of course bitcoin is used for illegal stuff, we cannot do anything about so i dont worry about it
I think we will not know the purpose of transactions of everyone in bitcoin. although the transaction id they can see but we will not know what they do with the transaction. so I think bitcoin is great to be used as payment for illegal goods. and I do not know if many people are using bitcoin to buy drugs and so on
It seems to be that some people use bitcoin for illegal thing like drugs but the same thing happens with other currencies and even with gold too. And to be honest, dollars is on top for most being used illegally it’s not a big deal, and I think the government should focus on those illegal activities not on what currencies being used for them.

right, bitcoin is often used to buy drugs, so I feel it is an illegal activity. but I think even if the government focused on it, it will be very difficult to be tracked, because basically the ability bitcoin is to hide the identity of the person sending them. but I am pretty sure, people who perform illegal activities using bitcoin is pretty much out there, they may also relate to the rising and falling price of bitcoin

I dont think we will see all those illegal transactions, some might be doing it right now but we will not see it. Maybe if we can access the deep web or more. But it is scary when you go down there.

illegal activities are tend to be done in the dark.  Meaning no one is suppose to  see it except for the people involved.  It  really is scary especially when you are not used on it.  But bitcoin had been in bad press ever since, yes it is used in many illegal activities but more honest and legit merchant are using it now.

Unlike Liberty Reserve, Bitcoin's transactions aren't truly invisible. Thanks to the elaborate software architecture that stands behind this cryptocurrency, it's possible to see the web of exchanges involving Bitcoin. But it's not possible to see who is using them, much less what they're buying. Little wonder that bitcoins have a growing criminal constituency, particularly in the unregulated, murky online world of the "Deep Web."

I agree with you. Illegal activites must be very secret and only 1 or 2 people know that activities, because it's illegal and yes, i think somewhere out there, bitcoin being used for illegal activities.

I see more and more acrticles of bitcoin being used for illegal activities
will this hurt bitcoin in the long run , will governments ban this just like they started to do with paying in cash for some services
to harden the use of illegal , and money laundering

Yes we know that majority of online related fraud is been backed up by bitcoin anonymity, but the are still good people that uses bitcoin transaction on daily bases. many country government hate bitcoin because the believe and think that bitcoin will make there local currency fall many of them sponsors illegal bitcoin activities just to give bitcoin a bad name just because the can have full control of the currency . even banks have been doing lots of research on bitcoin and the see a clue that bitcoin can make bank Disappear one day.

Grin Grin Grin you know why Grin Grin Grin Grin

Bitcoin transaction is very fast
The can not freeze your account (because the don't control your account like the bank does)
Low transaction fee so the can make profit from you (bank investor gain millions and billions from innocent customers but with bitcoin the may be left WITH empty POCKET)

but the funny thing is that bitcoin is controlled by nobody

the may block people from accessing any site related to bitcoin but remember that we are in the modem world where strong and anonymous VPN have been developed with your privacy secured AND YOUR ISP ARE JUST WASTING THERE TIME

You cant stop what you never knew how it started

SO FRIENDS LETS KEEP BITCOIN MOVEMENT GOING, LETS COME TOGETHER AND CRATE OPEN SOURCE PROJECT THAT IS BASED ON BITCOIN   Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin

I think it really is. Especially in the porn industries i think there were few porn sites that accepts bitcoins as a primary payment for their VIP members and of course illegal gamblings because bitcoin can hide identities.

Bitcoin has no borders. Just because some countries thinks that gambling is illegal and they restrict all of the gambling websites doesn't necessarily mean it really is illegal. Many persons feel frustrated by this and they go to play to bitcoin casinos. This is not illegal but illegal is to buy drugs or watch porn with minors online which many on the deep web do and unfortunately they use bitcoin for this and consequently give bitcoin a bad reputation.

Yes, just because bitcoins are used for criminal activities should not be an argument against bitcoins. Any fiat currency is used for illegal activities and people still don't want to get rid of them.

All form of currency is having a change for using that in the illegal activities, and it's very hypocrite person, for people is just seeing from a once way about this, like the media just seeing if bitcoin is linked in the criminalism.

True illegal activity is  used or canuse or be injected in any form of currency.  Currency as we know is a tool use in trading goods and stuff so basically anything that can be use to replace fiat money in order to hide from government regulation is an advantage for these people.  So they would likely to migrate in using bitcoin as their tool for payment.

Some bitcoins are being used for illegal activity like literally every single currency in the world, USD and the like are being used for tons of illegal activity... I don't think that takes any of the value of coins.

The best is yet to come!

your statement which i just bold above is definitely right, currency don't have brain to choose an option whether to be used for criminal things or good things, and can't spend themselves,it's just some people who have lack of thinking ability and end up generalizing a currency

Probably yes because it is use to pay illegal drugs and fire arms in deep web. If you visit deep web there is black market over there to sell contrabands and illegal drugs. It is the center of dealer syndicates all over the world. And it is hard to trace because ut is using anonymous ip address. And dont go to that without knowledge of what is deepweb all about.

To be honest i think it is, bitcoin is one of the most ideal currency to do illegal things because its so hard to track it, and the worst thing is some of the people directly judge all of bitcoin user are bad guys, so it has made bitcoin difficult to be developed, and even some people proudly announce that they are using bitcoin for bad things

I expect that a lot of the value of bitcoin may actually be derived from its use in darknet marketplaces.
The administrator of Silk Road was arrested on 1 October 2013, when the price of Bitcoin was $US133. By 29 November 2013 the price was $US1132. This can be explained by the masses of media attention which was received for Bitcoin over this time, however the bulk of this was in relation to Silk Road. If people learned about Bitcoin by it's association with drug markets and the price grew exponentially, it's reasonable to assume that at least a portion of this growth was due to people looking to buy bitcoin so that they too could participate in illegal markets.

If drug deals were being paid for with Jelly Beans, and after the media covered the story the price of Jelly Beans exploded, it's pretty safe to assume that a portion of people are buying them with the view to buy drugs.

Yes just as much as dollar is being used for illegal activities. What makes bitcoin so attractive for criminals is that it is very anonymous so nothing is able to trace back almost. This is why criminals buy weapons etc with it on the darkweb via tor no IP no trace to payments nothing just the stuff they ordered. Be careful there's alot of bad people into bitcoin aswell.
