I think without altcoin i think bitcoin will not so high price unlike right now altcoin is a big help how they are promoting and share crypto currency anywhere that can get more investors until they are found bitcoin is the bigget investment..
Altcoin is a good alternative once bitcoin will down.. so if without them and bitcoin will gone in the future we have no alternative for bitcoin..

Altcoins are an essential part of the Crypto ecosystem. But altcoins that exist today can't have any challenge for BTC. Bitcoin is the king of Crypto.
Other than just to scam bitcoin users with ICO of scam/shit/alt coins there are not much progress in altcoin field. The devs usually run away with all the funds invested leaving project in middle and with big promises. I still remember surprise shorting of 25% of vitalik ETH stock few months ago in the name of development funds. But this also gives newbies a lesson of not investing blindly without seeing the team behind it, their plans and whitepaper. I have invested in many ICOs and have been in loss overall but to be frank I am happy because I learned a lot too. I do think altcoins are the backbone of bitcoin ecosystem though. |

I think bitcoin still good or even more better without altcoin. if all developer focus on btc and use bitcoin. It will affect the price of bitcoin too, it can be increase a bit high.
you are right if everyone will focus on only bitcoin then the speed of development of bitcoin will increase more higher and bitcoin will be a powerful currency very soon but because of diversified focus of every developer bitcoin is a a little slow in its race. |

Bitcoin is traded a lot against altcoins in many exchanges.
If suddenly that demand would vanish, we would have an over supply of bitcoins on the market and that would lead us to a drop in the bitcoin price.
Of course bitcoin could survive that scenario, since it pulls its strength out if the infrastructure built around bitcoin, but it would not be pleasent.
Good way to think, actually we can see a lot of daily traders, long term investors and for sure "all" this money have bitcoin in the middle. How it affect bitcoin price? It would affect the price of bitcoins as the price of bitcoins is determined by the need and supply in market, if the demand increases and supply is not then the price increases and vice versa. So, if buyers of alt coins are not there then there will be at least a little to very big consequences in price levels of bitcoins for sure. |

Bitcoin is a currency and none of the currency depends on any other currency, but their strength is depended on its rate of adoption by the people and its regular circulation among the community. The more people accept it the more strength it adopt. So bitcoin is independent to altcoin or any othe crypto currency.
That is true that bitcoin is independent from altcoin and bitcoin alone I think can survive as long as there are supporters who used it. Bitcoin,the father of all crypo's is the standard in cryptocurrency.But an altcoin,from its name alternative coin, is really an alternative one. Actually yes bitcoin can survive but the more alt coins in the market the more is the promotion and there are people that come to bitcoins through advertisement of some alt coins and hence known to bitcoins. We cannot survive alone, we have to take along other altcoins. |

It just makes it more faster for bitcoin to be popular throughout the world so why not cherish the time they are here and profit from what they offer. Dont be blind altcoins are traded against bitcoin, and looks like they can replace it, atleast wont happen soon, altcoins has turned into a way to get bitcoin faster, and some altcoins has turned into a cash machine, but them havent the potencial has bitcoin neither the power or investment as bitcoin. |

Altcoins have become a way to get bitcoin faster only to people that bought the coins at a low price and got it sold for a higher price. On the other hand, there are also people that bought that very same altcoin at a high price and got it sold for a much lower price. Altcoin trading is a good way of making money but that doesn't make it have the chance to replace bitcoin. I think bitcoin would always be the number one crypto-currency even though there are thousands of altcoins that would rise in the market. |

For me, those alt-coins don't matter... The main reason to be here on this virtual currencies world is the bitcoin. Alt-coins are just a way to try getting profit trading. Many of them are just spam coins to make people lose some money and buy them trying to make profit. For me they are just waste of time.

Bitcoin is not dependent on Alternative coins but they do fully. There is not a single independent coin yet which is surviving and working by its own. Bitcoin is good and most trusted among all and it will keep dominating this industry. We surely will have digital currencies in future where Bitcoin still be part of them but alternative coins don't seem to have any scope in broader picture.

They all use blockchain however some altcoins are innovative like ethereum and their smart contracts and things like that. For sure we can see a lot of bad altcoins that's just copys and from this "3000" alt, most of them are already dead. |

Bitcoin trader will get bigger profit by trading with altcoin. bitcoin price is get more stable becouse some of altcoin price is rise significantly after get in to exchange site. But altcoin have no chance to change people interest in bitcoin. Most of etherium users sure that bitcoin can cooperate with etherium. I am agree that price of altcoin always depemd on the price of bitcoin. So I have no worry or problem with altcoin. |
