Ummm Vidz Aka PureVidz. I'm been following up the Project for sometime now even before the ICO. The ICO target was reached and exceeded. Right now Vidz is doing well on Yobit exchange and trading X2 ICO price. I understand that The Price alone doesn't guarantee the Project success but It is backed by a dedicated dev and a growing community support. Like you said, It has a lot of potential. It's worth being bought and traded.

At the end of the day, you are the only one responsible for your money you must take all the advice you see in the internet with a grain of salt especially since there are many interest, some may give you an advice to invest in a particular coin because they are invested in the coin themselves and want to sell.

There are so many altcoins out there that is very difficult to be smart and pick a good coin. I personally believe in bitcoin I also bought some creditbit at good price, i like their vision, now they are moving on ethereum platform and have some really cool stuff, hope i would gain more profit on long term.

Yeah too many alts make it difficult to select. Now I have been learning. I have not much knowledge of these new coins. But why the exchanges are not playing a role for the people. They can trade only those coins which are good and have necessary codes. Also They should Ban the Coins which are scams so people investments are save.

I've been reading through this forums for the past few weeks and all I see is "this coin is dead" or "everything is a shit coin". Is there any alt coin with potential to invest in or is it only bitcoin? I don't mean like a few here and there, I mean over 100 coins.

But even lots of coins are being dead, of course there are still rising up the coins that has a potential and good project in the near future. Although still we have few legit coin that can be says as good to invest in like nem/xem, icobid, and eth.

90 % of altcoins it's scam. In my opinion good coin it's coins with working devs (such like Byteball), without premine. Many big project like Lisk or Wawes looks like scam ('cause they do not match to this two rules).

I’m sorry to say this but that is not the responsibility of the exchanges they just  follow the demand if a lot of persons want a coin added to their exchange then they are going to do it, we are the only ones responsible for our money and not anyone else.

Which is right with the way pump and dump group manage to take advantage of those dead project allowing some newbies to think that the coin is really doing some moves but after you join the ride automatically they will dumped it and without any knowledge they will shaken and surely loses their btc.

I'm not saying that this is good opportunity for earning money but in theory when we speaking how we can earn, and from which coins, you will finally conclude that there is no limitations. Not almost anything are possible to be worth, there are coins out there that just want to make the market cycle ruined and becomes dumped in the end.

most of these linking to ethereum is because most of those developers have seen the success in price for ethereum (in other words they have seen the pump and dumps) and want to join in with their own project.
next time ethereum is pumped you will start hearing a lot of news about all these linked projects and how they are also getting pumped, but again they forget about the dump because they will be dumped hard too.

The good coins with innovation seem to not be involved in these pumps.. indeed you or anyone here will not be involved in any pumps.. think about that a bit.

Ask yourself why? Well for one if im a whale id be accumulating when noone else is so i dont have to worry about providing liquidity to others on the way up.

So why not pick a good coin? Perhaps cause in this early phase of crypto many people are accumulating so whales think its less efficient to pump these. Also they require more liquidity than whales can afford to effectively pump them.

So that leaves the question... whats the business proposition of making money off of pumps? Well they must pray on fools that buy into herd mentality or such that they think someone knows something about a coin that they dont so they buy into the hype of a deadcoin rising. Basically its a pretty shitty business model for these new types of whales because if people find out that the coin actually doesnt even have a developer then trollbox will be quick to point out to those looking to buy into the shitcoin.. however some profit might be had but whales wont be able to scale out as much everytime they do this to a shitcoin. Basically get it while going is good and even if it makes a few bucks it will happen hoping that once in a while they hit jackpot by having some fool dump a ton of money into nonsense pump as i call it.

Not all of it is bad... as it may be funding devs who badly need funding to continue working or motivate them to work again so it does serve a good role but mot as much as if that money were put to good use on a good altcoin that gives back to communitu through innovation (not many of those either maybe a handful).

What can you do? Simple do your homework.. check ann thread if coin is pumping ask questions.. if someone from team isnt around to answer in timely manor and doesnt satisfy your request and or theres no development news... move on. Sometimes development news is overplayed so you have to read between lines to figure out if its good or bad in terms or value of the underlying token... this is why its not that easy to trade... i find being a developer its easier to see good development versus bad and make informed decisions...

I could easily seeing traders pay developers to make informed decisions on projects and developments and could happen pretty soon as people realize nonsense pumps and dont buy in.

Certainly there is no need to have hundreds of altcoins out there... one of the problems with the existence of so many altcoins is that, in fact, this is something that confuses people with little experience in crypto. I would say that many altcoins exist for a good reason, because in fact there are projects that try to bring innovations capable of making the crypto space even better, many of these innovations could even be applied in Bitcoin sidechains in the future. I agree with you that exchanges should prioritize such projects and remove scam coins.
