76ers are doing great and they won another game against a really tough opponent like Bucks this time. Embiid was the star of the game like he is nearly all the time. I hope that they can maintain this effort in the playoff round too. Because there have been many teams that were very good in the regular season but were terrible in the playoffs. 76ers deserve to be successful this season and I hope they wouldn't be eliminated earlier in the playoffs. But after Harden's joining, it doesn't seem very likely. The most important thing is his adapting to the team quickly.
That's a good win by the 76ers, though Harden is still not playing, they still manage to beat the Bucks. Embiid had 42 points, which was a huge one, he beat Giannis here and he take his team to success. Looks like 76ers is still a strong team despite of the trade happened recently.
Joel Embiid is really a MVP candidate in my opinion. He has been carrying the team without Simmons this season. And after what had happen, losing some of its best players like Curry and Drummond, he still manages to carry the team in his back. And it's a great win against their rivals in Bucks in the East. So for me this is a statement win for Joel and the Sixers.
As of now, he holds the lead because of his good games, prior the season was opened, he is not even in the top 3, but now he is already in the top 1.

you can see the entire list in this link - https://www.oddsshark.com/nba/nba-mvp-betting-odds

Quote
Joel Embiid   +125
Nikola Jokic   +325
Giannis Antetokounmpo   +375
Stephen Curry   +800
Ja Morant   +1200

I'm not sure yet if there are still betting sites that have opened odds for the MVP betting.

I feel like Demar DeRozan has been snubbed just a bit when it comes to current MVP voting, or I should say predictions. He’s 4th in scoring, had his team tied for first place in the eastern conference and looking better than they have in years. He just broke the record for most games scored of 35+ pts with 50% shooting percentage..7 games straight so far

I agree with you, in that case, I guess betting on DeRozan to win the season's MVP is a good idea. Based on the updated odds shared, DeRozan is +2800, that's a lot of return for $100, isn't it tempting?

It certainly is tempting, but I'm not sure he has much of a chance.  My post was mostly pointing out the fact that I feel like he's been a bit snubbed from the conversation.  Most outlets gambling/espn straw poll have him around 6 or 7.  I certainly believe Embiid and the Joker are deserving of the top two spots, but I'm just not sure guys like Chris Paul and Trae Young deserve to be placed above him.  I guess if he keeps it up they'll have no other choice but to take him a bit more seriously.

If you will ask me, I would put a little bet on DeRozan as he is bringing consistent numbers every game, and not only for himself, the result of his performance is very evident and that makes the team still at the number 1 spot despite Lavine are missing some games.

I gotta say I'm team LeBron again this year.  Ever since they've been doing these drafts it has been pretty apparent that LeBron has a higher basketball IQ than Durant.  Every year LeBron's team seems to be totally stacked.  This year is no different.  While you never really can tell how an All-Star game is going to go, LeBron's team has a clear talent edge and I think that will be enough to give them the victory.

As always, I'm most excited for the Slam Dunk competition.  I'll try to catch as many of the weekend events as I can though.  Rising Stars Game and 3 point competition definitely on the watch list as well.  The main event should be a good one though.  I'd bet the over if it was 280.

^^ Previously, they have Drummond to relived Embiid and play as center and he was really effective. And now that he is gone, for sure they are going to play small just like the rest of the other teams in the NBA.

So it's a good win for them, although I have the Bucks on this one to win and cover the spread, it was really a close and very intense game and that is good enough for me even though I lost my bet.

That was a good bounce back by the Sixers, they lose to the Celtics in a big margin and now they beat the Bucks at home, I already smell a possible ECF between the two teams and I can see the Sixers have a great chance to beat the defending champion.
After losing by 48 points to the Celtics, they bounced back and defeat the Bucks at their home.

If today is the end of the regular season, these 2 teams will meet on the Semi-Finals if they win both. Now with regards to who will win between the both of them, I think I will go with the Bucks with this. With their current roster, I don't think that they can defeat the Bucks. Nobody can stop Giannis except for Embiid and for me, their small ball isn't that effective like how the Warriors are doing their small ball team. No disrespect with the Sixers though and they are a good team but they trade too many players just to get Harden who is injured as of this moment (hamstring) so right now we don't know when he will play. Its just my opinion though Smiley. The ball is round and anything can happen.

