During the early days, more people adopted it for its anonymous nature than knowing its potential. Later users started knowing much about it and started using it as an investment as well earning source.

Yeah, but that's only a small part. Because I see all the people who use the bitcoin now (new) hooked or want to benefit greatly because of references from people who are already feeling it. The investment is the first step made by most beginners while using bitcoin, because from the very beginning they already know the potential of the bitcoin

well i guess you are right about it and it is a little bit sad that we have no power to prevent people from doing illegal activities with bitcoin, i hope it will change in the future

i think the use of bitcoin for illegal activities is not such a big problem, because if a local and regional currency can be use for illegal activities  and the stage cannot stop them then how can we thing about the universal currency which is also anonymous. so the government should stop the illegal activities rather than to find what kind of currencies are they using.

I think we will not know the purpose of transactions of everyone in bitcoin. although the transaction id they can see but we will not know what they do with the transaction. so I think bitcoin is great to be used as payment for illegal goods. and I do not know if many people are using bitcoin to buy drugs and so on

Same goes up for fiat related transactions. Even if you use internet banking to send money, no one will be knowing what the purpose of that transaction was. And especially when it comes to cash money transactions. Bitcoin isn't any different. It's a currency that is being used for all kinds of purposes.

It is true that a small percentage of Bitcoin transactions are illegal, but the majority it is used only for good, more people are using it in business right now and this is the only reason why bitcoin has become so prominent today.

How come you know the stats? Any valid source of that percentage you are talking? lol.

And no, bitcoin is prominent today because of it's price and not with the "only" reason you are pointing about more people are using it in business. The stats today for business who are using bitcoins are far away from so called big adoption.

yeah bitcoin is used for gambling but i think its not bitcoin fault because every currency can be used for illegal activity so  people can be use bitcoin in limit for illegal activity and fiat currency can be used for unlimited illegal activity so its mean bitcoin is too much better than other currency.

yes it may be but i personally have no idea, to me as bitcoin is a new born currency and still hardly 1% of the world population will be using bitcoin, and the one percent are those people who have good command on computer and internet, and well educated, so i can say that the illegal bitcoin users will be negligible, and i will like to add that most of the people of the world will be using the most popular currency of the world which is almost in every country is applicable, therefor USD is the best option with them using for illegal activities.

Of course it is, like every other currency that exists, if a currency exists it's quite that it'll be both used for legal and illegal activities. But when you mentoin Bitcoin to someone who doesn't know much about cryptocurrenciess they immediately think that you hire hitmen online, It's kinda getting better last years though.

yeah by law in some countries gambling is not illegal, but morally gambling is illegal everywhere i every corner of the world, as with that a person lose all the hard earned money of his life and ruin his life to enter the poverty.

Off course we CAN DO something about this. And ppl are doing this. There are companies that just do that, monitor and detect illegal transactions in the blockchain, e.g.,

I see more and more acrticles of bitcoin being used for illegal activities
will this hurt bitcoin in the long run , will governments ban this just like they started to do wih paying in cash for some services
to harden the use of illegal , and money laundering

Bitcoin is money. Every illegal activites that associated in money can also be done in bitcoin.

And no, I see it won't hurt bitcoin in the long run because after all good news about bitcoin still dominates over those bad.

Just deal with it because it's usual.
but the crimals dont know bitcoin but not all so its ok if they found out bitcoin druglords will use
bitcoin instead sending money in the bank and other transaction things

criminals are just taking advantage of the anonymous part of bitcoin(yes bitcoin is anonymous if you don't deal in fiat and you not have your name attached to your address...), that's not bitcoin fault

bitcoin was mean to have some privacy in comparison to fiat, you may seen it as cash which are digital

what really hurts bitcoin, is those hacker stealing 30k coins on exchange and dumping it the next day, everything else is pure fud

i absolutely secondly agree with you

this kind of thing will always happen from time to time
it good no
Is it good for btc price absolutely not

Bitcoin can help a lot in money laundering practices so its nothing new that bitcoin is being used for illegal activities and it will continue to be used as long as it provides a way of minimizing the risk of getting caught. With the fiat money risk is bigger for example when you do the exchange of the money something may go wrong and starts a mass shooting. With bitcoin criminals can talk to each other from TOR, from SIGAINT email which are untraceable and make a hassle free exchange.

Recently there was information that Interpol conference gathered and they had a debate over whether, how much active criminal world started using cryptocurrency for their criminal purposes. It turns out that many are trying to legalize their funds through bitcoin.

that's dumb statement, bitcoin is a currency and currency can be used for anything if the user want, just like people do use dollar to buy drugs or anything illegal? its the same like  when you use btc,and about money laundering, its possible to be done through any currency

Thanks for saying this, it's a really important point that a lot of people both in this forum and in the wider world need to understand. I can use dollars to do illegal shit, just as I can use bitcoin, in fact I'm probably more likely to use dollars in person as cash is LESS traceable than coins(without using mixers).

This statement is correct, and in this time is appearing some service is providing about break the amount and eliminating the history of the bitcoin address, it will very support for the criminal for using into the wrong way.
