I missed the game of Pelicans but upon looking for some updates and news about it, I was shocked and surprised again about Zion Williamson. This guy just got recovered and then he's injured again.

But as per the news, it's not that critical as before. Well, hopefully it isn't so that he'll come back as what he has said.

And the Pelicans could say worth it for the contract they got for him.  Grin

He's okay.
You scared me there for a while after reading your news. I didn't watch their game too.
Quote
“I want to use the right term, but in the moment, it didn’t feel too good,” Williamson said. “It was one of those things that happened and I popped back up like, ‘Yeah, I’m straight.’ Played a few minutes after that, felt fine, then they sent me to the back just to double-check.”
We could say the weight trim is working. If he is still heavy it won't end up like this. Maybe worst.
I've just read a couple of headlines and that made me look at what happened and good thing that it's not that bad as before. He's just getting back on shape and said some words that he's going to show what he hasn't shown before.

I was not able to watch the game but good thing the injury is not serious, otherwise, it will be a complete disappointment not seeing him again this season. The Pelicans have invested on him, trusting his recovery and that he could come back fully healthy again, but if major injury would happen again, I don't know, maybe they will find a way to trade him.
Yep. It wasn't that bad at all.

He could end up like the other players that have been so good and expected a lot but then, injury disabled them. We can name a few of them that have went miserably because of injury.

Let's just be optimistic that Zion is much different this time and fortunately, it was just a minor injury. Let the kid do the work because I believe he can still make a difference, he is not that prone just like the other players who ended their careers much earlier.

Just like what happened with DeMarcus Cousins. Injuries after injury made him less valuable and even today he is having a hard time finding a team.
One of the worst things that happened in a player's history regarding the possibility of getting a good contract.
That year, I remember that he was already expecting a max contract in the off-season not just with the New Orleans Pelicans but on other teams as well. Unfortunately, the injury came and from there, he didn't have a chance now to taste a very good contract until his value depreciate up to this point.
I hope the Denver Nuggets can give him another shot even for 1-year basis.
As long as he remained healthy, he can still be a good asset coming off the bench.
He can be a great addition to the team, and that is proven because we've seen him already in the past playoffs his contribution was really valuable. I can't discount his will to contribute to the team, if only the coaching staff will give him enough playing time, he can give more help the team to win.
Fingers crossed my brothers. He proved himself well at that run with the Denver Nuggets, especially at the time when he was given more than 20 minutes of playtime.
Even until now, I am confused with why he is not signed yet. He trimmed his body weight, he can shoot threes from Warriors to Nuggets.
All he need is a contract.
I bet he is willing to take even a veterans contact just to show his skills again and how he is getting better after every season.
I have a speculation that maybe because of his attitude, team are not willing to give him at least 1 year to proved his worth in the NBA. But damn, during his prime, DeMarcus Cousins was beast and he was really huge that it's hard to stop him because of him being versatile, inside and out. And we thought that he can achieved success with the Warriors as well, but it was too bad that after he joined, some members too, got injured.

If he gets a reasonable chance he will be really eager to show why he is the best. However, the problem is that he often gets injured in the process.
Having a player like that can be a serious problem for any team as well as for his career too. In order for him to prove himself to a team, he will have to play a better game if they give him a chance. He can easily get injured while trying to play better. As a result, I cannot really blame anyone for what happened. Injuries are quite unfortunate for any player. It is also my hope that the Denver Nuggets will give him another chance.

@Dave1, I think attitude is ok, having said that, he is 32 years old and, to be honest, it is easy for him to get injured because of his age. Therefore, I highly doubt that the Denver Nuggets will give him a second chance.

Reports said that it is just a minor injury, so finger crossed, and hopefully we can see him when the regular season starts. The team is exciting to see with him around, last year, we thought that they will have a bad season. But Ingram pushes them and so with Zion back in the line up, we should expect the Pelicans to be on the upper side of their division. Yes, he is not that prone to injury, he is just super athletic for his body that it really did take a toll on him. But he has slim down already and that is a good indication that he is very serious to make a huge comeback.

