Once the DCR graphical wallet is out with POS voting, the price of DCR will skyrocket
We think skyrocket is to much. We think after GUI launch the price slowly doubles to 3 - 4 usd a 1 decred. Thats a normal reaction because a lot of people are going to pos stake and needs some additional coins (ticket price also doubles).

And with a windows GUI wallet Decred become available for the normal people. Now is decred a coin only for the "computer nerds" Grin

Highly unlikely. Anyone who is interested in it is already buying in or already has. I do not see any new blood coming in especially now that BTC itself is on the move and as a result alts will suffer as always and DCR is no exception.

He can be right if GUI wallet with all annouced features will be released @POLO should list DCR at once and this would skyrocket for sure.

BTW we had reversal on Bittrex, so in midtime we're on uptrend.

GUI wallet may not be enough on its own to get things going but it is still a must and it will help.

At the very least it will make things more convenient for current users who want to stake.

Unfortunately that dual miner is doing a lot of damage I fear. So many people who dont want dcr are mining it and dumping it while mining what they really want which is eth

That makes it unprofitable to mine for people who actually wanted to keep it but can't use the dual miner.

Just a few things to remember. The term "dump" is deceiving. Whenever someone "dumps" DCR, there is someone BUYING them, accumulating them.
So there is no damage there. The price is currently very stable, actually it seems to be slowly rising.
We're at an early phase of this crypto- ... let's be patient and see where it goes.
If you believe in this coin, then keep the coins you mine.
If you don't believe in it, then just mine whatever coin is the most profitable at the moment and "dump" it, no?
What's the problem? - Also, I wouldn't keep those ETH if I were you... ETH = lots of vapor and hype IMO.

This was the big mistake on decred. Launch without a gui wallett.
Everyone who is waiting for a GUI wallet for a price rise is completly wrong.
A gui wallet shoud be launched at beginning.

They spent 3 years on development,it will not make any difference to wait 3 years and 6 months to launch but with a GUI wallet ready.

Am i wrong?

What do you think that investors are waiting a GUI wallet? lol.

We are talking, but it's funny how "crypto expert" trolling about a GUi wallet that will skyrocket price.
So, the best innovation of 2016 on cryptoworl is a GUI wallett for a coin? lol

EDIT: i know many investors that are waiting a GUI wallet to dump airdrop since they are not tech with command line.
So, when GUI wallet comes out, excpetc a huge dump, not a rise.

Because Decred is not copy/paste of Bitcoin code like so many other coins, so it's completely understandable it had no GUI wallet at start.
And there is absolutely no problem with that. Paymetheus is in test now and will come to mainnet soon. A web wallet is already available.
Personally, I am not expecting a price surge from the release of GUI wallets. Instead, it may facilitate adoption which could mean introduction to more trading platforms
The price surge is likely to come from addition to Poloniex and other trade platforms (which is perhaps tied to an intuitive GUI wallet release).

No, that is false, because there is a simple, intuitive web wallet already available now. It's easy to sell your airdrop. Therefore, there will be no "dump".
An "investor" can use the web wallet and buy DCR on Bittrex. What's preventing them?
You are clearly interested only in short-term price increase which shows you're looking to make a quick buck.

Nobody is suggesting the GUI wallet is an innovation of Decred. That is your own delusional projection.
The innovation in Decred is in governance, self-funding, the hybrid PoS/PoW system and other tech related improvements.

If you saved your 33 word seed, you can import your seed to any wallet on any computer. I'm not sure if the wallet.db file does the same thing.

You could help out those many investors that you know by showing them how easy it is to use the Web Wallet.
Importantly, no command line knowledge is required. The notable trade-off with using a web wallet is arguably less security, but in effect, this web wallet doesn't really hold or store your private keys at any time, and since all they want is to dump their airdrop, it's perfectly adequate...  Roll Eyes

That's the beauty of it, you don't need to worry about saving any file, you just need the seed and then you can recreate the wallet from the seed!

As someone who lost some alt coin wallet.dats in the past due to hard drive failure I can appreciate the superiority of a deterministic wallet system.

I do some volunteer artwork for Decred at times and got talk to Ingsoc a bit.  I have full faith in the devs, they're serious about DCR not being just another BTC clone.  And it isn't.  Just go to the forums and look at the proposals.  And they're not out to replace any other coin, either.  If they were talking shit about it taking down Bitcoin or whatever, then I'd be suspect.  They're humble, they're realistic, and they're actually pretty idealistic, which I consider a plus.  Shows they actually care about DCR as a project.   Someone asked them about an ICO before launch, and they said they'd never take money from the community in exchange for DCR, they wanted the initial distro to be as fair as possible.

Anyways, time will tell, but I'm positive DCR will be around for a long time.  It's already had more success than most altcoins.  It'll go up and down and be pretty volatile for a while, like any other new coin, but it's not gonna be some pump and dump coin that eventually gets abandoned.

Which stratum pool is the best? I tried to Suprnova and dcr.maxminers.net. However, terribly poor. On Suprnova I for 24 hours was only 1 DCR with 2800  MH / s, and the https://dcr.maxminers.net I had a lot less.

I am using http://yiimp.ccminer.org/ with great luck.  No problems after trying the other pools.

I will be setting up POS DCR SOLO mining on a raspberry pi 3.  Stay tuned.  Only $0.25 USD in electricity per month to run Raspberry pi 3, that is only 0.0005495 BTC per month.
