Damian Lillard has spent the 2023 offseason fighting to get to a specific team: the Miami Heat. Rumors have gone so far as to suggest that Lillard would not report to any team besides the Heat or his current Portland Trail Blazers. But Lillard had not directly addressed the possibility of playing for other teams... until Tuesday. On an appearance on It Is What It Is with Cam'ron and Ma$e, he spoke about another long-rumored suitor for his services: his hometown Golden State Warriors.

Unfortunately for the Warriors, Lillard is not interested. "I respect what they've been doing over the last eight, nine years or whatever, and I'm from there, obviously. That's home. But I can't go be a part of that," Lillard said at roughly the 53-minute mark. "They won four championships. What I look like going to try to do that?"

He doesn't really want to play with other teams; it looks like his team has no choice but to trade him to a team that he'd like to play with. Not even the Warriors, when the team is a championship contender, probably don't want to play alongside Curry as they have similar positions on the court, and both are superstars. Will Lillard win this battle?

How in the world didn't recognize the championship won by Kevin Durant while in GSW as praiseworthy just because he got there while the Splash Brothers are still there, aren't they struggling to win more championships before KD got there? and when KD joined the team, they were back at winning the championship again until he got injured and they lost to the Raptors. now they making it as if it's not enough just because he joins an already strong team. Nevertheless, he helped the GSW win some more championships and he truly deserved to be recognized as a true champion as well. Dame is just going too far with this considering he hasn't been proving himself to bring the Portland Blazers to NBA finals.

Dame  who is at bad team right now wants to go to a 44:38 team that isn't stacked at all, especially after a trade since they have to give up assets. KD went from a stacked conference finals team to a 73:9 even more stacked team. And these 2 situations are the same?

Dame definitely is not the same as KD, one of them wants to join Heat, which did made the finals but then lost and had a mediocre record at best. The other joined the 73-9 win Warriors to get the title, against a Lebron that carried a team which didn't even have a decent player aside from him and tanked right after he left as well. I feel like KD is the better player too, but what Dame is trying to do is understandable.

Plus, OKC did build a decent enough team that OKC almost won against Warriors that year, nobody talks about it but before Warriors lost from 3-1, OKC lost from 3-1 to warriors, one more win and Durant would be at the finals beating a 73-9 team as well, whereas Portland has never built a good team around Dame.

I don’t know. Draymond will be too old for sure, but I see a scenario where Draymond leaves and is replaced with Giannis. I think Steph and Klay can play their roles for a few more years.

I guess there are also super teams in the 80's-90's era, but the word hasn't invented it yet. We've seen like Magic, Kareem and other legends in the Lakers Bob McAdoo. Same with Boston's big 3 of Bird, McHale, DJ and Robert Parish.

But it was just magnify if my opinion in the last 10 years or so, just to be fair, with teams that form or join super teams like in the case of KD.

I do agree though, the animosity or the players in the 80's-90's are for real, they hated each other, hence it is more physical that time.

If planning for more potential ring it's possible to see more stars to switched teams to achieve that goal, aside from big amount of money
that they already have, winning a title will be part of their legacy, especially if they will win it not once but more.

So yes, not just Dame and Harden. Maybe we will see more and more super stars to demand for a trade to win a title or to form
a super team that can be more competitive compared with their previous team.

Doing what KD did is totally fine on these days. It's all about the limited time that they're going to stay as NBA professionals and whoever doesn't have the goal as many rings as they can are just heating the seats on the bench. Contract stalls. Hmmm. This is what makes players think about being traded if the team they are registered with is not offering an extension. Business as usual. Buddy Hield will not have any trouble in this trade rumor if ever the Pacers will let him go. A sharp shooter will definitely have room for other teams and they will be willing to sacrifice some of their good players for one like him.

Julius Randle also entered the speculation of being traded because of his sudden switch of Agency. From CAA (Creative Artists Agency) to WME (William Morris Endeavors). This made Knicks fans a little rattled because of the news since CAA had been connected with the Knicks.
Now rumors are coming out that the Lakers are also interested in taking Randle in their roster but this will be an expensive move if they also want Buddy Hield. They may need to let go of some of their good players or pay the luxury tax.

Dude wants competition, and not an easy title. I know that he's chasing titles at his age already, but he still wants a competition.

He knows that if he will join the Warriors, there's no competition on the league already. It already happened when KD like you said joined the team. One thing more that I think the reason he said that is because he will not be the main guy on that team still, and Dame wants to be the main focal point of the team when it comes to offense. His playing time there will lessen, his production will be at it's all-time low of his whole career, and his performance there will be affected. The once Dame that we are seeing in the Blazers might not be the same when he goes there. Obviously, he don't want that to happen that's why he said it which is a good thing I guess. 3 teams that I saw that will fit him. Heat, Lakers, Grizzlies.

These 3 teams clinched the playoffs last season, but they're the teams who have the worst three-point shooting last season. Adding a player like Hield would boost their offense especially their three-point percentage significantly. Just imagine having a player whose 2nd in most made threes last season. Well, I'd be happy if he will join the Lakers because they badly needed a three-point shooter, but wherever he lands on, I just hope that he will be fit on that team.

Well, the Lakers have enough  pieces to make this trade possible. I once thought the Lakers will most likely acquire Buddy in 2022, because the speculations were strong during that time, but it did not happen. He could've been a great addition to the team especially in the playoffs were a lot of occasions the Lakers have been missing a lot of three pointers. However, the Lakers current roster is quite decent for another playoff run, so they might get less interested with Buddy, let's what moves they make this time.

The Lob Party is coming soon for the Warriors, and I've always wanted to see Dwight play with Curry, and finally, it's happening. I'm not expecting too much from Dwight, though, but his energy on the floor is just remarkable. He can get under the skin of superstars who play the same position as he does, especially Jokic, of course, so he should be a vital piece for the team. CP3 should be happy to help Howard utilize his skills more.

Yeah, they already use that kind of experiment where they are rotating players. for now, it will be too early to say whether Howard will be
fit or not, the good thing is they can use him for defensive purposes.

Not that kind of minutes as they still have Looney, a good role player that is already familiar with how they run the system.

Giving Howard some minutes while resting Looney or experimenting with new tactics which includes CP3 and Howard these
two have connections as they played before during the redeem team if my memory serve me right.

An addition to that, Dwight was able to have close contact calls with the higher executives including their coach, Steve Kerr. So yes, this is the early signs that we're going to see Dwight coming back in action in the NBA. He may not be in his prime but sure he's got the love and passion for the sport and also he's got still a lot of fans. So the Warriors isn't just going to get him as him alone but also the crowd and fans that he's got in the entire world as he's got more when he played in Taiwan. Maybe it's just a matter of time until there's the official announcement of the Warriors for their welcoming to him.
