anything can happen next year but if Klay Thompson will further boost Curry's performance then you can say try again next time to the other candidate because they won't have a chance at all. Stephen Curry has once again become the all-time favorite this year as you can see there are lots of fans on the court when they play just to see him shoot those stunning threes.

Exactly, it's too early to conclude, the race is still on and DeRozan and Lavine are really doing well with how they are making their team successful. Both teams have a co-star, Durant has Harden, and Curry has Thompson (soon).. but with Thompson's being limited, then most likely Curry would have most of the contribution that and that will his stats looks good.

Its a big surprise that the Bulls are right now at the top after not entering the playoffs last season. Lavine and DeRozan played better this season compare to last season but I think that they have a low chance of winning the MVP this season. We know who is the top pick for MVP right now and its Curry. Maybe if Curry gets injured (hope not) then these 2 have a shot of winning it but right now, my and some others' pick here is Curry. The Curry that we are seeing right now is almost the same as the Curry way back in 2014-2015 and the difference is that, he has more help from other players compare to that time. Still he is my pick right now but too early since we are nowhere the half of the season.

After a day of thanksgiving break, there will be 12 games on the line. Wow! Curry will be facing Dame. This will be fun to watch with the battle of speed and mostly outside shooting plays. Dame will have CJ and Powell as his wingmen and Curry will have Poole and Wiggins. GSW needs to be alert with Nurkic too as that guy will shoot some 3's if ever he is free. Looney or Draymond cannot sleep on him on screen and roll plays.

He's unarguably the best shooter of all time, that alone can be enough to tell he's an MVP caliber player. Though there were a bunch of good players in the NBA today especially the young guns, but as you said Curry has been great once again. He had an early momentum most probably he will finish the way he started the season.

He never out of MVP discussion but by looking at his current performance this season plus his team is dominating already he have better chance to grab that award the only thing they do first for now is to secure the playoff spot and next to that is the finals so that he will increase more his stats to snatch that in this season. Yeah there are so many young potential players this season but they are not at the same level with curry so no worries about those things.

What Curry made more successful this season is because he is healthy, not only that, he also gets the support from his teammates, they are stepping up and they make the Warriors once again a tough team to beat, it's like the old Warriors who easily dominate their opponent, and take not, this team is still without Thompson, so expect a better team with Thompson but Curry would still lead the team as usual.

And I hope he will remain healthy as I don't want to see a team struggle again because their main star player is injured, that will not bring healthy competition and the winner of this season might not get the full respect from the fans as they will think they only win because the best team suffered from injury. Just like last season, The LA, Lakers, LA Clippers, and Nets are the best teams but their star players are injured, so other teams takes the opportunity to advance.

Damn true. The hardest part of all when you are playing a physical game, to keep yourself safe and at the same time be healthy to avoid injuries in practices or in game. That requires a lot of time in the gym and everyday stretches which others are lazy to do. Like me. I think Jokic will still have a fighting chance for the MVP race if ever someone will step up his game and be a legit shooter. With that, his assist per game could go high giving him an opportunity to be on top again. No update regarding Jamal Murray yet so thinking that could help is out of the question.

A perfect combo, Murray is very dangerous when you give him free space, Jokic benefits from that a she have a wide court eyesite. Each time he needs to pass the ball Murray cover him and take the shots, I was wondering what happened to Porter Jr, without the main intrior of Nuggets, it's hard for Jokic to win a back to back season MVP. Still got plenty of time though, he just need to play well and keep enhancing the level of his game.

And I think it's more of his discipline, he is no longer the skinny kid with he first make it to the NBA. He has gain so much muscle that you can't just push him as compare to 3-5 years ago. So he can now dry more often score more basketball without getting the risk of injuries. I think Jokic will still have a fighting chance for the MVP race if ever someone will step up his game and be a legit shooter. It boils down to his team though, and with MPJ out Jokic will have to take all the offensive load and it might cause him some problems down the line and he should remain consistent too just like last year.

We have an early game today: Los Angeles Clippers v Detroit Pistons. LA Clippers are a good team when we consider their current condition this season. But they haven't been very impressive lately as they lost three times in the last four weeks. But Pistons are far worse than them now. They lost 14 of their 18 games so far. They are really terrible and they will search for a way out in this game. Batum and Leonard are absent at Clippers. But I think they can still make use of Pistons' current condition and win it.
