The best game today was the Miami Heat versus the Phoenix Suns.
It's unusual to witness a win from a defensive stance and Jimmy Butler made players and fans see again how the defense is a crucial part to win a game.
That block he did against Booker was so impressive it made me stand in my seat. Goosebumps.
Adebayo took care of their 4th quarter offense but Butler did a lot to prevent Booker from being an offensive monster. A splendid win for the Miami Heat.
And Miami is known for their defense if I'm not mistaken, and that's how they built their team. Butler is a offensive players but he usually locks the opposite player. And we all know that Booker is one player hard to stop, but as soon as you know how to play this guy, maybe you will have a chance to shut him down. And so that's what Butler did, make Booker uncomfortable and that block to like put a dagger on the Suns.

You know that Butler would always play defense, in fact, he is better in defense than offence, so they need someone to help when it comes to producing points because he cannot be too consistent like Curry and Booker who are great offensive players. Also, Booker is clutch so you can trust in him to make the last shot for the team.

News says that Victor is more talented than Lebron in the same age.

But for this season, the Lakers need to take if they want to have a inside track of the rookies. Nevertheless this will be another frustrating season for the Lakers and the Lebron himself.

They have been criticized since the start of the season, but there's no denying that they will continue to struggle and might have a hard time reaching the playoff. It will take a lot of effort for the aging body of Lebron to bring the Lakers this season.

The Lakers have pretty weak potential this season. So if they don't change anything, even the play-in tournament will be an unattainable goal for them again. Nevertheless, I don't think this is another frustrating season for LeBron. Let me remind you that LeBron has only 1076 points left to break Kareem's record, which means that this season will be special for LeBron anyway, no matter how the Lakers perform.

As for the Nets, when they were with Kyrie everything has f up. The Bucks might have lost against the Hawks but that single lose is still nothing compared to the other teams that are now swimming with loses.
They're still at the top on the standings, currently at 2 while the other teams with known superstars, they're even below the rank of 10.

Controversy can disturb their organization so if they keep dealing with them for sure nothing will happen on their team maybe its good for Tsai to trade him while kyrie still have a good value he might get good player in exchange with him. They should look what Jazz do because this is really outstanding job for having great rooster even if they don't have stars on their team.

For bucks their defeats is tolerable since not everyday they can take the win and every time we see them lose they comeback stronger so I can say they are still top team predicted by many fans to reach on finals this season.
Well, they've been into too much drama and I don't know if those issues have really affected them as a team. But yeah, they certainly do because of one expected player to lift them up misses a lot of games and can't focus ahead on their games because of his involvement with several issues.

The Brooklyn Nets play is just too obvious. Just don't let Durant get the ball and all is well.  Grin
The Lakers won thanks to that lack of ball rotation from them. Plus, AD is superb today as he leads the team with 37 points and 18 rebounds.
This is the Lakers that I want to see, transition plays, everyone touching the ball to get their rhythm, and letting everyone contribute on both ends of the floor.
They did a great job even without Lebron, I hope this continues.

It's pretty promising that the Lakers won the game without Lebron. But in this match they won, their opponent was the Brooklyn Nets, it should not be forgotten Cheesy
The Nets may be in a crisis right now and it may be difficult for the team to recover. I think they have been one of the most inconsistent teams in the league this season. Some matches can be played very well, while some matches can be played very badly

It's fairly interesting and shocking that they really defeated the Nets even without LeBron, also, we saw that their play is different when there's no LeBron on the court. It turns out that they are more flexible because they are not following Lebron's lead and they are just on their own, enjoying the game while punishing the Nets. I may be wrong but I certainly hope that they will be consistent on their performance.

I do not know what is wrong with the warriors and why they are losing lately but on paper, they are supposed to be a strong team. Maybe there is too much offense in their team that defense is already neglected. They are giving the opponent too many scores. This season they are 119.2 opponent points per game. They are the highest so far. This shows how lacking they are in defense.

The Lakers are questionable to me too. At the rate they are going, they will not make it to the playoffs. They may not even make it to the play-in. They need drastic changes to their roster in order to improve their standing.

On points they are not really behind, in fact they held one of the highest points per game made but as we can see, that is not enough to bring the team to a win. Chef Curry is still have the hot hands and leads the team when it comes to offense, but it seems to me that their offense is not their best defense because the other teams in the league already know their small ball set-up. Frankly, they need a couple of players who will give them a stronger defense than what they have now because they chose to let their best guys in defense during the off-season.

