Well IMO Bitcoin is being used for illegal activities. It is used in the darknet to buy drugs, illegal guns, and illegal services. It is also used there to hire some hitman.
Yeah you are right many bad people are using bitcoin to just buy that things and buy some people that will work for them like hiring people to kill their enemies or other people. I think they are getting advantage of the feature of bitcoin that we called being anonymous but i believe and hoping that bitcoin is being used in good things (legal) rather bad things (illegal)  . |

Every good thing can also be used for bad things and so can Bitcoin. Like the fiat money, Bitcoin is also used for money laundering, buying drugs and weapons, child pornography. I think that you all have heard for Silk Road and similar markets where Bitcoin is used for illegal stuff.
All these things are not because of bitcoin, its because people want to do these wrong activities. I have seen numerous cases where dollars were being used in illegal things like buying drugs, etc. |

I see more and more acrticles of bitcoin being used for illegal activities
will this hurt bitcoin in the long run , will governments ban this just like they started to do wih paying in cash for some services
to harden the use of illegal , and money laundering
Yes, it is the reason why bitcoin develop so fast last 2010. It's time where people knew that using bitcoin for their illegal activities will make them safe because of it's anonymity. though its not such a bad thing in my opinion because people do crimes with fiat also |

Personally, I also believe that it is being used for some of the illegal activities. First of all, some countries consider online gambling as an illegal activity, so that's where BTC comes to place.
However I don't think that the government does really care about the cryptocurrency being in use, that's why they don't really focus their time on it and doesn't "hunt" for people that gamble etc people.

I think that for some people bitcoin is actually used for crime. I do not deny though that bitcoin conducting easy transactions can be its actual weakness.
That is why the government can't really track the criminals that use bitcoin to buy things You cant really check with Bitcoin what have you bought, thus making it a big problem

Bitcoin WAS heavily used for illegal activities way back when bitcoin wasn't as popular as it is now. And just so you know, it IS still used for illegal activities to launder big amounts of money, most probably. Bitcoin will probably continue to be used for illegal activities as criminals are very smart and will find every way possible to do a crime. |

If people were using bitcoin to participate in illegal activities, then shouldn't it be banned? Maybe this needs to be looked into a little closer! We, as a community, should not participate in a movement that condones illegal behavior such as gambling and watching illicit content. We should also take a stand and fight against those who listen to rock-n-roll, do drugs, and partake in sex outside of religiously sanctified marriages! People should not have the freedom to make their own choices and do whatever they want with their money! It is unnatural!

Like money laundering and for sure the government will find it hard to regulate it because everybody can use bitcoins and everybody can make their multiple wallets by having multiple accounts. There is one article that I have read saying that bitcoin is illegally used in sports betting because if a person really want to get rich, and he is a player, he can make his team lost so that he will win in sportsbetting. |

Any other Currencies is being used to illegal activities, but Bitcoin is highly notable due to its anonymity, it is what you called Freedom, no one controls it, so illegal transactions can also be considered due to this features and circumstances. So the question " Is Bitcoin used for Illegal Activities?" the answer is yes. but on the other side have you asked also if " Bitcoin is being used in Legal and legit activities?" definitely a Yes also. Just Like, Using a Kitchen knife, Can be used as deadly weapon, but a must have tool in the kitchen. |
