I had Pistons to win last night on my betting ticket alongside 76ers ( who ruined my entire bet ) , Mavs and Wolves and I swear whenever I pick 76ers to win , they lose and vice versa...so I think it's safer for me to simply forget 76ers are in NBA  . Overall , I should be happy for Bulls but I'm more happy for Pistons to finally get that win because no one wants to suffer to many defeats in a row ...especially for the mental health.

Yeah, the Chicago Bulls are slightly better with Zach Lavine sidelined, I'm not saying this makes Lavine a terrible player, but maybe that's not just the team he's meant to be in, while there is a very huge speculation of where he would end up, with a high chance of him getting traded, Raptors were one of those team, now I don't think Raptors is a possible destination after just trading for RJ Barrett and Immanuel Quickley, the other in question was said to be Miami Heat, while the Heat look to have gotten some significant piece from draft picks and a couple of veterans, addition of Zach Lavine wouldn't be a downgrade, neither will it disrupt whatever chemistry they're trying to build now.

It's in the culture, whoever gets added to the team will play within the culture, meaning he has to earn his minutes, without good production and chemistry to the team, Lavine might not gain significant minutes. However, given his talent, and as long as he cooperates and does not seek for special treatment, and I think he can a good duo with Butler as Lavine also good in attacking the paint while maintaining his good 3 point shooting.

Let's wait until the trade deadline though, and see what will happen.

I know Detroit Pistons are not the best team but their roster is not so bad to have this results, they have between them Bogdanovic a proved player, and they have a number 1 pick in the draft(Cunningham), you cant lose 20+ games in a row with that i think we see worst roster in other teams..

SGA also has defense compared to other players. Embiid and Jokic are not known for their defense, and that means SGA is better than them at one half of the game, the fact that they are ranked higher is mainly because NBA cares about offense more than they care about defense, not just fans but also the whole entire organization tries to minimize defense as much as possible by calling almost everything a foul, so that is why we are seeing SGA not getting the attention he deserves.

How many players in that list could be considered a great scorer with 30+ ppg and then still be in race for being a great defender at the same time? Giannis could be the only one, he defends well, but he is not a great perimeter defender, he is great at inside, and most teams play outside these days.

I'm not a Philly supporter but embid has made all defensive team 3 times in his career and his defensive ratings are great.  And jokic is just on another level than most other players.  Dude almost averages a triple double.  He is one of the best passers in the league and makes players on his team better.  He is almost unstoppable when he digs in.  Sga is phenomenal but not in the ranks of those 2 yet.

The Jokic part is an easy to defend part, he is great at offense, but what I was talking about is that OKC is running their offense through SGA as well and he also adds defense to his game as well, whereas Jokic might be much better offensively, yes nearly triple double, great work, but he has absolutely no defensive skills at all, that was my point.

I am not saying you need to be amazing on defense to win MVP, I am just saying SGA has a better defense than Jokic. On the other topic, Embiid may have been great at defense so far in his career, and to be fair he isn't bad now neither, but I would say that SGA is better THIS season, that doesn't mean to say that SGA was better all the time, or in general, I just wanted to say this season that is all.

If you have ever followed the run of OKC, they're consistent. As you can see on the standings, they're currently ranked two on the West while Nuggets is 3rd.

They've got their key players and not just that they're key players but they're as well as the contributors of the team. SGA is getting the spotlight now and no contest that he's good.

Yeah of course, I know their ranking, but Nuggets are Nuggets, I mean they are the defending champion and they lose that big, and worst is it's on their home court where they are very dominant. I'm impresed with OKC, I think I should respect them and won't be betting against team, even at home or on the road. SGA the man, he should be the MVP of the month?

That's your choice to respect them and it can be applied with any other team but if that type of respect is not to bet against them, that sounds cool.

This version of OKC is like a rebrand and re-roster since this is the first time or season that they've been with Chet as well so, it's a strong contender again.

On the other hand with Pistons, how long is the contract of Cunningham on them since he's their pick on the draft? 2 - 3 years?

He will stay for a while with the team as he is only RFA in 2025, so there's still 2 years (more or less).

I see, a rebuild is going to happen here for sure. Although they are not doing well this season and recently, they've won against the Raptors. That's like a champ feeling already on them, LOL.

Getting the number 1 pick does not guarantee a win though, this is a team game, so if there's no chemistry on the team, the team will struggle, no matter how good their lead player is.

