I agree with other people here, bitcoin is bitcoin other altcoins can just push price up, cause all trading with altcoins eventualy leads to buying btc. As i see situation some people mining altcoins cause of difficulty and later they excange that altcoins in bitcoins. For now I didnt notice that altcoin price go up when bitcoin is rising, or reverse. I dont think it is connected at all, but I`m not expert maybe I`m wrong, I follow situation just last couple weeks.

Bitcoin mining is now a specialized and very risky industry, just like gold mining. Amateur miners are unlikely to make much money, and may even lose money. Bitcoin is much more than just mining, though!

But can't you see if money spent on trading altcoins were acually used only for purchasing bitcoins it would be much, much better? Without diversification of markets one unified big bitcoin market would be now huge!

U need to explain me a bit more about what u mean. How we can purchase just bitcoins?  Do u mean trade with dollar, russian rub. euro? I`m new in this world of trading, for me price of altcoins is low and I can allow my self to try some trading with low amounts. I think that low price of altoins is one of main reason why most of us doing that.

I just wanted to get your opinions on this one , what do you think Bitcoin would be if there was no Alternative coins such Litecoin & Dogecoin and the others ...
I mean it would be better with or without them Bitcoin would have no value at all ?

No, i think altcoins are useful, because each one of them targets other groups of people, and they are all a gateway to the cryptoworld.

They all are magnets to crypto, spread accross to different groups, and they all attract new people into crypto.

Therefore bitcoin gets free PR from them, because it is the dominant one.

I do not think bitcoin would survive without altcoin due to less exposure and such massive impact from altcoins

Seems pretty boring and stupid to have all your eggs in the one basket with Bitcoin.. There's a few Alts out there that are guaranteed to blow your mind and atm don't get the attention they deserve

I think that Altcoins may have given Bitcoin a little competition, but Bitcoin is still the clear winner of all the cryptocurrencies. Bitcoin is the most used cryptocurrency by a long way.

Many people buy bitcoin to buy altcoin. Bitcoin is the major currency in the crypto world. So altcoin is competition as well as promoter of bitcoin.

I dont really think altcoin was needed in the bitcoin popularity tho. Might be a fun alternative but doubt it played a mayor role.

I agree that Litecoin was important for Bitcoin but I also think there are many more important coins that are being developed at the moment that Bitcoin can learn from!

There are some talented young coders out there and even the whole communities that are having very interesting ideas. All we need is to follow these people. After all, we are in the same crypto boat!

I think Bitcoin without altcoin would still be bitcoin because it is a well established cryptocurrency already  by now however I believed that without altcoin Bitcoin would be stagnant because there is no competition and  improvements will be very slow.

All I tried to say is that altcoins are more a distraction, they are mostly just a tool used for low speculation. DO you think that is a good thing?
Even if altcoins are cheap if you want to earn money you need to buy a lot of units. And I would rather see people buy bitcoin instead.

Altcoin for some people may be very disturbing, because with so many altcoin scam.

With the altcoin, it makes Bitcoin become a major cryptocurrency for other coins and then the presence of the exchanger as a medium of exchange cryptocurrency.

Bitcoin without altcoin, not exciting and stagnant
