Sometimes bitcoin is used for illegal activities, OP, sometimes it is...

Britain's worst paedophile: Pervert, 30, abused HUNDREDS of young victims at Christian orphanages across south-east Asia - but why did UK police not raise the alarm?

Britain's worst paedophile who attacked hundreds of children in south-east Asia and used the 'dark web' to crowd-fund his abuse is facing 22 life sentences.
He turned to online paedophiles to crowdfund the abuse, allowing those who paid him in Bitcoins access to videos of him raping his victims.

Hope the law enforcement can track the ppl who paid for this, following bitcoin blockchain trace. Will see.

When people is willing to do something bad, they will be willing to use all the available resources to do it. Unfortunately there are lots of detractors that have emphasized the use of bitcoins for illegal activities, but most of these crimes can also be carried out using fiat or metals with no problem.

Assuming that bad=illegal, yes.  That will never stop and would be occuring with or without Bitcoin as a medium.

I think so. I strongly believe that is it being used for illegal activities.  And more importantly, being the simpleton retard that I am, I think we should just ask the government to ban it!  Angry

To protect our children ...

What do you think?

You can also kill people with a hammer & drive nails with hand grenades.
Hand grenades are just so darn well suited for killing tho. Probably why hardware stores carry hammers and not hand grenades.

Assuming that bad=illegal, yes.  That will never stop and would be occuring with or without Bitcoin as a medium.
Sure, bad shit won't stop (and by "bad," i mean "bad"). And killing won't stop if hand grenades magically vanished.
And yet, I'm still unsure if that's reason enough to start selling hand grenades at hardware stores.
Must be getting old Sad

i have no such an idea. may be so or not. but either dollar is using for illegal activities or not. either other flat currencies are use for illegal activities or not.i think yes. because all activities either that are legal or illegal need money. so we can say that bitcoin is a virtual currency and now body know what for what purpose the people will use it.

Yes, especially in Deep web, many criminals use it to pay or buy some illegal stuff like drugs, firearms or hire some people to work for them. The main reasons that the people use it for some illegal activities because of its anonymity.

I see more and more acrticles of bitcoin being used for illegal activities
will this hurt bitcoin in the long run , will governments ban this just like they started to do wih paying in cash for some services
to harden the use of illegal , and money laundering

It is use in illegal activities in fact in deepweb this is their main payment option i think. So the effect of this bitcoin is use in illegal activities many people thinks that if im earning there im one of using illegal activities here. But theres no truth about it. Im just earning here in bitcointalk and teaching someone here to earn more money here and if they earning im just waiting them to give some tip if they dont thanks. But if they gave me some tip thanks.

You know how much money is being use for illegal activity in cash? You know how much of the money you touch has traces of drugs on it? That $20 bill in your wallet probably has cocaine on it.
Gold, silver, platinum, Tide laundry detergent is all being used for illegal activity at this moment as a currency, so BitCoin cannot be singled out, so it'll not affect this coin at all because the majority of the people who use BitCoin are legit users like you and I.

Yes ban it so the criminals in the governments can continue to become more rich with their dirty filthy affairs in which they always use USD as a currency, apparently they don't like competition and thats why the Donald Trump guy like the idiot he is, he said that I will put a wall in bitcoin.  And the usual reason is to protect our children always lol.

Hey Trump, bitcoin has already put a wall on you in case you are not aware yet Smiley

Bitcoin is money, and money has always been used both for legal and illegal purposes. Cash, credit cards and current banking systems widely surpass Bitcoin in terms of their use to finance crime. Bitcoin can bring significant innovation in payment systems and the benefits of such innovation are often considered to be far beyond their potential drawbacks.

Good but first must be banned us dollar which was used as the money of the terrorism before the invention of bitcoin. Then must be used again us dollar the banknotes of which have the most high content of drugs (scientifically proved) compared to all the other moneys.

For how much times will continue to be created such bullshits threads....

With regards to illegal use, here are the next topic of pedophilia.
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1501762.0

Yes, it's sad. But the currency has a currency, it is used by all. And the criminals are, I think because of the anonymity. But Bitcoin pseudo anonymous http://arxiv.org/abs/1107.4524 and it must use special services to catch criminals.

i think it might be used for illegal things because bitcoins is anonymous therefore people can avoid problems
Yeah some people make use of the fact that you can be anonymous at Bitcoin. You know that when you implement something like this people will make use of it in a bad way.

each currency always has good and bad sides and it depends on the wearer. so each currency has a users must have both good and bad. there are many users so there are some of those that use the currency for illegal activities. humans have vices so each currency has a user must have been used for illegal activitie