How about Joel Embiid putting up the best stat line of the year so far last night. He got 59 points, 11 rebounds, 8 assists and 7 blocks. A monster night. He also scored 26 of the 76ers final 27 points. He did it all while shooting 19 of 28 from the field. They’re saying it was a Wilt Chamberlin style stat line. Not bad.

Joel Embiid now joined Wilt Chimberlain and Michael Jordan in record books, he's been so consistent lately and he must be proud to himself as the only Sixers in history to do that and made a 40+ points triple double.

Quote
Just yesterday I was reading that the 76ers were trying to work a deal to get Durant to Philly…

I've read that article too, but I think that it is far from reality. The Sixers won't destroy their current system just to add Durant and his kind of play in their equation, that will take some time again before they can stand up again, and it's proven that Durant with Harden is not a good idea, other than that, they can't probably meet the Nets request in exchange for KD.

I can say that the Los Angeles Lakers surprised me the most this year. They started the season badly. 2nd from the last in the western conference with 3 wins and 10 losses. LeBron James failed to save. The important thing is to be a team and we have seen this once again.

Lakers era might be on the verge of ending and same goes with LeBron unfortunately Sad. Maybe he has 1 more year on a full scale but after that , he will be in a decline as age won't forgive him either. It's like in every sport , we are starting to enter in a new era , with fresh players and the one we grew up with , they are getting older .. so I do hope we will see a "last dance" story from Lakers and LeBron.

This might be the story though with Lakers and Lebron, gonna be a sad separation, yes he did bring his championship to Laker nation, but it seems that it was just a one hit wonder.

After that it was all going down, bad decisions after bad decisions. And now we have seen that his body is failing him already as he is again injured. And Lakers still not even in the .500 category.

The last dance sounds good. I'm sure anyone who loves basketball will enjoy it. I want the Lakers and LeBron to succeed in their last remaining years. They left us good memories. As you said, we are entering a new era in basketball. Basketball players who grew up with us are now slowly giving their place to new young players. This is normal by the nature of any sport. Hopefully, as we said, we will remember LeBron and the Lakers together for many years to come. I'm not interested in the last failure. Getting older is in the nature of every athlete. But again, I say why not one last dance.

When Lebron is back, things will change and it will be his style that will be implemented. Although Lebron is just a player but he only acts as a couch sometimes, it's not too obvious though but that's what I'm seeing. Good job by the Lakers, winning is very important for them to be in the playoffs spot.

By the way, Warriors loss again.  Grin

I understand what you're trying to say and it's not hard to point out that Lebron can sometimes be the reason why the team has struggled, there are times that they can get an easy win without Lebron and there are also some occasions too that they highly need Lebron in the court. I'm not trying to say that it's much better without Lebron, but they should at least be versatile enough to know what kind of play needed for the team because that's one of their problems aside from consistency.

A couple of good teams playing in tonight’s TNT doubleheader. Up first Zion and the Pelicans take on Ja Morant and the Grizzlies. Hopefully we get some good dunks between Zion and Ja as the form 1 and 2 picks face off. Then we get the red hot Sacramento Kings vs the struggling Nets. That one could go either way but I tend to give the benefit of the doubt to Durant. A good night for some basketball.

Lakers winning was definitely a good sign for them, AD didn’t train too hard this summer, so he is bringing back himself a bit more slower but this game showed what he is capable of doing and has failed to do so far, if he keeps this up, even like 3/4 of it, then he would be a beast for sure. On the other hand, I watched Warriors dissect Spurs, and I know spurs is not great this year and all but they really played well and Warriors just played an insane basketball.

The way they play looks like a cheat, it feels like 2K playing, everything goes literally according to plan and they always have fun and looking like pure entertainment. They are at that Globetrotters vs Generals level of playing.

There's been no Lakers era, to begin with for several seasons already. Prior to the arrival of LeBron, the Lakers are already always out of the playoffs discussion and it was just when Lebron came that they experienced again being in a playoff. Maybe after LeBron hits that biggest milestone of becoming the Top 1 NBA All-Time Points Leader, he might just play relaxed now as nothing to prove now on his career while still making more money.

