Every time a block is mined, a certain amount of BTC (called the subsidy) is created out of thin air and given to the miner. The subsidy halves every four years and will reach 0 in about 130 years.

So if you are wrong, you are right anyway, right?

Do you know what apophenia is?
It means that you will see random patterns as meaningful, when in fact they are just random, meaningless.
It is a psychological phenomena, impossible to be avoided because it is very hardwired in our brains.

Besides that, Cognitive Dissonance, Denial, Memory Bias, Confirmation Bias and Cognitive biases.
All these are frequently used by religious nutjobs, psychics, oracles and Technical Analysts.
If we weight up all our predictions, it is no better than chance.

TA is just a glorified martingale.

TA is effective but not applicable on that tiny market.

my humble analysis:

Bitcoin got some traction in the last few days. People started using it with the services that offered it as a payment alternative (maybe because they find some security/privacy in that).

People who sell Bitcoins (miners/hoarders/business operators), might thought that holding their bc for a few days won't hurt and will actually make them some income (as bitcoin is appreciating from demand/popularity). so they did hoard their bitcoins, and the price continued it's steady (and yet fast increase) as demand carried.

Now come the speculators (like the guy taking a $15k loan to buy bc). And when the speculators come we are about to see a boom and bust and life will be back to normal (expect for some wealth which changed hands).

no TA bullshit  Cool

When will you TA's guys understand that TA is just self-fulfilled prophecy?
TA is just a bunch of guys relying on apophenia and techniques built with the presumption that past performance does predict future results, which it doesn't.
The only investing is value investing, period.

The rest, including TA, is just gambling.

there have been many, many discussions about this. if you have this belief, and you have good evidence to back it up, feel free to start your own thread. don't spam someone's TA thread...

this sentence has fifteen words, seventy-four letters, four commas, one hyphen, and a period.

And this thread proves it.

Nice shooting star so far. This one oftenly defines bubble top. Especially out of log scale trend.

But I will define down trend if this shit will close below 32. Hehe.

It is not a belief, it is a fact.
And this thread proves it.

1. there can be people who are bad at technical analysis, and yet it is still valid.
2. you can't prove a negative; in order to prove that technical analysis is not valid, you must disprove the existence of time-dependent autocorrelations in price data.
3. thanks for providing good contextual opening for my new thread Wink
4. any further discussion on this point should occur in my thread or in a thread of your own, so as not to hijack lucif's any longer.

this sentence has fifteen words, seventy-four letters, four commas, one hyphen, and a period.

For fundamental-lovers. This is what I told you few months ago

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=149668.0

Beginning of the hard fork and network inconsitency.

And what Bitcoin Foundation idiots do? NOTHING. What purpose this organization was created for?