At least though they have broken that spell and for sure the city is very happy about it, tying the longest streak in the NBA is one of those bad records that you don't want your city to be in. So now it's up to the team to build this momentum and at give more wins this 2024.

Cade doesn't want to disappoint again and so he score 30 points. But it was a tough game though, Toronto made a comeback, but then Cunningham and Jaden Ivey made back to back 3's and that was enough to get their win after 28 games.

^ I agree, I think with that huge contract, Jaylen Brown will have to show something that he deserved it, and truly he is doing it this season posting great numbers, he average 20 ppg and Tatum 26 ppg, good for the top 25 scorer leader.

$304 million for 5 years, who would not play hard for that kind of reward?
Celtics has to get their investment on him, and it will only happen if Jaylen will continue to play his usual and stay healthy this season and off season, as if he gets injured, I doubt the Celtics will advance in the Finals. But since they have lots of roles players who are willing to contribute day in day out, the burden maybe not that hard compared to the previous season.

So that is huge when 2 of your best players are at least average 20 ppg.

Tatum averages 27PPG from 30PPG last season, while Brown averages 22PPG from 26PPG last season, numbers dropped because others helped them.
Not good on individual numbers, but as a team, it's a success.

Holiday, a great point guard and defender, who would forget his steal on Booker when he was with the Bucks to win it for the Milwaukee team. And KP, doing great as well all around with points and rebounds and block shots. And then their role player providing spark every game.

He can guard Booker but not Jimmy. I hope the Celtics are ready for the underrated Heat this season too.

It could be a drop in average for this two, but they have other player now that is contributing, so I will take that for individual accolades of this two players. They are now in the top and it could continue for the rest of the regular season.

So as you have said, it's team success that's more important.

Jimmy though is big that's why perhaps they lost last year, and then Giannis getting injured that playoff games was the key for them to lose that series. As they can't get it done without him. But didn't team now, let's see if the Heat can even get into the playoffs.

They were in a back to back game, and had came from a disappointing loss, I thought they were tired.

Yes, they are in decline, but they are still at .500, with only 2 losing streak.
This team are gonna bounce back soon, just relax and trust the process, they are healthy now, there's no reason they will not make it to the playoffs, or at least in the play-in tournament.

Regardless how hard LeBron will play, if the entire team does not have that same level of competition, the outcome will still be the same. Individual stats
like that is only good for the player itself but for the team, it is useless.

Yes, Boston is really playing well this season with how they share the ball and how dominant they are in terms of attacking the basket. That's

much higher percentage of shots and a chance to make a 3-point play, they are not taking many 3's though they are also capable in hitting big shots.

And as far as I can understand, he has smaller stake but he still has control over the Basketball of the Mavs, so trades and everything will still have his approval. So I don't think that there will be an impact on the players.

That's what I also read, although he is not the major stake holder, but since he is still in control of the team, nothing to worry about possible changes. Thus far, Mavericks is a successful team, although they had not won a championship yet but having Luka who is a sensational player, he's certainly a crowd magnet, and that's just what they need to continue operating profitably.

The sad part about it is too many basketball fans are expecting a lot with Cunningham. But it doesn't work out like that. He needs to be surrounded by good players too if they want the Detroit Pistons to be a successful franchise. I bet another long losing streak will happen because they are not synchronized. They cannot just put everything to Cunningham, that's exhausting and might jeopardize his health.
In their win against the Raptors, Cade made 12 assists which I think is the key for them to win games. That's his role and he should start acting it. A playmaker, a leader, and can also be an offensive weapon.

They badly need a center. No Adams and Clarke and they will not be back for a long time. There's a chance the Grizzlies might not make it to the playoffs anymore and expect them to lose more of their games. Clarke will be back in February if I am not mistaken and that's after the All-Star break so the chance for a playoffs may be gone for this team unless Ja Morant goes super saiyan.

^^ Adams is their true center, but Jaren have been playing that position this second, but I haven't check this performance. Anyway, Ja is back and hopefully if Clark can also be there after the all star break, Memphis can still salvage this season and hopefully be in the playoffs.

Good to see that the Pistons losing streak is over, but they are still the underdog in their next game against the Rockets and so they might start a new losing streak  .

And speaking of parlays, it might be good to throw some in tomorrow's game, good be some lopsided games.
