Lakers are saying the NBA rescinded the Mark Williams trade! Oh man… That would have been quite a steal for the Lakers, instead it’s a tough break.

And then AD playing with the Mavs, he was doing great then suddenly another tough break for them as he looks like he got injured. And this is what we don't like to see on Davis although it looks like it' not that serious though, maybe he just reinjured an old abdominal muscle.

So Mark Williams failed the physical test with the Lakers, not surprised though as he has been injured before. Not sure though what will happen to the Lakers players that they send to the Hornets. But I think since the trade is voided, Dalton Knecht, Cam Reddish will be back to the Lakers as well for the meantime.

Yeah, Lakers get both Dalton Knecht and Reddish back, I believe the Lakers failing Mark Williams was a way to say they know the value of what they’re sending the other way and since Mark Williams was just going to be another bother then why go ahead with it. I wonder if the trade wasn’t just rather to late into the deadline maybe Lakers could have traded for veteran bigs like Valanciuanas or Nurkic that were surplus to requirements in their respective teams.

Homestly i dont even think it was that big a steal.  Dude never plays.  Its like mitchell robinson on the knicks, when he plays he is awesome and a firce on defense/lobs but its actually getting them on the court.  I guess lakers have to scour the buyout market for center help.  They gutted their paint defense which usually doesnt play oit well in the playoffs.

Lakers must be upset that the Mark Williams trade didn't go through, after all they were not only expecting to see him at Center, but also they believed it would be good to add another free agent as well. So it wasn't just about the Mark Williams himself, which would have ben a great addition of course, but it would have been about adding another vet minimum player, there were talks about Lonnie Walker for example. In any case, we just have to realize that Lakers will have to do with who they have right now.

I think they are upset that that Hornets didn't declare everything to them, and so with they physically evaluate Mark Wiliams, they have found out about his injuries that's why the called the trade off. Yes, everyone was praising that Rob did a good job getting him to the Lakers. Perhaps if they did have all the data before the deadline, they could have pursue other mid level centers are well.

Plus, Luka is very young, so if Lebron who just recently had an insane dunk at 40 years old while also scoring 40+ points, could wait for one more season, I am sure even if they fail this year, they could build a good team around these two next season and make them a lot better. They just have to wait, and I am sure good things will come.

Let's see if this is the passing of the torch, and Luka carrying the franchise. We will need to see how the two are going to blend in and if the marriage is successful, then maybe Luka will stay with the Lakers as he is still very young. Hopefully the mentality of Lebron about getting healthy will trickle down to Luka and maybe we will see him getting slim to his fighting weight of around 220 lbs as there are reports that he balloon to almost 270 lbs.

But when this trade fails they don't have enough spot to get some player from buyout market. I think they need to waived one player to open a spot so that they could get a player. Many say that they could sign Howard back to their team since he provably could contribute defensively for their team.

But we don't know if Lakers would do that or they will just settle up on their current roster then just used their current centers available to explore things on their rotation. Many Lakers fans are so hype with those information that they would get Williams on this trade, but those expectation cut off when the trade didn't happen due to some issues happened.

It's a steal for them because they needed a big man and it seems that Williams is a perfect fight for them. Although they had Hayes as their center, it seems that Jaxson lacks the experience, although I see him as a work in progress if he will be given enough time to blossom as their main center.

I heard before that they are pursuing Vucevic but obviously they stop when they think that they have lock-in for Williams. Unfortunately, it didn't go as plan by the Lakers so they will have to make the adjustment again and stay with Hayes for now.

I've read recent posts from these basketball pages and they're romanticizing the injury that AD has got. And that's why many of us probably thought that it was a serious one but they lack of specifications of how it went. Whilst for the Dallas Mavericks, I'm starting to read those statements coming from GM and owner of it that they're really getting rid of Luka for several factors that they don't like about him. But the whole point of it is that they don't want to pay him the super max contract when he's eligible for that.

Well, the stigma around him being injured isn't removed completely despite the fact that he played more than 70+ games last season, eh?

Just for context, he already played 43 games this season out of 53, and this injury might've happened again, but I don't think that he didn't improve when it comes to his health. I respect the opinion, and many might see him still as a glass cannon, but I don't think he is still now. Injuries do happen all the time, but in AD's case, it's happening lesser than that of this season and last season compared to a few years ago where he isn't even playing for most of the regular season.

Like you said though, he's still a threat inside the paint and now that he's playing on his favorite position (Power Forward), I expect more production from him or at least he will contribute even more to the team. Looking at the roster of the Mavericks right now, they're better now in terms of defense. They've lost Luka, which is their best playmaker, but it's good that other guards are stepping up and making plays for the team.

There is no chance on earth the Lebron does not rub of on Luca is some way shape or form and the most likely outcome, at least in my opinion is that it will happen much sooner than later.  Lebron probably has 2-3 years left at most but that's enough time for him to work with Luca, train with him and teach him what it's all about to be a professional basketball player who wins championship games.  So I'm excited to see it play out.

Lebron did have other teammates before who played with him for years, and never really had Lebron type of discipline to fix their body. How many players that played with Lebron reached age 40 and still played? Many players ended up retiring earlier. Look at players like Wade, Bosh, Love, they all retired already and that is why I am not entirely sure if Luka Doncic would be an outlier and end up having a longevity of Lebron.

While I agree fully that Lebron takes care of his body like no other, and spends millions of dollars every single year to keep his body in shape like this, we also need to remember that he is a freak of nature as well. His body is unlike anyone else, even before all of this, even when he was in high school, this dude was freak of nature from day one.

So while he is definitely keeping his body in check and constantly takes care of it, I am sure that Doncic will do maybe a bit better, but not as good as Lebron, we won't see Luka get back in shape THAT much, maybe a little but that's it.

He has been used to this kind of phase and physically (if there is one for him), him and Jokic style are very similar but they are very difficult to guard. Slow but deliberate and nonchalant. So not sure what kind of influence Lebron could give to Luka.
