HODLcoin is very hard to mine, I haven't hit 1 block at all in days Sad

You see a good coin and find out you can't be a part of it, Guess I'm going to have to personally hate this coin for now lol

really whats your hash rate? I mined 2 blocks on a rig that was maxed out at 57h/s and as low as 31h/s

How can you tell your hashrate ? I am using the built-in miner inside the wallet with a Core 2 Duo (Dual Core) with the setgenerate true -1 option.

I've even tried on a i5 for half a day and nothing....

Go to the Debug window.. its found under the Help drop down... then when in the Debug window under the Info tab.. at the bottom there is a little button it says open with an arrow.. when the file opens scroll down to the bottom.. in there will be your hash rate.. you should be able to find it.. if you need more guidance let me know..

I don't see where my hastrate is. All it tells me is the miner started and Proof of work found.

NO, no, no. Go to Help, Debug Window, Console, type "getmininginfo". This will tell you your networkhashps.

That only shows "Network" Hashrate not your own, the other way tells you your own hashrate.

Yep, sorry misread. Thought they were after Network.

Still don't know my hashrate because It does not say so in the file that i scroll to the bottom of.

Well that is a cloud server...  and its costing a pretty penny to keep them all running.. so mine won't be up for too much longer... but I have hit blocks on as low as 30h/s this weekend..

Okay, I got a new version for you tweakers out there - change are in the Github too.

Changes include limit to 1MB block-size (to prevent block filling attack) and new node, but also a new command line argument to help with mining . . . .

https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B-5Ax5kejTpMZnBOM1cwVVVDMEk/view?usp=sharing

The command line argument is -minermemory=2 . . . . . this sets the miner to use 2 GB instead of 1 . . . you can also try higher settings, 3 or 4, or 16 for kushed. Just use whole numbers.

It starts a new miner for each extra GB with the specified number of threads . . . let's look at an example . .

>HOdlcoin-qt.exe  -gen=1 -minermemory=2 -genproclimit=2

This sets mining on, using 2 GB, with 2 threads on each GB.

>HOdlcoin-qt.exe  -gen=1 -minermemory=3 -genproclimit=8

This sets mining on, using 3 GB, with 8 threads on each GB.

You can use more threads than you have cores, and sometimes it's more efficient. But you'll crash if you try to use more memory than you have free.

You'll have to tweak to see what's best for your processor and memory config. I'm seeing ~10% gains when I have the most efficient settings.

Happy tweaking!

nb. the hash/sec figure in the debug log is for each 1GB miner - so if you're using 2, you'll need to double it, or add the two miners figures together.

I have a System with 4 Core's (with HT Cool and 16GB RAM.
What is the best combination? I have tested many combinations. The most combinations result in a exception.

More than 2 in minermemory crashes. 3 or 4 or 8 crashes. No entry in the eventlog. Windows 10 64bit and 16GB RAM.
This call works: HOdlcoin-qt.exe -gen=1 -minermemory=2

Hmmm, windows might be objecting to allocating more than 4GB of memory on a single process.

Try these configs -

for max performance
HOdlcoin-qt.exe  -gen=1 -minermemory=2 -genproclimit=8

to leave some CPU free for other stuff
HOdlcoin-qt.exe  -gen=1 -minermemory=3 -genproclimit=2

HOdlcoin-qt.exe  -gen=1 -minermemory=3 -genproclimit=2
This version HOdlcoin-qt.exe -gen=1 -minermemory=2 has a performance from 20-23H/s.
This: HOdlcoin-qt.exe -gen=1 has a performance of 35-40H/s. All on Windows 7 64bit and 3GB RAM.

The same on my laptop. With 2GB memory is the hashrate the half as with 1GB.

here this may help you see you have 2 running at the same time..

See we have 2 best hashes at the 148 seconds mark of this block... so you add 75 + 74 = 149h/s... and the set above one was 1 sec fasted.. I mean they may be 1 second faster sometime.. one was done searching at the 134 sec mark and the other was done searching at the 135 sec mark..

I hope this helps clear it up...