Good thing they managed to bounce back and of course Embiid made a spectacular points in the game before the regular season ends.

I can't tell about who is likely to meet in the Semis yet because there's still the Heats and Bulls, and they will be a threat in the East along with the Bucks and 76ers. Anything now is just a speculation about the 76ers roster if they can really survive towards the Semis with Harden as a new player and we can't conclude about that yet until they play together. Anyways, Harden is set to make his appearance and make a debut on 25th against Timberwolves.

If you are talking about finals MVP that's too far, DeRozan needs to bring his team first to the finals

Then we will discuss that, but if I'm not mistaken, you are referring to seasons MVP and you are correct a lot of players
are also capable of winning that award.

Stars who are shining right now, we can't remove Curry to the long list, and also to mention some, we have Embiid and Morant
and Luka, but then again, still early for that. Let's enjoy and wait for the All-Star MVP for now.

What an epic game it was and I mean the Golden State Warriors - Denver Nuggets one. It was a very competitive game and honestly I was expecting Warriors to win this. But Nuggets fought so hard that they equally deserved to win. The 3-pointer Monte Morris made over Stephen Curry was just insane. His hands didn't even shake then and it was a flawless shot. And this shot brought the 117-116 win to them. Congrats to them on their great win! And btw, Jokic had a spectacular performance too. He got 35 pts, 17 reb and 8 ast. What an effort!

This loss cost me my parlay for the day.  Cry  The Nuggets are a team that can definitely shock anyone on any given night.  Jokic shows why he is an MVP when he needs to.  The crazy thing is that a couple of the team's best players are out with injuries.  The Nuggets are still a young team and I think they're going to be very good for several more years.  I'm not sure if this season will lead them towards a title hope, but once they get everyone back to full strength next year (hopefully) I think they have a real shot at challenging some of the best teams in the league deep into the playoffs.

I'm sorry about your loss. And yeah, Nuggets are really an unpredictable team this season. As they don't have Jamal Murray due to his ongoing injury, I thought that they would have a problematic season. But it is the opposite now. They are doing a great job and we see them at the sixth place in their conference standings. This is really promising for the playoff stage too. Maybe they can do nice things then but I don't expect them to reach even the conference finals. And we will see until what point Jokic will continue to carry his team.

I hope not only on the bench but once he will start playing with the team. Embiid looks healthy and we can really see his real potential when he is healthy and does not have a problem with his knee, that was a good statement that they should be taken seriously as they are a real threat.
Well, he is a superstar, you can expect he will produce. The only crucial thing is the chemistry, since Embiid is the franchise player of the Sixers, he should be the one who will be the lead man of the team, and Harden has to understand that if he wants to stay longer to the team and if he wants to build a good chemistry.
Chemistry. I think Harden is not that hard to work with but there are just blanks that is difficult to explain. When CP3 was injured back in Houston Harden was suddenly shut off like he ain't stepping up his game whenever someone steps up for him.
I wish this will not be the case when a sudden bad thing happens to Embiid. He should remember he is also one of the stars of the leagues and he should begin acting like one.
He made a strong chemistry with Capela and that big guy knew whenever he will throw the ball at him or he will shoot it. That's some feat that takes years to master and yet they did it in a short span of time.

I know that Capella and Embiid have their differences, but if both Embiid and Harden are aiming for the same goal, they can

build a strong bond and create a good chemistry between each other. They are the stars of the Sixers now and for that they needed

to impress not just the management, but especially the fans who are supporting them.

More fans to love their duo, the more money that they can have while playing together. Working with good chemistry will reflect

to how they will perform the game.

