Just like other things that stand out, Bitcoin will be bitcoin even without altcoins. Bitcoin doesn't need any altcoin, it doesn't depend on any altcoin. On the other hand, all altcoins depend on Bitcoin and without the existence of Bitcoin, altcoin will not be created. Sure that Bitcoin's price is somewhat moved by the investors of altcoins, but that still doesn't mean Bitcoin owe altcoins anything.
And they say they can stand alone. If indeed those altcoin can stand alone it will still be a problem once bitcoin is deleted in the system. How could they gain more users if the biggest one can just fall like that. The only reason why an altcoin cannot stand alone is because you need Bitcoins in order to buy an altcoin. But, if an altcoin is to make an exchange website that accepts fiat, that altcoin will have fiat to depend on. That's the only way it can be bought without depending on Bitcoin but, why would people go such trouble just to purchase an altcoin. It would be really inconvenient when you're in the bitcoin world and you'll need to convert it to fiat first just to buy an altcoin. |

I think it is good and bad, good because you can make money from pumps and bad because there are so many altcoins and most of them are scams.
Altcoins have made many people BTC rich which would not be possible because most of the early BTC adopters have warehouse BTC which would have made the distribution unfair, agreed so many Altcoins ended up been a scam, but no risk no reward. |

I think bitcoin still good or even more better without altcoin. So all cryptocoins user will focus and use bitcoin. It will affect the price of bitcoin too, it can be increase a bit high.

all of that is crypto currency bitcoin is the mother or the first coin be established and now there are alt coin that want to be the first or want to beat the bitcoin and i think it also helps to increase the value of bitcoin to be remain at the top of crypto currency. |

Many of us buy bitcoin to buy altcoin. because altcoin is one of those places that can be folded up duplicate bitcoin becoming more and this is the most easy way to do. The word that is certainly true, as all outstanding altcoin definitely do a conversion using bitcoin |

I agree. Alts increase the liquidity of BTC. They also act as 'sandboxes' where the BTC devs can learn from changes and improvements to Block Chain technology in general. They also act as a value hedge to BTC. Overall I don't think you can think of BTC and the Alts as being a separate entity or activity - it's largely symbiotic. |

Bitcoin can never trade in other coin if alt coin dont have. Bitcoin cannot increase its value because no competition cryptocurrency in the cyberworld now. Bitcoin may be will lost because no one will be interested because its a small value. Bitcoin will be like a coin for gaming only for to continue it in the cyberworld.

I think Altcoin becoming non-existent would not be possible. People would always create copies of something that is brilliant. In this case, it's Bitcoin that got copied. People would always get the idea of "let's copy that" right after seeing something cool.
Anyway, without altcoin, then maybe the price of Bitcoin would even be greater because people have nothing else to trade but Bitcoin. It's also possible that the price of Bitcoin is much less because people got bored of trading a single coin into fiat.

I just wanted to get your opinions on this one , what do you think Bitcoin would be if there was no Alternative coins such Litecoin & Dogecoin and the others ...
I mean it would be better with or without them Bitcoin would have no value at all ?
If Bitcoins would be stil considered be the only crypto then it would increase its price for sure because only Bitcoin is the only to choose from and no other but as others said exchanges would be few or doesn't exist at all since they wouldn't not be profitable if there's no altcoin tradings. |

To buy Altcoins, people usually have to buy Bitcoin first, then I believe it somehow helps the Bitcoin price. Moreover, other cryptocurrencies usually end up leading others to know Bitcoin.

Developers just saw the potential in crypto currency that it is going be a good industry so they have developed alt coins because they have saw that bitcoin is becoming success. So they are thinking that they are going to be able to reach the same success with bitcoin. But for me, bitcoins without alt coins are fine, but alt coins without bitcoin I can't take it.

Without altcoin, I will not have much bitcoin. I mine altcoin and sell them for bitcoin. I do not mine bitcoin.
me too, im mining ethereum classic and hold it, waiting price rising then sell it i just can not imagine what the feel live in 2008 or 2009 ago when bitcoin for the first time invented and launched by satoshi it will be fine right? i mean there is bitcoin without altcoin? altcoin just an alternate to get bitcoin? and develop the world of cryptocurrency right? you can still earn bitcoin without mining altcoin to traded with bitcoin later |

Without the alts, some people would have very few btcs, because many of them obtained the btcs mainly by mining different altcoins and selling them for btc in the market.

I think that Alton is there to help improve the next version of bitcoin. I believe there will be a bitcoin transition later in the future, a lot later in the future and the improvements made to alt coins are the blueprints for any new change. Keep on advancing!

Do you think Bitcoin always will be the Gold of cryptos? Some alts have a good point, and some are just trash, trap, pump and dump... But yeah, some alts can change the world like bitcoin are doing but in another way. |