Although surely, he really does want to be in the Finals again but that would be tough.

There's a lot of talk about trades again suddenly.  The Lakers have stated they're trying to get Bradley Beal, the pundits have said they need to trade for Kevin Durant (typical), but it seems like something real may actually be in the works.  It's been reported that the Lakers are again trying to contact teams to see if there's anything they can do to get themselves a role player.  Meanwhile the news today has you thinking that the Lakers and Suns are going to make a trade to get Ayton to LA in exchange for LeBron coming to Phoenix.  This seems like an insane trade on the initial look, but Ayton has years left on his contract and LeBron could be eyeing the exits this summer...  Plus LeBron has always wanted to play with Chris Paul...

As long as Joel Embiid is healthy and plays like that, I'll see Philadelphia as a serious contender. He is doing incredible work and elevating his team. A few games later, Sixers will be back in the play-off spot. I haven't seen a team that stands out so much this season. Boston and Milwaukee are in similar level as Philly. In the Western Conference there is no team that stands out much. It looks a little more balanced there. I was expecting a fall in Golden State but what happened to Lakers? They fell off worse than I expected. LeBron should go to a better team to chase another championship.

Right, Joel Embiid already bring them to the playoff many years ago, it's just that they always fall out, not saying that they choke, but something is lacking not on Joel but on this team mate. Last year it was a good season again for him, if not for the early injuries that cause him to sit, he could be the MVP last year. So it will be a tough  challenge for him and the Sixers, the Bucks and the Heat and the Celtics will be there waiting for Joel. So I'm expecting a tough playoff in the East from those teams.

Even if how good performance bring by Embiid is and how high the numbers he can provide he can still get burn out so he really needs big help to his team so that even if he is having a bad day they can cope up especially on another level. Sixers is good team already and they just need to became more consistent team and they shouldn't let Embiid or even harden to get over work to make all things done for them so that there energy can last up on their important games. This playoffs series will be a tough one since there are to many upgraded team we cannot say which of team are under dog and which of them are more stronger so let see what it goes and which team will advance this season.

Joel Embiid is always healthy and if you check the previous seasons, he is always at the Season MVP ladder.

But unfortunately, the Philadelphia 76ers always end up failing in the playoffs. There's no problem with Embiid's consistency and health but he really needs a boost coming from his teammates. That is what he lacks every season on this team.

He is the only one living with the "trust the process" system on this team and the rest, inconsistent even the head coach lol.

No Zion today, while the Grizzlies got Jared Jackson back. The Pelicans will need to work harder on the offensive end.
They are in the lead now in 2nd quarter, a good start. Murphy III will be one of their keys to snatching this game against the Grizzlies.
Edit: The lead was gone in a blink.  Grin

It's true, he is not really the offensive type of guy but his defense is high-level. He recorded 6 steals twice this season.
Miami Heat is 9th in the defensive rankings. 7th in the East. Butler just locked down Booker for almost the whole 4th quarter and that's one big reason for their win. Without CP3, Booker would always receive the ball for their offense and Coach Spo did well at using Butler to guard him.

I have missed the bets for today's game and have been busy yesterday, but this is the result of my picks on yesterday's games

Orlando Magic VS Charlotte Hornets SCORE 105 - 112 - LOST

Houston Rockets VS Los Angeles Clippers SCORE 106 - 122 - WIN

Milwaukee Bucks VS Atlanta Hawks SCORE 106 - 121 - LOST

Golden State Warriors VS San Antonio Spurs SCORE 132 - 95 - WIN

The Lakers have pretty weak potential this season. So if they don't change anything, even the play-in tournament will be an unattainable goal for them again. Nevertheless, I don't think this is another frustrating season for LeBron. Let me remind you that LeBron has only 1076 points left to break Kareem's record, which means that this season will be special for LeBron anyway, no matter how the Lakers perform.

Lebron James wouldn't want to miss a game for him to break that record, but he missed the Jazz game on November 5, and he misses another Jazz game on November 8, he missed the Sacramento Kings game on Nov 12, and misses the Brooklyn Nets game that was on Nov 14, well Lebron James right now is really prone to injuries, so it is very understandable but in getting that record for him he needs to keep on averaging 40 to 50 points per game if he keeps on missing an interval of games,