Just heard Anthony Davis is going to be out for awhile again.  Said it in the beginning of the year this team is way to old to compete for anything deep into the playoffs.  Just too many miles on too many guys here, can't keep up with the young fresh legs.  If it weren't for the bottom half of the western conference being so bad I'd say they won't even male the play in games

There was a really great game last night. Philadelphia 76ers - Milwaukee Bucks. Joel Embid had another amazing game. With a 42 points performance, he carried his team again to another victory. Although, Giannis had an almost triple double, 32 points, 11 rebounds and nine assists. His amazing performance was not enough for the win. Because I believe Bucks couldn't had a solid performance at the end of the game. Both teams fought greatly at the end but 76ers had one step ahead. I find this game rather very important. Even without Harden, 76ers are quite good. If Harden becomes a team player and can contribute a solid performance, I believe they might be a contender for the east finals, even east champions.

Sixers versus Nets finals, Suns vs Warriors finals, and then whoever out of the two of those four teams end up winning they go to NBA finals and face each other. That would be the ideal scenario for me. Suns vs Warriors because they are the two best teams from the west, but from the east I rather see nets vs Sixers (which is unlikely by the looks of it) because I think it would be a lot more fun to watch all the drama.

I know it is not going to be the best, I know people are expecting something like Bulls vs Heat because those are at the top but there is no drama there, it would be boring game that doesn't have any narrative to talk about in that case at all.

I might be of the minority here but I still expect the Bucks to win the East until someone takes them down.  In a series giannis in his prime is completely unguardable.  I think a Bucks Suns finals again would be great.  Might actually think about throwing some money on the Bucks to win the east.

Not really a bad choice but I would rather see the Bulls vs Heat in the Eastern Conference finals. Either of them will do if one team is eliminated early. I find it more fun if I see teams really deserving that plays good basketball.

Him vs Embiid in his current form should be a good match up. It doesn't matter if it's Finals or not.

Suns still continue to tear their competitors apart one by one. Their last game was against Rockets and they won by a close margin like 124-121. Rockets are the most terrible team of this season now. But they still competed very well against Suns here. Suns are one of the number one contenders for the title already now. But we will see what happens in the playoff stage. Maybe Suns are going to make it this time after losing the title chance in the final last season.

I still cannot believe that the Suns are so powerfull last 2 seasons in the NBA from out of nowhere honestly . Last year they were pretty close in the play offs im intrested to see if they can try and win it this year. Some solid teams are in the NBA but no one is really good

It should not be a surprise.

You, as a tipster for long, should realize that Chris Paul's effect is always good on all teams he played with.

I don't understand the last part of your statement, what do you mean by some solid teams in NBA but no one is really good? How can they be called solid if they are not good? Am I understanding it right?

It's because of Chris Paul's experience overall, he is what we call "point God", because he knows how to control the momentum and he himself can score in crucial moments.

Last year was very close, but they don't have the experience yet in the NBA finals. Actually all of them, but this year, they look solid and I wouldn't be surprised if they go to the Finals again this year.

Yeah, looks like he's out of action for at least another 4 weeks. By the way, I agree with you that older players are more prone to injury, but not in this case. I mean, Anthony Davis is only 29 years old, and he gets injured a lot more than his older teammates. I even wonder how many times he has already been injured this season. It seems to me that this has happened 3 or 4 times.

There's history, that's why. Back and shoulder and leg injuries. Then, big men are prone to injuries and most of the time it becomes a career-ender if it doesn't heal at full scale. Thankfully, there will be a week of rest because of the All Star but it would not suffice for his come back.
Betting against them after the break would be the wisest decision if ever they are up against strong teams. Because they had been winning with Davis around but not when he is out. They are in the 9th seed but all teams behind them are not that strong so I am sure they will enter play-in tournament which is their only chance for reaching the playoffs.

Phoenix Suns vs GS Warriors will likely to have a game in the WCF Finals as they are the leading teams for a while now. But in the East, 76ers and Brooklyn Nets will do but they have a lot more to prove to deserve that spot to be in the ECF Final showdown. Aside from that, I doubt that Chicago Bulls, Miami Heats and the Milwaukee Bucks will just agree about that.