There was actually another video that went viral where it looks like he also ignored a team huddle call by Pat Beverley. He addressed both videos in an interview,
- Pre-game excuse: He's doing his pregame ritual so he couldn't join.
- Bev huddle excuse: He's talking to the coaches about the previous play.

Here's a more complete video where you could see him with the team before he ran to the corner and missed the huddle
https://twitter.com/ClutchPointsApp/status/1580551050670788610

Another clip that shows what he's doing before Pat Bev called for a huddle
https://twitter.com/WorldWideWob/status/1580611313528557570

Well, he has his own rituals, I think this is really not a big issue, they don't give a care about Russ is not in a huddle, but surely he didn't mean any harm Russ is trying to be Russ well let's just see if he clearly learn from last season but maybe he is trying his very best, and I think he now trying a defensive play aswell, but that isn't really Russell Westbrook if he cares so much with defense,

I have a speculation that maybe because of his attitude, team are not willing to give him at least 1 year to proved his worth in the NBA. But damn, during his prime, DeMarcus Cousins was beast and he was really huge that it's hard to stop him because of him being versatile, inside and out. It was not really his lucky day during his Golden State Warriors Career, many injuries so there is a huge percentage that they will not get the championship, that time it was really just a stroke of Bad luck even though he did his all for that team the star's injury really is a tragedy that many teams will surely suffer, not only the Warriors,

The last Preseason game was Sacramento King VS Los Angeles Lakers but yeah we all know that the Lakers were not really winning the game, and It is OK because it is Preseason but the real game will begin on October 19, so our 1st season game for the NBA area The Boston Celtics VS Philadelphia 76ers, will definitely give what I think on the game and my pick, but for now, will be getting ready for the start of the NBA,

Looks like Jordan Poole got his bag. 140 million dollar contract extension. I wonder if this would have played out differently without the Green incident. This pretty much seals Green’s fate with the Warriors. They can’t afford to pay him what he’ll want without paying half a billion dollars in luxury taxes. Now we wait and see if Draymond gets traded, opts into his player option for next year, or is involved in a sign and trade.

Wow, huge contract for a young Jordan Poole, but honestly he deserves that because he already played like a superstar, people are calling him the next Steph Curry so it's no surprised that the Warriors would invest in him. With regards to Draymond Green, I think there's a good chance that he'll be traded because no chance now that he will get a max contract.

We are optimistic but some events can't be controlled and that's frustrating when I've heard it again but then suddenly turned into nothing to worry about.

I'm optimistic about him and the media and everyone's attention is on him.

Yeah, moving forward and waiting for him to give some good numbers to the Pelicans.

Poole performed well last season, and it looks like the Warriors' management is well aware Poole has huge potential. So this contract extension was quite expected. At the same time, this deal might not be good news for Draymond because the Warriors are clearly hinting that they prefer Poole.
p.s.
There is news that Wiggins has also agreed to a $109 mln extension with the Warriors.

I'm thinking that probably someone has given way for him to get that contract. But yeah, the Poole fans got nothing to worry about now as he's secured with this 4-year contract deal from GSW.

There is news that Wiggins has also agreed to a $109 mln extension with the Warriors.
I haven't seen that news yet but maybe later it's going to come out as this deal from Poole has been out recently. So basically, that will be followed later if that has happened already.

A bit disappointing that LiAngelo Ball was waived by the Hornets. I’m not sure if he’ll ever be able to play in an NBA game. Watching him, he is a damn good catch and shoot player, but that’s not enough to make it in the NBA. Looks like Lonzo and LaMelo are going to have to carry the torch for the Ball family. At least for now.

Looks like Jordan Poole got his bag. 140 million dollar contract extension.

A well-deserved contract in my opinion based on how he performed last year. It is clear now that GSW is gearing Poole as their next core when the current core starts to have their performance decline.

I think, yeah, it could have been different if Green did not punch Poole. GSW could have waited for this season to finish before they offer a contract to Poole to see if he continues to have a stellar performance. But because of the altercation, GSW might lose Poole which forced their hands to offer the max extension.

~snip~

Let's just be optimistic that Zion is much different this time and fortunately, it was just a minor injury.
We are optimistic but some events can't be controlled and that's frustrating when I've heard it again but then suddenly turned into nothing to worry about.

