The story of the night for me happened on X though, when Ja Morant said that he wanted to participate in the dunk contest next year and Giannis replied that he would join him.

I was hoping and expecting the same, but unfornately, it didn't happenk, just like Buddy Hield that we see in a regular game where one game he'll shoot lights out and the next game he'll be struggling. I guess Hield just lacked consistency here, but he really has the stroke, which makes me think he could have won the competition if he had more consistency, maybe next year again, if he is able to maintain his good three-point shooting percentage.

I just don't understand why Curry wasn't there. You can really tell the difference between Curry and the other shooters, man he was just exceptional.

Actually, before the event, did you see that shot where Curry shot it from behind? It was like he and Durant were challenging each other, but Curry just nailed it.

For the slam dunk, it was obvious that they want McClung back to bring the hype on the slam dunk once more. Remember that when he won the last time, it was one of the most watch dunk contest for sometime. And so they have to bring him back and perform those spectacular dunk. Matas Buzelis and Jackson Jr. were not very impressive, they couldn't do anything until the time was up. If they had been successful on the first try, maybe we could have watched some nice slam dunks.
Stephon Castle was quite good, he presented a nice image aesthetically. However, when his opponent was the best name of recent years, he didn't have much of a chance.

Mac McClung was very good again. When short and white basketball players are athletic like this, they look great, his slam dunk was not very creative, but he did a really good job in terms of execution. He made a three-peat, what more could you ask for

Well, sometimes it does feel kind of boring but it depends on the viewer. As a fan of one team, you get so energetic when it's your team that is playing especially if they just got new players from the trade that might give them more chances to win the game.
I think Green is just looking for more competitiveness because that's what is lacking in the NBA right now. It's like they don't really want the championship and most of them just want the higher salary they will receive on their contracts.
Perhaps, the NBA should also look at that first. Too much money for the stars and the others don't so the bench energy is just for cheering their teammates, not for playing.

What? This dunk contest was TERRIBLE in my opinion. So many missed dunks, this was not a competition.
McClung delivered with great skill and some creativity. Castle had 1 good dunk, the rest was meh or seen before. The other 2 guys, no words about them, they totally missed the spot.
Too bad the contest still lost its shine. The only bright spot is the 3 time champion, but without some real competition that actually also tries to but up some powerful and creative dunks this event will forever have its peak in the past.

Buddy Hield was great in the first round but started the final very poorly. Still, he almost won with the last money ball rack, he missed only one there. Tyler Herro deserved to win, but overall the scores were low. Usually, the winner would score over 25 last couple of years.

Indeed if he make just two from that early rack then he can grab that win, a great start but at the end of the game the final outcome will be for the one that performs well, not agaisnt Herro as he's also a known shooter but for Hield after that first round performance most fans expect that he will continue that hot hands but unfortunately he didn't start well on the 2nd round then Herro complete the snatch winning the contest,.

So yeah, it shows how his game with the Warriors is, very inconsistent, and even Steph was seen being disappointed when he missed that one important shot in the final rack because the crowd knows that he needs to make them. So can also see Hero's reaction, having known that he won the three point contest in a very close fight.

And there's no one that can came close to what McClung again did to the slam dunk contest.

But I guess that's what he will be known though, just a dunker but never a great basketball player. But still, he is a entertainer and that's what the All Star needs as it is losing it's viewership specially on what Wemby and Chris Paul was trying to do in the Skills challenge.

Draymond had a lot to say about the all star break this year. His comments that the rising stars didn’t deserve to play on Sunday seemed pretty salty. I think he’s just mad that he can’t be a part of the event and is taking it out on people he thinks he is better than. He’s going to have a rough end to his career….

The three-point shooting was really unpredictable. In the first round, Herro almost got eliminated, and in the final round, he nearly lost because it was such a close battle. Maybe it's just his luck,  it's also good that he went first, so there was less pressure on him. And as for the betting odds, IIRC he was at x8, so those who trusted him to win scored big.

I don't think he's retirement will be so big just like other stars made that's why he maybe create some noises so that he's name will always be in discussions and people would remember him.

He's not a good commentator if he plans to do that with other big names if he always talk shit since for sure people will not listen to what he say if he's there spreading hate to those people.

But maybe best for people to forget about him and just enjoy the season since its more entertaining to watch the current happening on All Star break.

CP3 and Wemby were exploiting a loophole in the rules, disqualifying them was ridiculous. If you're thinking about the game, you should have set the rules properly from the start.

That just shows that the All-skills challenge is just a mess, a waste of time, and if the NBA wants it to retain for next season, they need to make some adjustments to it.

CP3 has been known to make some things that aren't usually seen by many people just like this one. It's just ridiculous that they got disqualified from it indeed just because Paul saw a loophole on their game, but I think that's the best decision NBA can do since they maximized that "loophole" in order to win. Whatever the case is, expect some adjustments for next all-skills challenge.

In the dunk contest, Buzelis and Jackson Jr. were like figurants. Wish better players had participated. The battle between Castle and McClung was exciting. Castle might have won in an ordinary tournament, but against McClung no one really stood a chance. He made four incredible dunks and won for the third time. Maybe Ja Morant will join next year instead of just tweeting.

The problem with Dunk contest is that the amount of money you will get if you win isn't attractive for the all-star players like Morant that's why they aren't joining on it. Morant said it years ago that if they increase the prize, they might be thinking of joining. As for the whole contest, McClung deserves the prize again because he did spectacular dunks.

Because of this win, many are already thinking of him as the "greatest dunker of all time" already, but I don't think that's the case. It's just that his opponents aren't that good in dunking as well and many will agree with me. Still, if Morant really will join next year, then that could be a sign that other all-star players might join it as well. I hope that the NBA will increase the price as well to make it attractive towards other players.

^^ It’s good that it happened you know and that did it so that it won’t be repeated in future allstar skill challenges. But if you ask me, if there was nothing in the rules that said they should be disqualified for what they did, then they shouldn’t be disqualified IMO. They just came up with a technique to complete the skill faster. lol Also, what Wemby and CP3 did is just boring and wasnt indicated in the rules. lol

They might be lucky but they have some star in the making in the form of Max. They've probably won the trade with that and everyone just have to move on with Luka being out of the team. As of the moment, the team is currently at the top 8 rankings based on the standings that they have and I think that's just fine. Looking at their previous matches, it seems that they're able to make it close to the lead of the teams that have won against them. They're consistent.

He's provably a steal from that trade happen and I don't believe he can show same performance if he is on Lakers since that team is fully stacked before and he will just get less minutes. So lets see what's coming around with him if he can sustain he's performance or even build nice career on his current team. Hopefully Mavs will develop that young man to became lethal player in future.

He does have a lot of bench time in the Lakers and that's why it's a steal for the Dallas Mavericks. With just few games from the team, he's shown already how effective he is for them. Waiting for the greater performances that he'll be with the Mavs and he's given a lot of playing time so this is good for him and it's now his time to shine.

This current Mavs line up is showing good potential and let see if they can continue on their win streak since provably fans might forget about those sadden Luka trade they made if they can justified their actions done then successfully go to playoffs.

They really do because even with superstars aren't playing, the second squad that they have are winning games too.

I am not also excited with his retirement. Probably he is one of the champs out there that when announces retirement, will be talked for a day and then forgotten the next day.
