I mean it's at the Blazers expense but letting players dictate what they want and when they want it after signing a deal is a bad precedence.  This only encourages other stars to behave like this when you don't get what you want.  If I was the Blazers I'd play this game of chicken.  The flip side is they can flip Dame into a bunch of young pieces to go with Simmons, Sharpe and scoot and build for the future. 

This is what they've got letting those star players do what they want when they are popular and become stars in the team, it's become a norm now because they are afraid to lose the money they paid when they don't agree with their star players as long as it makes sense what they are doing. but the problem is, that they are being taken advantage of due to the fact that they can't really do anything about those players. there should be a lifetime ban concerning these types of acts in order for players not to cause the same problems again.

In this situation, the management is at a disadvantage because if they oblige Lillard to play and he does play, they will have to pay him his salary. However, the question remains: will Lillard still perform at the same level as he did before he demanded to be traded?

In the first place, who's the one to blame at the start? It's not new that Lillard always hoped that the team would try to improve every next season and he's vocal about that every time especially when the Blazers are being eliminated in the playoffs. The Blazers failed to surround Lillard a good role player and in fact, they aren't even making some effort to land a big fish either on trade or in the free agency.

It's the Trail Blazers management that should be blamed here in the first place. Damian got old without even having a good team. When I say team, someone he could trust if he cannot score the ball. CJ McCollum was there, but who's next? It became easier for other teams to defend the Trail Blazers and there's just one defensive play, stop Damian Lillard. Now that he is asking for a trade, I think they should make something happen because that guy will not play like he has a goal anymore if he is just being forced to play for them.

If not, then the Trail Blazers will risk losing fans, viewership, and revenue. That's the bigger picture I see if they continue to force Lillard to play.

Generally, the home crowd is not just watching the home team literally why they paid for their tickets. If the home team is up against a top team with popular NBA players on board, expect that these people will pay for a ticket. However, expect that most games of the home team will have noticeably less audience if their record is at worst.

Maybe he will still change his mind if they recruit one more good player to back him up. But the big question is who? I don't think there's anyone available out there anymore. It's too late. He is having the best time of his career on Taiwan since he dominates the game there. I think is he the only popular NBA player playing in Taiwanand the rest is on China and other lower asia league.

For sure he is enjoying his stint in Taiwan, he even won the MVP during the All-Star game there, with a huge 37 points, 13 rebounds, and dished out 8 assists. But I guess the ultimate goal of Howard is to return to NBA.

And he really did to play, as he had problems with his Taiwan team as they are offering like a pay-cut for him. So most likely he will not be going to play for next season. Unless he opted to go to Europe League to test his skills there.

Basically, it was him and McGee who was giving Jokic a hard time defensively. So, there's a little honesty there, but undeniably he's been way out of his prime already during that time.
I guess one of the reason why he's struggling to get a contract from any NBA teams is because of his silly attitude and low basketball IQ. Look at how he played in Taiwan, he has been dominating in every category from the stat sheets, but his team finished last and missed the playoffs. That's because he was not playing the way he should to compliment the role of his teammates. Crazy, how he has been shooting a lot of 3s in Taiwan. He clearly doesn't want his team to win, but he only he cares about his stats and playing basketball purely for fun lol.

I think you are right I'm not sure if there is any other big time players playing over there right now.  Honestly I haven't even been watching, what was his stats while he was over there?  I can't see him not dominating the paint in that league.  I don't have hate against the guy it's just he is a 37 year old big man who bangs down low.  His carrier is pretty much done at this point.

And with the case of Howard, he had a good time in Taiwan, numbers are good and yet his team failed. Perhaps the Warriors really didn't see him adding any value on a already experience team and he could be detrimental if he still had that attitude from time to time.

Those are good numbers if it's in the NBA, but the fact that he is the import, he has the freedom to do what he wants, and his minutes are high. Maybe if those stats were achieved in a European league, that would be more impressive, but in Asia, not so much, I think. Nevertheless, it still tells us that Howard is not done yet. He may be out of his prime, but he can still be a valuable asset for a team. So, I really want to see him back in the NBA, even if it's not with the Warriors.

Nuggets seems to be consistent for many years now with Jokic and I think that this time, they're being prepared by most teams so let's see if they'll have hard time or it will be like another easy finals to them.

He's still a good addition like a reserve player and when he's needed, he's always there. We still can't move on with the possibility of Howard going with the GSW.

Perhaps it was his liability, he can't play defense, so although he can still play and give some points, teams didn't sign him for that reason, I reckon.

And yes, we are almost at the start of a new season, so for sure some of us could be very excited about it. As we can see our favorite teams and players and so we will begin to bet again.

Problem with old vets in the league is that you lock up money and a roster spot on someone who has a known ceiling in their game and likely going to get hurt somewhere during the year.  End of the bench guys and minimum wage guys ypu are looking for spark and energy off the bench.  I'm a Melo guy too I loved him in NY, in his prime his defense was suspect at the end of his career it was non existent.  If ypu can't play d you can't be on the court.

Kidding aside, it's always good to see the NBA being back again. For sure fans are happy, bettors are happy, GM's are happy, and of course the players are happy as well because they're back into business again as usual. Nothing intriguing, and nothing surprising with these games TBH since it has been announced. You know what I'm feeling right now? I'm happy.

Happy not because of the Lakers-Nuggets match-up, but the Suns-Warriors match-up. TBH, I don't see any beef behind KD, and the rest of the Warriors unlike his beef with Russ when he went to the Warriors. I think everything is good between them since we didn't hear any trash talks whatsoever between the 2.

It's not KD, but it's Book, and Klay that has a beef with each other. Well, I will not be surprised if Klay will do that 1-2-3-4 count again on his finger saying that he got 4 titles while Book has none. Bragging rights, eh. It's a preseason opening, not as exciting as the regular season opening, but at least you can already feel that the NBA will be back soon. It's the time when we should start saving for our bankroll for the long season, and hopefully, we will end up profitable if we didn't during the last season. As a gambler, it's a test for us; having a decent bankroll will test how patient and disciplined you are in managing your money.

There have been many examples of players being unclaimed or underperforming in the NBA, but they have shown great results in other leagues. Same with Howard, his stats in that Asian league really look good, but the reality is that those stats should be divided 3-4 times to get a rough idea of how he could perform in the NBA now. So it's no surprise that Howard's stats don't impress NBA teams.