I'm optimistic about him and the media and everyone's attention is on him.

I watched a video that explains that it might turn into a recurring injury for Zion because he sprained his ankle on his own. He did not step on any foot that could cause the sprain. If it is true, then we may see Zion getting injured over again unless he does something about it. He should take note of how Steph Curry solved his ankle sprain problem. Steph worked with a therapist to relieve the ankle of the stress and pass it to his hips. I do not know how it exactly works but it is worth it for Zion to explore this.

Green's fate will be depending on how he will perform this upcoming season, but for both Wiggins and Poole they are now
secure with huge contract extension, both young and really give good help for the splash bro, GSW is again fully equipt
entering this new season, are they going to win another back to back now?

Gigantic contract extension is what you get for an incredible performance in the court. He's still young and vibrant, that means he still have more years to play games and his contract with his team is a big move for him. Jordan just hit the lotto because such a whopping amount contract for him, he's now overrated in the team as one of the top earners and Jordan will make good debut in games just to proof that he's worth the amount the team agreed with him. We are just hoping that he won't turn out to be a flop after this big contract extension for him.

This could be an elaborate plan, but maybe it is not, but it could be for Jordan Poole to make amends for the incident but I really don't know why a sudden contract like this at the start of the season, and not just Jordan Poole Andrew Wiggin is a no brainer as well, but next season they will be having a problem with the Draymond Green contract, and so the Golden State Salary could surely choke a Hippo with this so much max contract players, or yeah the Golden State Warriors will surely make a hard decision on if Draymond Green could have a max contract or leave the team,

Well, let's all see about it Zion Williamson s getting better and better with 1 steal from a preseason game against the Chicago Bulls, Steal this is the Preseason but surely he is showing that he already return in good shape, I think the New Orleans Pelicans have got themselves a great diamond from those rocks they have,

I feel sorry for Draymond Green I really feel that he is doing great with the defense that the Warriors need, and he is the only Center positioned player that can put threes with the most accuracy, seeing the records, that is why he might really feel pissed off, he really thinks to himself that he has given his all with the distraction for some teams, as the main defense of the Warriors, but it was really not enough and because of the incident he needs to show to the team that he is the player they will be needing to those plays that the Warriors have establish with him,

4 years contract, that's  $35 million per year, higher than Draymond Green which only making $25 million this season.
I wonder how he is feeling now, a young player getting bigger salary than him, and how about Andrew Wiggins contract extension, what would be the effect?

@Dave1, I think attitude is ok, having said that, he is 32 years old and, to be honest, it is easy for him to get injured because of his age. Therefore, I highly doubt that the Denver Nuggets will give him a second chance.
I think so too. He was not on the headlines about making a fuss in Denver Nuggets. He was just there, playing at his best and contributing to the Nuggets while they are fighting in the playoffs. He actually did a great job there. I think he is old enough to know what he did back then was all a mistake and he is trying to straighten it out.

I doubt that.
If that didn't happen it will be a different ending. Maybe it will be Green who will get the contract extension instead of him.
Perhaps they investigated it deep and heard other things from his team mates.

That's good, well, last season they have a good run despite not having Zion, so we can expect that at the start of the season they will be one of the top teams in the West. Getting in the playoffs again with a healthy Zion, for sure they'll become better and we might see them a great contender in the West.

Zion's ability to dominate inside is very big especially now that Ingram is very confident already with his shooting and attacking the paint.

For sure Green has heard about it and could be working for his own contract extension, a max if he can. But then again in the recent days we have seen what he had done not just to Jordan Poole but to the rest of the guys in the team. He might be feeling shit right now after hearing both Poole and Wiggins have sign for a huge contract. So we might as well see Green in other teams. We've seen others speculated that he will play with Lebron at Lakers but we will see.

There are many teams to look forward this season and the Pelicans are one of them. Zion is back and trimmed down but he still big and heavy. I agree, if Zion will persevere on cutting the weight prescribed to him, he can reach to his full potential. His awareness and IQ are remarkable.

My guess on the Pelicans supposed they remain healthy the whole season is to take the sixth to tenth spot in the western conference. There are too many young talents in the team. They need to be together in a playoffs experience in order for them to grow.
