If something is successful then people seek to replicate or beat it. That's how humans works

Bitcoin without alts is borderline inconceivable. They'll always be scratching around.

i don't think existence of altcoins have any kind of effect on bitcoin. the reverse effect is obvious though.

but having altcoins around is not free of benefits. they are mostly providing good investment options in order to make more bitcoin. and some of them are even good cryptos in order to invest in for the future because they might become big and exist side by side with bitcoin.

Weak hands have been complaining about missing out ever since bitcoin was $1 and never buy the dip.
Whales are those who keep buying the dip.

Bitcoins without altcoins wont be as interesting as they are right now, We wont have anything to exchange for BTC and make profit, in fact many people make good profits with altcoins trading.

I must say that's not all altcoin helps, though. Sometimes some scamming altcoin would unfortunatelly hurts people's trust on cryptocurrency or btc. Though its uncommon, there is a chance that someone is trying to gain more btc from trading altcoin for the first time and unfortunatelly s/he choose a relatively new coin which turned into scam. When everything's gone, I doubt it'll give positive feedback to the scammed user.

the only effect that altcoins have had on bitcoin is helping traders make more of it. but it is also hard to imagine crypto scene without the altcoins, they still have a large portion of the market combined which can not be neglected. also there are a couple of them with nice features that can make them competitors for bitcoin but not yet.

I just wanted to get your opinions on this one , what do you think Bitcoin would be if there was no Alternative coins such Litecoin & Dogecoin and the others ...
I mean it would be better with or without them Bitcoin would have no value at all ?

Alt coins are irrelevant to me but they're good in as much that they get newbies involved who feel they missed the boat on bitcoin. Most usually make their way over to bitcoin at some point when they realize the pointlessness and waste of time they are. People trading their alts for bitcoin also helps our economy. I think most will die off when people realize that ultimately you can't really buy anything with them.

all altcoins are important, they promote each in their own way the crypto phenomena, but they also compete with eachother.

Its true that DOGE and LTC bought many people in this, but BTC is the NR 1.

I do not find that much essentially of alt coins in bitcoin ecosystem. But, altcoin are market movers and testing grounds before bitcoin improvements. A king without servants and enemies would be boring kingdom.

I would think bitcoin and altcoin are close systems and both of them would do fine together, I don't think bitcoin would be massively affected though so I think it would go fine after that, alt-coins would need bitcoin though.

Bitcoin price doesn't have to swing between 400$ by now when we are just going to have next halving, if there was no any altcoins. Right now etherum is creating lots of distractions for bitcoin trader. Altcoin always disturb the growth of main blockchain network, bitcoin Sad

Bitcoin will be absolutely fine without altcoins in my opinion, Bitcoin is self-sustainable and a good stable system and altcoins is just an imitation for bitcoin and it's success, I think bitcoin would be absolutely fine without altcoins.

Both are important to exist with each other and one can't sustain without the other since the altcoins are the development coming from bitcoin and offering new things with it, It's awesome that bitcoin system accept new things added to a currency like the original.

For me, if there is no altcoin, I will not have any bitcoin. I mine the altcoins and sell them for bitcoin.

It would be interesting only if we have competitors, So considering bitcoin without altcoin is simply not much interesting as its now. We too won't have something to express our growth as now we compare with alts and indicate our growth.

If it is a question about who is better, the answer is very simple. Bitcoin is of course the best cryptocurrency out there. But without Altcoin, Bitcoin wouldn't be anywhere. There would be nothing to compare it to and see whether it has improved or not, this is very important for people that are thinking about investing in Bitcoin.

Bitcoin without alts is borderline inconceivable. They'll always be scratching around.

You know there are altcoins out now that are different from Bitcoin's code now and days right?  There are certain coins that serve different functions that Bitcoin can't seem to fulfill, and not just exact replicas of the code with a clever name attached to it.

Bitcoin would have value in any way, and bitcoin would be probably wrth a lot more if there weren't any copycats outhere.
However altcoins are godd because they present solutions to the bitcoin problems.

But i personally don't think bitcoin will ever accomplish the place which has been accomplished by bitcoin because it takes a lot of time for people to believe in something which they cannot feel physically and the reason i don't favor altcoin is it is a copy cat of bitcoin i believe they should come up with their own new concept if they want to be successful
