Bitcoin needs altcoins. Without traders, the community would be much smaller, maybe bitcoin wouldn't have made it till today.
For some people, the main usage of bitcoin is just to trade with other altcoins. Without altcoin, the bitcoin is less useful. |

Bitcoin needs altcoins. Without traders, the community would be much smaller, maybe bitcoin wouldn't have made it till today.
For some people, the main usage of bitcoin is just to trade with other altcoins. Without altcoin, the bitcoin is less useful. Bitcoin will really be useless without trading with other coin,if bitcoin have so many shop around the world which we can move bitcoin on the daily basis. |

People tends to buy Alt-coins with bitcoins and when the prices of alt-coin rises, they again sell them for Bitcoins. So the main Currency is Bitcoins and trading to Alt-coins is also for the purpose of increasing bitcoins. So Alt-coins is nothing without bitcoins.

bitcoin without altcoin as the dollar without yen. europe without german. bitcoin has a price for their altcoin. altcoin can affect the price of bitcoin on the market.

Yes this is true, with alts we have diversity and with diversity you don't have monopoly, which is in theory. But already we have BTC monopoly and many alts are welcomed with knives. I love alts i have many successful trades behind me which i can thanks to alts. I never agree bitcoin monopoly. Bitcoin is the forefather, so it's dominance continues. Just imagine a father always wants more children and too the success of their children. We do not forget, without bitcoin there is no chances for any alt coins. |

Bitcoin don't in fact need the altcoins, it's having it's special success and a promised potential, however altcoins still needing Bitcoin right now, because without trading it through the Bitcoin's currency value it will become worthless

Altcoins are like a competition for bitcoin. bitcoin has been the number one cryptocurrency forever and all the altcoin that has been created so far were wanting to reach that stage. also i think in time altcoins might become more than just for trading and making more money, and instead become more like bitcoin and be used more like a p2p money |

Bitcoin would have never experienced such a increased user profile if altcoins have not existed. Altcoins made bitcoin grow considering both engaged in a competition.

I never agree bitcoin monopoly. Bitcoin is the forefather, so it's dominance continues. Just imagine a father always wants more children and too the success of their children. We do not forget, without bitcoin there is no chances for any alt coins.
You can't look at bitcoin as a forefather, this is technology and will be modify and reused many times in future. Bitcoin only have much more members who trust that they have made good choice. But always you can expect new coin that can emerged overnight and create good opportunity for its investors. But will it survive few years as bitcoin ? This is question. |

Well, i agree with you. But i think it not affect so much to the price of bitcoin. I think even without altcoin bitcoin still can survive and maybe the price can increase. because bitcoin is the main coin. |

Without altcoins BTC would not affect and can continue through its lifespan... However altcoins make BTC more alive and increase the market cap with altcoin transactions...

Yes but we cannot blame altcoins. Alts are good way to join in, if you have good GPU you can join mining alts and this is same as you mining btcs, even better because you can earn more and faster. This was my case with mining DOGE coin, and NOBLE coin. |

bitcoin without altcoin, as the currency is unmatched. Imagine we could not do trading, options get more money will be difficult. like forex in the real world. then the trade will be quiet and currency will depreciate.

Bitcoin is THE Crpytocurrency. So others wont influence anything (neither positive nor negative).
Bitcoin is the pioneer digital currency and Altcoins have just come after it. So it is Altcoins cannot survive without bitcoins. Bitcoins don't need any support from Alt coins to remain in the market. In fact, most the the time Altcoins reply on the status of bitcoins to be in the competition. |

I think altcoins also give influence to bitcoin, but it's not significant, only small affect. And i think bitcoin should be fine without altcoin. |
